can't stop thinking about how buck is very much still on the hamster wheel. him being with a man doesn't change that. he's still letting relationships just. happen to him. yes discovering his sexuality was a big, BIG step but in terms of the actual relationship. he's still doing the same thing. he still 'found himself in a relationship with no idea what to do when things start to go wrong'. he still had to be told 'use your big boy words and talk to your partner' by a third party to fix his relationship. the fact that this is a man is the ONLY thing different about this relationship and relationships past. he is still. stuck in the same cycle. i don't know where they're going with this relationship but. buck's romantic woes are not Fixed yet "off the hamster wheel" show me where. he's just running a little slower babes

New WIP, hope you enjoy

The day started just like any other; Buck woke up to his alarm blaring, slapping around in his nightstand until it shut off, he forced himself out of bed, made a double shot coffee which he practically inhaled, before running out of the house, barely remembering to lock the door behind him. So the day started out like any other but now he’s in the hospital and he can’t remember why.

His head aches as he twists in the uncomfortable bed, turning to see a man sleeping in a chair pulled beside him. Buck’s not quite sure who this man is, other than that they may just be the most beautiful man that Buck has ever met. His soft brown hair is sticking out in every direction but he looks absolutely adorable. Buck’s not sure he’s supposed to have this kind of reaction to seeing a strange man in his hospital room but he’s never been one to make good decisions — he did steal a fire truck to go hook up with a girl like a month ago.

Buck groans where he lays, he’s lucky he still has his job he shouldn’t be thinking about more ways to lose it again. The noise startles the man beside him from his slumber. Deep brown eyes stare back at him. Buck swears he could get lost in them.

“Buck? Buck, you awake?” The man beside him says frantically, rising from his seat to stand over Buck.

Demisexual.” Eddie's been reading a lot. The term that has come the closest for him has been Demisexual biromantic, but the words are still hard to push out. He figures the more he says them, the more he accepts himself, it will get easier. It's a work in progress, but he's getting there. A few beats of silence and then Abuela’s hands are cupping his face and gently guiding him to look at her. “Eddito, I'll love you no matter what, okay? This changes nothing.” She says, the softest of smiles playing on her lips and her eyes shining with nothing but love and adoration. “I'm so proud of you, you know that?” or: Abuela is the first person Eddie comes out to.

Ngl I’m not feeling as excited for the back half of season 7 😕.

I’m excited for Maddie and Chim to finally get married and for whatever bachelor party shenanigans happen, but aside from that I’m just .. the excitement is lacking.

Okay, but I propose that the Buckley parents are not shocked Buck is dating a man.

They are, however, shocked that it's not the man who refused to leave the hospital while Buck was in a coma. The one with the sad eyes who pretended to be fine for everyone else, but whose voice broke just a little every time they overheard him arguing with his son over kids not being allowed in the ICU. The one who, three years earlier, had sat with them in the firehouse loft and talked of Buck like he was something precious. Who, while everyone else told tales of his heroics, told stories of weekends at home and trips to the zoo, and something that sounded a lot like family. The man whose eyes were soft for Buck, but flashed fierce, protective anger for them when they bothered to look.

(Anyway, I have two very strong headcanons at play in this post. The first: that Eddie never left the hospital while Buck was in his coma. The second: that Eddie lead the charge talking up Buck while the Buckley's waited for his return in 4x05 because if Buck's own parents weren't going to love him the way he deserved, Eddie sure as hell was going to make them regret it.)
