Havent posted in five EVER but my oml my username has never fit better
Just came to freak out at 1 am about how i spent like 50 arrows trying to line up that one korok balloon shot in hyrule castle facing the entrance and i was about to switch to bomb arrows and hope that would make it easier
But being the stingy hoarder i am i didnt want to waste a bomb arrow without first lining up a shot that would at least hit the roof the balloon is floating by with a regular arrow
And so i line up the shot with the ballon and just aim up a random distance that i figured would hit the roof at least, and i even zoomed in with the scope to see if it did
but through the scope i see /my arrow hit the balloon/!!!!! ??? I clipped that shit real quick lmao, it isn't anything necessarily cool and definitely not skilled given it was a complete accident but that's exactly why im freaking out 😭!!! Wtf!!!!

I just found this blog bc of ur twitter post and i know my opinion doesnt matter at all lol, but on my end the one thing i dont like about tumblr "comments" is that. Unless you reblog, your comment/reply is tied to your main account. And, for me personally, i like to separate my fandom spaces. Hence me reblogging this to my zelda account lol.
Replying/commenting to a post would be a bit easier, but again, i don't prefer it, so i go through the couple extra steps to reblog instead. I sometimes feel too "intimidated" to reblog with text, and i think a lot of users do too oop, so, it's probably why we see less comment-type of interactions on this platform.
Idk why im rambling this on your post, sorry! 😅
some platform reflections~
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone on here - everyone who follows me, who has liked my posts, reblogged my posts, sent me an ask or a DM. You're all amazing :)
I've been struggling to "stay relevant" on other platforms like Twitter and Instagram - the latter especially. Insta has now become a weird echo of Tik Tok, a platform I never joined or practiced, and though I do actually have some reel ideas for fun, I am disliking the feeling of being pushed or low-key forced to make content if I want the same engagement I had in 2016-2019 (ah the golden years).
I also realize most of my art engagement came from drawing & posting Dan & Phil, and now that I've stopped, my traffic will never be the same, and I'm 100% okay with that. I draw for ME and because I enjoy sharing my work. But I can never deny that a significant part of me craves how the platform used to operate.
Just objective numbers wise, I used to get 10-15 comments per piece, usually regardless of fandom, and now I get 0-3 comments. It is a drastic dip and has affected me mentally, though I try my hardest to ignore it. My identity as an artist should not be tied so intimately to online engagement, but alas, here we are.
In the grand scheme of things (y'know, global events and the brink of society collapse) none of this really matters lol. I'm going to keep drawing bc it is one of the only avenues to happiness for me, and I'll continue sharing my art bc I like the attention (who doesn't haha) and I love the idea that maybe something I've created inspires others.
TLDR: click here if you want to follow me on insta, here if you want my Twitter, and thanks for sticking with me <3

Zelda reminds me of myself, to a less grand extent obviously. Typical fear of failure, suppressed issues manifesting in toxic—yes, toxic—behaviors like hardening yourself and becoming angry. I don't wanna trivialize anything but yeah I personally have some of that good ol' repressed rage and in a way Zelda does too imo.
Also, there could also be the factor of "gender", but that's just my personal interpretation. Who knows what Zelda's personal experience is, but for us girls in the real world, there often feels like there's additional pressure to succeed. Imo this pressure comes from WITHIN you, not society, bc for girls, standards seem either shamefully low or impossibly high. Zelda being a whole princess may have multiplied that pressure, and then to see Link, a boy/guy no less, fulfilling his role perfectly, well. For me that would just be salt in a lifelong wound.
I got sidetracked there a little but that's my take given my own life experience. I don't love Zelda bc she reminds me of myself (except I haven't accomplished anything XD) but I realize that she needs friendship and support just as much as the rest of us. Because I understand why she is the way she is and acts the way she has. Fortunately she seems to be healing and getting better. But some people with different life experiences might not understand her.
This is pretty disjointed bc I'm trying to fit a bunch of things in all at once and it's midnight but those were my two cents
Ok so ya, I know botw Zelda doesn’t get *as much* hate as other Nintendo Ladies (like fucking peach), but whenever she does, I legitimately CANNOT TAKE IT! Call it overreacting, I don’t care! She is one of the best Zeldas in the entire franchise, for a multitude of reasons: all of which I will present here for you today
Tumblr media
I know some people got mad at her because she was MeAn To LiNk and Oh nO that’s ToXiC! But the thing is, I completely understand why she acted the way she did. Not that she should’ve, but still. We all know how Zelda’s mother passed away when she was only six years old, but the thing I have to say about it is that King Rhoam said she never cried or faultered. He also said that it may have been because he and *presumably the queen before her death* kept pressuring her to be a strong leader. And I quote;
“I must assume her strength is a result of us repeatedly informing her of her duty to be a valiant and steady princess.”
This means that Zelda was already under immense pressure from both her parents when the prophecy was first foretold. And when the queen died, it was all down hill from there. Something important I realized is, knowing Urbosa for sure attended the Queen’s funeral and saw Zelda there, she wrote in her journal that she later made an excursion to Hyrule Castle where she saw Zelda “for the first time in a year”. This means Zelda is canonically seven, and she and Urbosa both go to one of Zelda’s prayer sessions to the goddess.
