Not travel related but as I have come to this conclusion while in Vietnam I am adding it.
I know its a day late but….for Trans Day of Visibility I’m going to start working harder at living authentically and supporting myself.
I IDENTIFY AS A THEY.
Sometimes I will accept she, her, he, him…but I prefer THEY.
I am allowed to ask people to try to remember my pronouns.
I am giving myself permission from now on to tell people my pronouns, to ask that they try to remember.
I acknowledge that it is hard, I also KNOW that by living as my authentic self:
I AM NOT BEING RUDE.
This has been my biggest hurdle with wanting to be properly addressed.I feel like I am being a horrible inconvenience because I know that THEY is hard for people. But after living in Vietnam for almost a year, surrounded by people (local and expat) who are not on the same gender savy wave link that I am, it is not a PHASE. I still feel like a they, even when I have to explain to people over and over and over again what non gender is, why I feel this way.
I’m tired of denying myself who I am. I’m tired of keeping my mouth shut because I don’t want to be rude. I’m tired of pretending, that every time someone calls me Girl or lumps me in with the LADIES, I am no crying a bit inside. I’m tired of feeling like an inconvenience just because I identify a bit differently.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to have your identity acknowledged. Just because I haven’t made any huge changes or made any alterations (and am not sure if i will) this does not mean that I am CIS. I have had issues with my gender identity now for over 10 years. Its not going to change anytime soon nor should it.
So please remember if you are chatting with me, just because it’s not obvious, doesn’t mean its not there. Im going to work on being more vocal about myself, I need you to help support me.
THEY Not travel related but as I have come to this conclusion while in Vietnam I am adding it.

So i haven’t really added anything because there hasn’t been anything really to talk about. My classroom group is made up of three people, myself and two girls: Olivia and Molly. Both are from very small towns one in Missouri the other Alabama. They are both very nice and as they put it (all on their own mind you!) have experimented with women, so pretty good so far. Both are very open minded, though the Alabama one is a little iffy here and there (she supports Chick fi la!). Shrug…takes all types I guess.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this is where I have been:
The chairs in this class room are a nightmare, whoever thought heavy wood was a great type of furniture should be shot. All the tables/chairs in the hotel are the same way. Definitely make you sit up and pay attention, which is needed as the classes are from 9am to 5pm. This week is just basics but starting Monday we will be going to a Korean orphanage and doing one hour of teaching a day! Trying to think positive thoughts about this, but not going to lie, terrified.
Here is where I have been having my meals, by the way the whole open lobby area and cafeteria has no A/C! But the food is way cheap.
Friday we will be taking a trip to Siem Reap, so I will be sure to give more frequent updates and information about the ruins there and such.

A first day in Cambodia
A first day in Cambodia
On Sunday I met the first person from my group, one of only two people who had signed up for in country training. Her name is Olivia and she is from a small town in Missouri. We enjoyed breakfast together and in the afternoon we went on a took took tour around the city. Unfortunately at our first stop, which was an outside temple pavilion,  it began to rain within minutes of us exploring. Did I…

Alice Sweet Alice - November 13, 1977
Direct by - Alfred Sole
Alice Sweet Alice, was a slasher film from the 70′s that has been on my list for awhile now. Focused around the actions of a very disturbed teenager, this film was a good scream and very enjoyable to watch. I love older slasher films were there plot is a twist, the murders aren’t too campy, and everything doesn’t turn into a gore porno. Alice Sweet Alice has just the right amount of blood, psychopath, and store to keep watchers entertained. Its little wonder that nearly 40 years later this films still frightens.
The plot follows the story of a 12 year old named Alice, who from the beginning, is odd. The question of this movie though, is she bad enough to be our killer or is she a cleverly disguised red herring for the real murderer?
I’m not going to write a plot summary for this one as it is too good to ruin.
I give this film a 5 out of 5.

flannel plaid. God dammit that it is in fashion right now. How do you dress like a dapper butch without just looking like a 90's grunge lesbian? I know that it is the national pattern of my people but do I have to really fulfill a stereotype? I just can't get behind this renewed fad.

Female empowerment? What do you guys think about the Ada line?

Silicon Valley has churned out solutions for many of society’s problems. Underwear brand Dear Kate enlisted female tech-industry leaders to model its Ada Collection, a line named after Ada Lovelace, the 19th-century mathematician often credited as the world’s first computer programmer. One image of Quiessence Phillips, an information security professional, in lacy underwear includes this quote: “It is important to have more women in technology because women want to solve different problems—the kind that are life changing,” Dear Kate has long eschewed traditional lingerie marketing by featuring nontraditional models.
What do you guys think? Is this one step back?

Can you count the number of times sexism comes into this commercial?
I just watched it while enjoying a show on Hulu. It is clear that this commercial is pointed towards only half of the population.
What do you think?
