i will count this as a win bc i was able to get all the normal gacha characters i want at the moment, finishing it up this time w ilnott, sturm, and selfira ignore the fact i got characters i didnt want lol

tbh that also means the only characters i want that i dont have would be grand studra + maybe the holiday seasonal ilnotts? idk i just think shes neat and deserves better than how the main cast treat her. weird girls with glasses my beloved

i think if they ever add gareth/din as a playable character id want to roll her (but she might not come home. honestly ragazzo is the only nice one who came home immediately lol, summer sturm and summer bel too) but its hard for me to think of any other characters. marie would be awesome but very unlikely, unless maybe they had marie + toby in a super suit robot thing or something, which would be also really unlikely. honestly a team of marie + gareth + caro (or even bel + caro + gareth) for npc squad would be so goated but idk if itll ever be possible

oh and i did get bel summon too! pls be playable eventually.... tho considering the writers hate him i am doubtful

honestly

i feel like in -go for my faves its very much a matter of pick your poison. like i was trying to be neutral towards those ships for probably a year or so bc it at least wasnt sal and (character who abused him), either of them. but now after the story stuff i dislike that ship all over again, and all the content is of both of them (or sal with the character who literally had him killed in the most underhanded way)

even w izou and cu its the same sorta thing. its just like. pick which love interest you want to exclusively see him interacting with when you dont even ship it, or for the former its just a crapshoot of if the shippy art is of the person he has a strong bond of or the retconned version of that person who happily let his wife die and took up super powers bc of some convoluted romance plot

bruh a real one step forward five million steps back moment fr. we had samurai remnant (fun and enjoyable crossover event. only downside is only now i find out robot mozart and yui have the same voice actor and i aquiesced to not rolling her bc she wouldnt come home and now i am full of regret. tho to be fair robot mozart happened long after the event lol), valentines (awesome new servant! andromeda is cute and i feel completely neutral but not negative on the take on her character! charon was cool too), and white day (usually i am so irritated at the cut ins but charly is so good natured and honest i cant be mad at him. he just feels like the good energetic boy coming in to check on you every morning. and cyrano is just so peak -pacha meme- the rest of the cast was wonderful too). but then. oh then. you had to just fucking do main story stuff. like yea sure some cringily fanservice power level edge thing with d antes and j alter is inevitable and whatever. but bring sal into it??????? only to not give him fucking anything????? and then permanently delete him, lobo, and any other half tolerable avenger (angra ig. or kuroe?) bc the edgey op fanservice characters need their wangst. ugh. the plot isnt even out but i imagine its something like- sal is typecast into himself and hates every second of it, moz bullies him bc its moz and the feeling is mutual, but evil marie takes advantage of it and him and the fandom reads it as cute. same w d antes or j alter and him. im so done w their reaction to the trio it makes me just disgusted. if the two of them treated him better id be more on board but they dont. just bc sal believes theyre on the same wavelength doesnt mean its some cute fluffy nonsense you can just slice of life. i think it cuts personal bc ive believed to be on the same wavelength of others and thats why im so fucked up today is bc of what happened there. and above all i dont want sal to have to go through that sort of suffering, esp on top of all his other suffering.

also if i had a nickel for every time a fictional somewhat m arie a ntoinette has ruined the life of my favorite dead composer character i would have two nickles which is weird that it happened twice.

lb1 (apr 2018)- 10/10. blindfold sal that is all. but no really. his first intro, caddock trying to break his legs, getting brainwashed and treated like a tool, finally finding people who will have him, getting beaten up and sent to a prison to be executed later, knowing the world is doomed and staying behind to share music with the people for the first and last time. peak sal content i love you

cf golden week (may 2019)- 5/10. eh. he had such a small role in the overall story and it was all a simulation. to be fair i dont think the player was mean to him necessarily, and maybe they even felt bad. it was more annoying that they were just like "oh hes so weak" in the story. he is not weak he is just a fictional slander!!! i love you.

