Israel is not only starving the people of Gaza but it also wants to ensure the spread of disease through contaminated water and surgical tools, as well as ensuring injured Palestinians suffer through horrendous pain.

It's beyond sickening.

I think the worst thing to happen to media literacy is people equating reason with excuse and then ignoring it when they talk about something a character has done.

You can acknowledge that a character's bad past contributed to their bad actions without forgiving them or saying it makes what they did okay.

Have y'all ever seen an awful opinion on a character that happens to be held by the majority of the fandom, and you just don't understand how a fandom made up mostly of adults can have such bad media literacy?

I recently finished a show, and I cannot interact with the fandom anywhere because the tag for the character I like is mostly filled with neg when the posts are actually about him.

People don't understand that character flaws do not mean badly written characters, and characters (especially teenagers) are allowed to be flawed and have mean moments without being bad people.

If a character's bad actions are being called out by other characters, that means its intentional, not bad writing. When you actually look into a character's motivations instead of looking at the surface of their actions, it means that there's a reason why they're acting out, and it doesn't necessarily make them a bad person. Having a character talk to them and ask them why they do something, or empathize with them and get them to admit that they were wrong, means that they're trying to understand them, not that they're excusing their actions or letting them get away with it.

I'm actually so angry about it because people don't even try to understand why the character acts the way he acts, and I know I can't post anything in his defense (even if I back up all of my claims with facts and analysis) because the fandom will eat me alive.

And this isn't about healthy and understandable criticism. I'm talking about finding things to hate about a character because you don't understand that character flaws don't equal being a bad person.

I almost want to just make one big post that picks apart all of the pointless criticism and explain why they're wrong, and actually do an in-depth analysis on the character, but I know that the fandom will be too prideful to admit they're wrong and they'll attack me.

I love thinking about continuities with the timeline split. Like the split is in 2005, so all of the early Hatchetfield/Waylon stuff is the exact event in every timeline, not just a "it always happens" event.

And THEN you have one timeline's Ted who went back to 2004 (before the split) and became the homeless guy, so now that one timeline's Ted is every timeline's homeless guy.

The only thing I want to know is when exactly did Solomon Lauter have his deal with the Lords in Black? Was it pre-2005 and it always happened the same way in every universe? Did it happen post-2005 and happen in every universe in a different way? Did it happen post-2005 and only happen in some universes? I need to know!!
