It was rare for that particular room to be empty at any time but especially during service. Today though, Dean and Cas found themselves alone with only the distant sounds of the kitchen reminding them that solitude was fleeting.
Dean could have left the moment his hands were free of dishes, but that soft look in Cas’ eyes was playing on his mind and he wanted one more glimpse of it before he braved lunch service on garnish with someone who already seemed frazzled.
Cas put his own stack of pans down and turned to face Dean, pleasantly surprised to find him still there and not on his way into the kitchen, which he really ought to have been. Oh well, who was he to complain? He took one quick look around to make sure they were in fact alone before reaching out to Dean and pulling him by the back of the neck into a slow, warm kiss.
Dean’s hands quickly found their way to Cas’ waist and he sighed into his lips. It wasn’t a long kiss, but it was a damn good one. Dean pulled back just enough to smile at Cas.
‘Hello, Dean.’ Cas’s voice was deep and seemed to rumble through Dean before settling in a spot behind his ribs. He smiled at Cas and gave him another quick kiss, savoring the way his hip felt in his hand.
‘Hey, Cas.’ He took a step back and made a point of committing the feeling of Cas’ fingers trailing down his arm as they separated to memory. ‘Can I see you later?’
‘I’d love it if you did. Same time, same place?’ Cas’ fingers lingered on Dean’s for a moment before seeking out the spaces in between them.

At 11:56, he crept into the living room and put his notebook on the coffee table before stealing back into the yard. He looked at his watch and tried to ignore the voice in his head that taunted him with assurances that Cas was going to stand him up when he heard a faint knock at the back gate.
As quietly as he could with his shaking fingers, he slid the lock over and opened the gate before stepping into the alleyway and pulling it closed behind him.

‘Oh good, you made it.’ whispered Castiel, pulling Dean into a chaste kiss and then stepping back to grin at him.
‘Wouldn’t miss it for the world.’ Dean whispered back, those familiar butterflies in his chest practically screaming in joy.
‘Come on.’ Said Cas, grabbing Dean’s hand and pulling him around the side of the building and in through a solid glass door which he had to swipe an access card to open.
They tiptoed up the stairs and along a corridor, giggling in whispers and gripping each other’s hands and arms. Dean hadn’t felt like this since god knows when, and he allowed himself to revel in the joy of it all.
They were delayed slightly at Cas’ front door owing to his hands shaking while he was trying to navigate the lock. When they eventually made it inside, Castiel wasted no time in pushing the door shut and pushing Dean up against it, kissing his lips, his cheek, his jaw, his neck.
