@tortilla-of-courage’s hero of polls <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Actually my scrunky. My meow meow. Is there a name for their fairy? If not, i vote for ‘hyah’. Are they really really itty bitty, or is the master sword fuckin massive? You decide.
I’ll draw the princess of polls once they’ve finished with their time in the trenches

It's the cowboy in me trying to escape through creative means Wrangle's Lore dump is here!!! He's... hmmmmm... basically a Link that became an Epona
Poor guy comes from a Hyrule where everyone is enjoying the peace a little too much. So much so that when the residents of the Central City heard some country kid was being claimed as the hero, they're a little reluctant to be living through another dark time in Hyrule's history. A hero showing up means terrible things, so whats a city of snobs to do but bully this "Link" child. He runs from a crowd that had gotten a hold of him and ends up where the Triforce chills out and accidentally makes a wish to the darn thing from his pleas. "I dont want to be seen as the hero. I want to run away." And the Triforce said "Bet." Next thing Link knows is he's standing on shaking foal legs and a golden set of reins settles on his head. He couldn't do much as guards heard the commotion only to find this pony hanging about and hey free horse with a side of panic as their golden relic is completely gone. Years past and Link gets the reputation of being a brute, but does enjoy watching the people panic over a doomsday that hasn't really shown any evidence at happening. He gets to live life as a work horse and bucking cocky lawmen off of him. Until one day the infamous horse thief, Midna, stops by and skips him to go after the other horses first. Only she has to hide in his stall at almost being caught before she could leave with the last horse. The guards are furious that he's the only horse left and if they can't ride him what's the point. They gang up on him to be sold and buy other horses to another farmer, butcher, glue factory, anything. Link bucks and fights but theres too many of them. But when he all but gives up Midna comes tearing out of her hiding spot and fights her way through the guards on him. She gets real hurt in the fight, but Link charges towards her and all but throws her on his back as he bolts out of the city. They get away and have a mutual respect for one another and are pals from then on. Link never really reveals he's a person, he just stays as a loyal steed. It's simpler to him.

Meet this asshole. I don't got a hero name for him yet so he's just goin' by "Drac". His is more mixed clash of bloodbourne, castlevania and the witcher. You'll prolly see some similar themes in here.
Info: He's 6ft 8in / 203 cm. A vampire. His timeline is sommeewhere before?? Signal's (in modern terms of era, he's def late 1700s to early/mid 1800s). He's an ass to put it short, stoic upon meeting yet can be very gruff/blunt. A lone wolf that likes to do things his way. Definitely a flirt for sure. He's softie when he grows close to those he consider his family.
Background: Drac/Link was born a vampire, just like his family. He grew up in a village south of the Snowy Peaks that ended up becoming smaller due to a raid from a pack of outlawed werewolves. He, of course, lost his family in the process, save for his little sister and a few of the remaining survivors of said village. It was hard on him growing up without his family, hard to survive since he had to take on the adult mantle too soon. He's trying his best to keep his sister alive, due to the poison from a werewolf bite that was inflicted upon her during the raid.
She remains bedridden or bound to a wheelchair cause of the weakness and agony she feels each time she tries to stand. He hates seeing her so sickly and bound to a room with no freedom to run like she once used to do.
Drac did happen upon the werewolf that killed his family, poisoned his sister and help the others raid his village. The wolf taunted him to which he responds in kind with a longsword impaling the wolf's chest, stripping the wolf bare of it's fur and wearing it to taunt the outlawed.
His Hyrule has become over run with harder monsters and outlaws that it's quite difficult to travel anywhere without being threatened by any of these beings. Of course, the call of a hero is beckoning him forth to answer, drawing him away from his dear sister yet he has no choice but to answer. He's desperate to save her, maybe the princess has an answer.