movie event (idk maybe fall 2019?)- 5/10. this gets a weird score bc sal was absolutely carrying his appearance but everyone else treated him like shit. like this man was forced to play literally himself (and tom jobim) in a movie he was incredibly uncomfortable with, but pulled himself together when the cameras rolled for the sake of his historical counterpart's boss's sister. he also made the most blatantly conan moonlight sonata episode ending to his movie which was extra moving since i love conan and i love watching it with sal and that episode is so sad i still havent completely rewatched it but it fits sals sensibilities so well. the points are deducted for the absolute mistreatment of sal, him being derided by the characters everyone in the fandom insists his interactions with are 'cute' and his pain being called 'hilarious comedy gold' by the fans as well. gosh heck that. but i love you sal

req crossover (may/june 2020)- 5/10 again. idk i cant say any of these are worse or better imo. they all such but i love sal in all of them. this one gets points for sal being just the cutest and best, and staying strong even in the absolute most dogshit worst of times. that being, everyone votes him off the amongus ship (by a really gristly death execution) because of said real historic counterpart's boss's younger sister who was his emotional anchor in chaldea, and it was a fake version of her that she was cool with even knowing the things she did and now is fucking canon of all things. honestly this event was such a turnaround bc i was expecting canon louis design and playable character and a cute story abt me and sal being louis' guardian figures and what i got was sal gets tortured and louis gets replaced by a fake and sexier version of his mom. which is not what i want for sal and not what i want for louis but it did lead to a lot more fics so thats something

sal interlude (? idk maybe 2021?)- 4/10. honestly its again sal being just the cutest but interludes are shorter and lower stakes than events. sal teaches a childrens chorus of kid servants, which sounds cute in concept. but in lb sal resented being told he was good w kids, bc real sal was a father and teacher and he didnt want to be confluated w real sal for worry of tarnishing his name further. and then theres the added part that one of said kids is the child friend/servant partner of the very person who created evil marie and in that way is directly responsible for his traumatic events in the req story. and yea that doesnt mean hes the same person but he had no problem with his human partner's actions and even condoned them, and now hes just casually taking free lessons from the guy who literally got killed by her selfishness?? thats just fucked up. tho to be fair the interlude also had sal separating from his exoskeleton so it could accompany them on piano. that is both adorable and metal af. on another note, sal i think showed up in dan tes interlude and fans were gushing abt it even tho he had like one line. and dan tes just tells him his opera or whatever was good. sal says so many times that he is not real salieri but does even one person listen?????? smh

passionlip interulde (i think?)- 7/10 honestly. she just has a nightmare or something abt all three sal ascensions fighting her bc hes strict w her music lessons or something. sal just has resting bad guy face hes actually a sweet guy. but its still funny and lip is sweet, i get where shes coming from. and sal appearances are good

carnegie hall (battle in new york)- 8/10 in jp, 4/10 in en. this is just so cute, sal and moz at carnegie hall having fun. beat them up and take their corndogs. it gets minus points in en bc they made it some weird and unrelated gamer meme that didnt even make sense for them being musicians. cant yall take a page out of d q and if youre gonna make unfunny memes, make them with fitting puns and that makes them infinitely better and more funny. that everyday im shoveling guy lives rent free in my head.

honestly the idea of oc is kinda interesting. emphasis on the kinda part. alter egos as a class are "made up of different people, usually the appearance base is a human/non servant canon character but they like fused to gether with 2+ historical figures or more likely goddesses". like thats a neat concept ig.

i find ones like avengers and rulers much more interesting at least fundamentally. avenger being "full of vengeance and negative emotion" is on paper a really cool idea and imo it kinda works in some cases (gorgon, angra... and i have a bias for sal and lobo, and i think it works for them too imo) tho a lot end up being fanservice (the 5 stars... :/ i do like kuroe too tho even tho her avenger class is more for a joke). its more the characters that could be avengers that i like for the most part more than most of the canon avengers (my hamlets, my sweeney todds, heck even maybe taira no masakado would be a good pick imo)

ruler i like that their main defining trait is they (again lore wise in concept, idk if they still follow this lol) dont have a wish on the grail and are more there to uphold order. maybe its unpopular but i really liked that abt jeanne in apoc, that she sometimes did somewhat cruel or emotionally distant things in favor of upholding order. tbh i have a lot more favorite rulers than avengers which is weird lol (emperor, holmes, himiko, etc. even id count summer martha tho i dont even have her lol). idk i like detectives and peacocks and himiko is just a good bean and strong too.

i mean maybe im just salty but im still not over the ordeal call screwing over sal this much. like he doesnt even get a fancy name. he doesnt even appear as the supposed school teacher. he just appears as himself practically accompanying (haha music joke) the other op 5 star avengers as their filler or cannon fodder. and yet everyone acts like he gets such a big feature. and then theres the whole evil marie being canon thing which disgusts me sooo much. this is why i say that potential wise i love avengers but role wise i really dislike a lot of them in canon (dont get me started on them literally wasting erlkonig oh my gosh).

