I can think of plenty of canon evidence to argue why this would never be the case, but I still think it would be really funny if the whole “The Gerudo only give birth to 1 man every 100 years and he becomes ruler by default because this 99% female society is somehow still patriarchal” was an in-universe translation error from when the Hylians and Gerudo were trying to figure out each other’s languages.

Once, long ago, the Hylians were explaining how their monarchy works in rudimentary, broken Gerudo: “in the line succession for the throne, one type of person (male heirs) have priority over another (female heirs)” and the Gerudo representative in their own mediocre Hylian responded: “oh yeah we also do that thing where one group of people (born with magic) has priority over another (born without magic/has weak magic) in the line of succession” and they both just assume those are the same groups for a really long time

So they spent decades conflating “male and female” with “magic user and non-magic user ” in each other’s language and it took so long to notice that the words they were using didn’t actually have the same meaning that they just stuck with it anyways, so now men are still banned from the city as a tradition even though it was originally that mages were banned

This would explain:

Why “male Gerudo” are so rare

Why said “male” would be preferred for the throne

Why the Gerudo can keep up their population without just straight up becoming Hylians over time

Why “males” are banned from the town without an official permit; too dangerous to just have a bunch of wizards walking around your city made out of sand and they saw what that last guy could do with magic

and the Hylians just ran with this misconception because the Gerudo as a whole mostly resemble big female Hylians so they looked at the Gerudo and were like “ok yeah that 99:1 female to male ratio checks out” but they just look like that because they’re a different species and have very little sexual dimorphism like Gorons.
