I am a dead poet's society fan who is also a swiftie.

However, I did not watch the movie because of the album and I'm tired of all the people who are putting her down due to absolutely no reason?

Like, you might not like her music and I respect that wholeheartedly but if you think you are better than others because you don't like a popular artist and think ger music is 'basic' and it 'sucks' then please get a life. If you think she is a serial dater who only writes songs about her exes - then that's blatant mysogyny because 1. She doesn't, 2. Who doesn't.

I did not expect this from the dead poets society fandom. Hating a popular artist does not give you a personality please.

I dislike a lot of artists, some of them are popular but I have never made a single post about how seemingly shallow they are. I hate to break it to you, haters you are equally, if not much more obsessed with her than we are.

And she has written so. many. songs that are dead poets society coded (evermore, my tears ricochet, hoax, exile, the lakes, this is me trying, mirrorball, forever winter). She is a respected songwriter who can weave wonderful stories if you are willing to check them out.( if you think you could've written folkmore in your notes app - release the album king )( and no one is saying all her stuff is poetic- but a lot of it is )

The Dead Poets fandom is a sacred place abd it's not being overcome by 'shallow white girls' ( because everything a teenage girl likes has to be annoying and stupid ).

You do not become a more profound person by making hate posts all day. Makes you look extremely pathetic.

When I watched DPS with my family when I was around 12 my parents told me that Todd was gay and that he had a crush on Neil.. so I believed this to be canonical fact up until I was 19 and watching the movie again for the first time with my college friends and I told them that Todd was gay right as the movie started but by the end we were like hey why didn’t they even mention the fact that Todd’s gay and we googled it and found out it was just a fan theory BUT IT WAS REAL TO ME!!

in a weird way, i think “the corspe bride” would really comfort todd after neil died. it’s about an undead woman who believes she will only be happy if she’s loved, and she can finally go into the afterlife after she realizes she needs to love herself.

i think it would make him realize that he can’t just wait for something amazing to happen, and that he should try to move on.
