               james henderson, thirty-nine, trainer and healer

     Born and raised in the "beautiful" city of San Fransisco, California. His father was the Branch manager of the  City Bank a few blocks from his house and his mom was on the City Counsel. Raised as he was in a very high end home, he was one of the first students to be accepted into Stanford University. He studied for four years and majored in Criminal Justice and minored in Emergency Medicine. After graduation he was hired in San Fransisco as a Police Officer. Eh served on the force for 7 years, working every position from Traffic Cop to Homicide Detective.  After that he quit and was hired by the Federal Protective Service of the Department of Homeland Security and stationed in Washington D.C., Boston and now Richmond. His father, Aaron Henderson, lives with him due to Aaron's inability to live on his own. Aaron Henderson was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when James was 32, and when James turned 34 he had his father move in with him. James has been caring for his father ever since. His father is now at Stage Five of Alzheimer's. 

     James pulled into the driveway, putting the Honda Accord into park and grabbing the jug of milk from the passenger seat. His dad always liked to have milk with his dinner, and since he had to start cooking in about 10 minutes if he wanted it to be on time, he figured it'd be best to grab the milk now. He jumped out and locked the car door when he heard a commotion from inside the house and a yell. It sounded like a neighbor had come to check on his father again. He jogged up to the house, sure his father had forgotten who the neighbor was again.

     "Dad?" He called, jogging up the steps and into the open doorway. "James!" A strangled yell responded from the living room down the hall. James dropped the milk on the table beside the door and jogged down the hall, calling out, "Dad, it's okay it's just the-" He turned the corner and spotted his father with the fire poker in hand, cornered at the car end of the room. He recognized the figure walking, or more like stumbling, towards his father, as the woman who lived next door. "Dad, put the poker down, it's okay, it's just Hannah! She lives next door!"

     His father screamed back, "James, get the gun, she's trying to attack me! Hurry!" And with that he shoved the poker into Hannah's chest. James lunged forward with a strangled cry of "No!" and seized Hannah from behind, pulling her away from his father. Hannah left out a gurgling breath as the poker retracted from her skin. He pulled her back to try to look at the wound and Hannah immediately reached for for his hair and with a strangled moan begin to pull his head towards hers. The force behind the grip was incredible- no woman he'd ever met had strength like that. And this woman wasn't a pound over 120! With a grunt he peeled her fingers out of his hair and dropped her. She landed heavily on the floor  and without a second's hesitation attempted to struggle back to her feet. James backed away as the woman let out a strangled moan, confusion written all over his face.

     What in the world was going on? Just as he began to decide on what he was doing about the whole situation and Hannah was back on her feet, His dad hobbled past him and hit the woman in the leg. The swing carried surprising strength and the audible bone snapping was heard. James grabbed the stick from his father with another yell, using his own arm to bar his father's access to the girl, horrified about what had just happened. a bi of the white bone had punctured her thigh and jeans, but the woman in front of them seemed to have no regard for that. She lunged forward and fell, grabbing Aaron's ankle as she went down. With a yelp he staggered as she began to drag the foot towards her mouth. With a sudden burst of confidence James swung the poker, burying the end of it in Hannah's skull. The woman struggled a second more and then lay still. What the fucking hell was going on?
