IS UNDERGOING A STRESSFUL TIME, PLEASE BE PATIENTDemon Lord of the Round TableThe TRUE RazgrizYes, that one//He/Him//18//Discworld, Sonic, Ace Combat, Bionicle fan//Student of History//Believes the War of Jenkins Ear should be taught in UK schools//Being pro-trans rights - TERFS DNI, pro-LGBTQ+, anti-ableism, anti-racism, anti-Military Industrial Complex, anti-war, anti-over-bloated military, (feel as though I have to point those last 3 out due to the account theming) and so on and so forth is a given here, right?
i just wanna say, as a feeding tube haver, that it's so much more possible to get used to invasive medical devices than you might fear.
i grew up horrified by even being reminded organs exist. i was just so severely grossed out by human anatomy. i got a lot better about it through years of chronic illness, since you just have to get used to it. but that's the baseline i started from originally, in case you are also squeamish and wonder if it's possible for that to change.
so when i needed a feeding tube, i was pretty distressed by the idea. having a tube sticking through a new hole in my abdomen was a seriously horrifying concept, and i couldn't imagine coping with having a stoma (the hole) and caring for it etc. i did it because i needed it to survive but thought i might never get used to it.
and yeah, it freaked me out at first. but eventually i did just get used to it. it just feels normal now. i even feel affection towards it, because it is keeping me alive.
This is the current boycott list my family is using
If anyone wants to add some more things to their boycott list but aren't sure what. I got this list from a video of Palestinian children holding up the brand logos asking us to boycott these brands. If anyone has that video feel free to attach it.
"At least 27 children have died because of dehydration and malnutrition in the Northern Gaza Strip. These tragic and horrific deaths are man-made, predictable and entirely preventable." -UNRWA
If somebody broke into my home, stabbed me and was actively trying to murder me, I wouldn’t ask them politely to stop. I would claw and kick and bite and scream, anything in my power to get them to stop, to get them away from me. I would have no qualms about harming them and nobody would expect me to
So no, I do not think that Palestinians should lie down like good, obedient, sacrificial lambs and ask Israel if they could please stop slaughtering them, they have spent 75 YEARS like this, and Israel has never stopped attacking and slaughtering them even ONCE.
It is not the responsibility of the oppressed to cater to their oppressor. You can not reason with somebody who has made it clear they view you as sub-human and want nothing more than to slaughter you and all your people.
And you can genuinely go fuck yourself with your ignorant, privileged, white-supremacist bullshit
i think "it takes a village" shouldn't be just "to raise a child". we should understand it takes a village to do literally everything we do. all day every day. without our communities we would not have drinking water or electricity or clean streets or food or shelter or anything. we cannot do any thing alone. we just can't. and with that comes the fact that you are not alone. you already have a community, seek to be an active part of it, you will feel better. reach out and thank them, they're happy to have you too. i promise. it takes a village to live.