i just feel so bad for sal. my poor wonderful guy. and i dont think hed even mind all this. hes just a tool to carry out revenge, and these are people he views to have a similar wavelength to. theres never any options in story dialogue/etc to acknowledge the horrible things done to him in different plots and whatnot and all of his feelings are just swept under the rug in canon. and in fanon. a lot of people act like he likes this so its ok. its not ok!!!!

archanea banner is actually not bad imo. yumina is cool and i actually kinda like the character development she has from being separated from her twin. i think her being somewhat younger than like. miranda/etc/ other young-ish royalty kept as prisoners of war is compelling, like shes trying to be responsible and act mature despite being a kid and also has the advantage of no love story angle like the others

castor/kashim is cool too, ive seen him around recently and im glad he got in. something abt somewhat pathetic/cowardly yet extremely understandable/relatable ghb archanea bois i am totally digging, w matthis last yr too. caeda and merric are by no means bad choices for the special variants, and im partial to those two + marth as a trio (main lord + soft mage boi + pegasus princess is so peak f e trio content honestly. my original f e parody thingy has that same dynamic as well), esp since the other banner characters are related to them (castor -> caeda and arlen -> merric). and arlennnn elreannnn im screaming in the club congrats on getting in!!! and thank u for coming home to me too. since yumina also came home and castor is ghb ive gotten everyone i remotely want from this banner lol. time to save for the next one

as far as the story chapter i want hresvelger and nidhoggr to prosper and thrive. esp loving nidhoggr for calling out the main characters on their bs. i know were supposed to side w them but honestly im siding w nidhoggr. this fucking child got away with torturing and killing people for years, and just bc she decides she wants to be buddies with her much-older crush from the country she invaded and slaughtered for years means thats all in the past if she believes or whatever. idk they just do not make these protagonists likeable in my opinion. like idk i think theres three basic tiers to protagonists. 1. i love them i want them to succeed. 2. i dont love them but i realize that they should morally overcome whatever they need to, or rather its the better outcome if they do. and 3. i hate them and the story would be better off if these shitheads were just defeated or whatever. and honestly a lot of gacha games are the third category.

for actual plot not to be that guy but i feel like it could be the first step in kasumiverse. for the first few real time months kasumiverse lays low, but in the wake of elanor's resignment from writing publicity for the royal family, in order to fill that void and assert askr/embla dominance for the masses, kasumi and a small squad are sent to embla. they accidentally meet nidhoggr, and kasumi realizes abt the healing power of yggdrassilians.

possibly it starts when the squad first run into eadgyth, a young askran whose parents were emblians, and is being treated like a figurepiece by the order of heroes' supporters. but shes just such a one track absolutely beethovinian classicaloid mind that she doesnt care, for she wants to solve every mystery and uncover the true secret of the worldtree.

kasumi and the others are sent, along with the still figurehead-treated eadgyth, to embla for the ceremony or whatever- eadgyth for publicity and kasumisquad as bodyguards for the order. the chapter 5/6? events happen and they run into nidhoggr? kasumi also learns abt hresvelger and the rest of the worldtree, which like. eadgyth pumps her fist like "i knew it!!!" kasumisquad book 5/6/8 be like "we picked up a weird child" whereas 7 is like "my sexy femme fatale friend got killed offscreen and im having a breakdown"

like considering her backstory is not completely revealed im still not 100 percent sure but honestly ivy is cementing herself really early as a contender for at least like a geisha/wuwu level "yea they cool" character. i like that (so far) her family in her backstory are actually loving and caring, and doesnt have a gender bias pitting one gender parent as evil and the other as a saint like other characters. i also like her past/present/future time theme too (tho after b7 i am wary. like it could be cool but it could be incredibly disappointing :/ ) but more to the point she brought the return of the king b skin antonio with her!!! b skin antonio + cn anni shop package ricky!!!!!! we eatin good bois. looks like music bois are back on the (metaphorical) menu. and with ricky finally getting non coa/mary related content in that like. postcard goods im rlly happy. also ricky seems like he could be a ghost too, considering his skin seems to be called ghost sail. posthumous anniv ricky is the dream honestly.

honestly im so weak for the trope of "(original) character does everything they can to save/help/whatever canon character but in spite of that the end result is still the same"
