Big shout out to the coalition of Catholic nuns who just told the US bishops to stop being transphobic.

“As members of the body of Christ, we cannot be whole without the full inclusion of transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive individuals,” the letter reads. It goes on to argue that “we will remain oppressors until we — as vowed Catholic religious — acknowledge the existence of LGBTQ+ people in our own congregations. We seek to cultivate a faith community where all, especially our transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive siblings, experience a deep belonging.”

The letter also states transgender people are “experiencing harm and erasure” in various ways, listing daily discrimination, a groundswell of state-level legislation aimed at LGBTQ rights and “harmful rhetoric from some Christian institutions and their leaders, including the Catholic Church.”

Anyone else desperately wishing they could go this year? Gotta say, seriously loving this artwork. It’s nice to see Amri with Spider-Tav, and is that Onica being saved by Tavra back when they first met? Also, if that’s Tavra being taken over by either a Threader in the show or a Crystal Singer in the books, holy spit! I swear, she has one of the hardest storylines in terms of suffering of any Gelfling in the AoR timeline. Poor Hup looks like he’s going through some post-losing-Deet-to-the-darkness blues, and Rian up top just looks like he might be drunk on life. I wish I could visit this booth. Maybe one year. To all those going, have fun for those of us who aren’t. For Thra! For Jim!

Life update for my followers. I’m not going to put hashtags on this one since it’s for my followers only. I have made it home. I am in a lot of pain, but it’s managed enough that I got to go home. I’m hanging with my parents, who have graciously agreed to take care of me. My parents are very nice people, so round of applause for them. A little about my condition, it is called Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. It is something that affects only 1% of the world’s population, at least according to the Google search that I did. 

As I mentioned in a previous post, my surgeon was surprised when he cut me open because my nerve was actually wrapped around my rib, which is pretty weird. I’m told the incision is actually pretty wide, which is cool, because some women dig scars, right? Anyway, now that I’m home, all I’ve been doing is resting, taking my meds (correctly. Always take your meds correctly folks) and watching The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, RWBY, The Owl House, and anything else with LGBT representation (emphasis on the L) that can get my mind off my pain. Once I’m feeling a bit better I will be working on my stories and my resume as I search for a job since I now have my degree. I may be an adult, but I will always be a geeky kid at heart, so don’t expect me to quit Tumblr any time soon. My passion for fantasy and LGBT will always be tied for first with my passion for equality and social work, which is the field I am going to be working in.

Hi fandom! I made it through surgery one rib lighter. I'm in pain with a drain tube in. It was a good decision though since my nerves were apparently wrapped around the bone. Hope to be back to full strength soon. TTYL! Love you all! For Thra!

To my dark crystal: aor followers and anyone else who cares, Imma give you guys a short life update cuz just as soon as I got back, I am forced to take a brief break. Don’t worry, it’s just until I can think coherently enough to use one hand to type. 

Y’see, I will be having a somewhat major surgery next week. I got a pinched nerve which causes pain in my shoulder, which is apparently caused by my rib. So the solution is to take out said rib and the muscles surrounding it.

The story I’ve been told by my surgeon is that your first ribs are basically a byproduct of evolution, so you really don’t need them anymore. They serve a function, but you can chuck them with no worries if you need to.

Personally, I choose to think it’s the rib that Adam gave us from that Bible story and since we don’t necessarily need men anymore we can choose to get rid of it if we want to lol
