Why don't you ever have Cody's real name Kote in your fics?

Because it's someone's headcanon, not canon. And personally, I really, really dislike it. Names are very meaningful to the clones in canon, and obviously anyone can write whatever the hell they want, but to me, taking that name away feels...rude. Like changing part of who Cody is to better align with a headcanon, and that's fine if that's your thing, but it's not mine. Cody's name is Cody. That's the name he picked. I'm not going to change it to fit some imagined Aesthetic™ that makes him, idk, cooler?? He's plenty cool already.