Fateful Meeting
Exerpt from The Mage's Lantern (Chapter 2, The Hero) in sketched comic form. Click for better quality.
I couldn't get a good quality shot of the page 💔
Small update: I'm making a lot of progress on little worldbuilding/imaginary gameplay posts atm, as well as a Master Post for this AU! It's going well. :)
Read The Mage's Lantern on Ao3!
For a little over a decade, the Kingdom of Hyrule has been reshaped by a curse of eternal storms. A vengeful mage and his master, a sorcerer who was once an ordinary man before being driven to insanity, have laid waste to all lands within their magical border. When a young boy named Link finds his own motivations piling up, he joins a fire spirit and a runaway princess to save not only those they have lost; but perhaps those who remain.

So all of these guys I got are just a bunch of LOZ "what if" AU's and Plants is: What if Link was the forest sage?
So he's the forest sage. Always lived in the forest and doesn't have a destiny telling him to leave. So he doesn't leave. He doesn't really like pondering about the outside world, and the thought of other people seeing him makes him real nervous. What's that? How would he know of the outside world if he stays in the forest anyways??
But ah! In canon even the Great Deku Tree knows about hyrule proper, and same here where Link of course knows about the outside kingdom. He even knows about the Princess and her best friend the Gerudo prince, Ganondorf.
In fact, the both of them would visit him ever since they were all kids. Many times they'd come to the forest to spend time with their little forest friend. Zelda, ever the artist, wanted to have a way where they can stay with him longer and came up with the idea of painted flower pots that hold domestic plants for him.
All over the inside of the forest temple and even outside there are tons of flower pots they've pained together. He loves all of them and takes care of all his new plant friends.
The goodbyes are bittersweet knowing they'll visit again, but always knowing Link is alone whenever they're not there. One day they hope Link can join them outside the forest. Maybe on a road trip around the country and share their world with him for once.
But for now he seems very set on staying in the forest and reassures them he's fine and can't wait for them to visit again.

If these two hit a tavern, the night would end with Deer having to drag/carry Vault back to where ever they're staying. Not because Vault is a lightweight, but because for his size, Deer is a heavyweight and Vault is ready to pass out way before he is.

WHOA I just saw your tags about your OC Lost?? He got possessed??? And was hunting down Zelda??? I need more details!!
Yeah... he doesn’t have a good time 😅 I’m still working stuff out about him, but he’s been an oc of mine for a while now so I have a bunch of details :) Poor Link gets possessed, corrupted, something like that, by a purple-themed villain of some kind (Vaati-esque, though I haven’t decided if it should be him or someone else). Said Villain is posing as an ambassador at the castle from a foreign land, gathering information while he builds up his forces elsewhere.
He hears about the princess having visions of darkness, and preparing to send a group of knights to look in some woods where the Master Sword supposedly is. He knows the hero will disrupt all his plans if he lets him run loose, so he waits by the woods, and cuts off the group of knights that are headed there. He corrupts Link somehow (still working that out), and and only knight escapes in order to inform the castle of what’s happened.
Link happens to be Zelda’s best friend, and she was sure he would be the one to pull the blade, so his possession is a bad blow to her. She’s not sure what to do, but then Impa gets her head on straight and tells her to go out and find the legendary sages that are scattered around Hyrule. Impa herself would do it but she’s older here, and knows that Zelda will be drawn to them and will be able to find them much more quickly.
But anyway. Link is only barely aware of what’s going on. The hero’s sprit part of him got essentially sealed away, overcome by darkness, and he’s not acting of his own volition at all. He’s tasked with hunting down Zelda/the sages and stopping her, and if this were a real zelda game he would function a lot like the ghirahim fights in skyward sword.
To make matters worse, Link was one of the best knights at the castle, and is incredibly skilled with a blade. The only thing that stops him from being insanely overpowered is that sometimes... he hesitates. Just a little. Only when he fights Zelda. And it’s just enough for Zelda to beat him back and keep going.
He also doesn’t do well against light magic, but Zelda’s powers aren’t honed enough to just easily purify him. And honestly she’s scared to try in case she hurts or even kills him.
He does get freed in time to help with the final battle (kinda windwaker/spirit tracks style where Zelda helps you, only you’re Zelda and Link is the one helping), but he’s horrified at what he’s been doing this entire time, and it takes him a long while to accept that he did everything he could.
And Zelda doesn’t blame him a bit, but when Link looks at the scars she has now, some that he gave her... it’s a lot.