Of course the outcome is fruitless and Zelda almost freezes to death since she refused to leave the water until her prayers were answered. Urbosa eventually had to drag her ass outta there! Zelda is SEVENNN years old, and she’s already willing to go to extreme measures to protect her people and her kingdom from the threat of an evil being that would for sure make any child terrified! This also means that she never had time to be a kid and enjoy a carefre, loving childhood. The king is being more demanding than supportive, she has lost her mother who is also her teacher, and she has to navigate everything by herself without any guidance. Shit must be rough!
And contrary to some believe, Zelda did not *hate* Link... ever. She was also not “thirsty in denial”. She did not know Link at all, and vice versa, so she could not really have an opinion on him. She was simply envious and discouraged because the hero was excelling in his destiny while she, the princess, was falling behind in hers. Zelda may have snapped at Link before, but she always felt incredibly guilty afterwards and even wrote about it in her journal. Not to mention the only reason she yelled at him was because she was dealing with the stresses of malfunctioning technology, being followed everywhere by an expressionless guy who she thinks hates her guts, her own people talking bad about her behind her back, AND her powers still aren’t awakening! So needless to say she is the definition of crippling anxiety.
When Zelda was saved by Link from the Yiga clan in the desert, I’m sure it wasn’t the stereotypical “love at first sight” deal. I’m willing to bet that Zelda had enough of his silence and wanted to get to know him for real, thus prompting her to apologize for all that’s transpired between them. She was probably like “I can’t just be an aquatintence with this guy who just saved my life, I need to be friends with him”! Like I mentioned before, Zelda’s opinion on Link as a person was neutral, and she actually believed he despised her. So it was AFTER they started getting more comfortable with each other that Zelda inevitably began developing feelings for Link.
The reason I put this here was because many people didn’t like how Zelda followed the boring trope of “one-sided enemies until one of them saves the other from certain death”. This wasn’t the case. Feelings with boys aren’t something that Zelda has had time for with all that’s going on, and she never expected to catch them for Link anyway. Her “stares in awe” in that memory were only because she realized Link would go as far as KILL someone who would try and hurt her (even Urbosa didn’t kill those two footsoldiers in the desert). Link could have easily disabled or hurt them before straight up murder, and given the fact that Zelda truly believed Link hated her, she kinda got the speculation that that wasn’t the deal. She wanted to finally try and understand him, so that the rest of their time spent as knight and charge won’t be merely something to tolerate , but for them willing to be there for the other in times of need.
Eventually it worked since the two canonically become very close, and it’s also true that Zelda does harbor some romantic feelings towards Link, but whether those feelings are returned is unknown (for now 😏). What we do know is that Zelda’s love for Link wasn’t what awakened her power. Sure it may have been a part of it, but I realize some people believe it was out of pure pining for her knight, which unsurprisingly brings up some gamers who don’t like zelink being part of the major plot.
Lets look at everything that’s happened to Zelda the moment Ganon woke up: she lost her father, many people in her kingdom were slaughtered, possibly everyone in the castle got killed straight away, all the Champions were murdered, and most of the ancient technology was corrupted. Hyrule could have all the advanced tech and talented warriors they want, but one things for sure: Ganon can never be stoped without Zelda and her power. And it was when Ganon was about to take Link, the one thing she had left, that she was finally able to unleash said power to obliterate any evil within a radius. It was several factors piled on to each other, and it did include her love for Link, but he was just the breaking point for her.
Zelda is also very powerful. Although we have little information about this, I personally believe that Zelda was conscious over the last 100 years despite her power putting her in some kind of stasis similar to Link. She’s been watching over her country and people for a century, and would later (much later), do the same for Link on his journey. The thing I love about this Zelda is that she’s not a damsel in distress, but not the badass hero either. She’s a little bit of both, and the same goes for Link. The story makes it clear that the princess and hero need each other to defeat the evil. Their power can not be compared or contrasted and they both play a role in saving the day. You can’t say that Link is more powerful than Zelda, or that Zelda is more powerful than Link, because the uniqueness in their separate abilities make it impossible to apply any criteria.
What I also love is that this Zelda is not necessarily a fighter. Other incarnations were seen wielding a bow or being skilled in agility, etc. But this is the first Zelda who is a nerd, and loves researching ancient robotics and machinery. I tend to see lots of people romanticize Zelda’s intelligence for the sake of a zelink fic or something, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but attention all fic writers!!! I want to raise you a new trope: SUPER Einstein ZELDA! I personally headcanon that Zelda is a skilled mathematician and PhD level engineer! A Zelda who is willing to compute high level equations and numbers in less than a minute by hand! We’re talking Katherine Johnson, Margaret Hamilton, Rosalind Franklin TYPE SHIT!!! Give me a Zelda who was able to revolutionize education and mathematics in Hyrulean history. She would be able to understand advanced physics and philosophy, memorizing several methods and strategies to build and strengthen technology!!! Not to mention it’s canon that Zelda can identify several species of wildlife, knows how to make complex elixirs and shit, AND was the one who helped restore functionality to the divine beasts! Ya know, those robots capable of moving on their own means and can generate enough force to plow through a mountain!!! Intelligence is not only “her face adorably lit up as her nose was cuddled between the pages of a vintage novel”. It can be changing the world with your powerful brain cells! It can be teaching people your research and sparking an educational revolution! It can be QuEsTiOniNg AuThOriTy!!! Leggo fic writers, a new prompt (if you’d like)...
So thank you for coming to my Tumblr Talk, please come again the next time I feel like I want to rant about something.
