The Eel Deal

This was my first time drawing Frye’s face, and it was honestly one of the most rewarding fan art experiences of my life. She has such a good design!! OMG she has such an amazing design and I never really realized it until now…!

…I think it’s because I’ve never really seen her design rendered in a ‘hybrid-toon’ style like this, with her features ever so slightly exaggerated for effect. Tbh, I’m one of the very few Splatoon artists I’ve seen who draws like this; most artists either do ‘chibi-anime’, ‘semi-realism’ (there are SO many semi-realistic Splatoon artists; and it’s hilarious because you’d think it’d be the opposite), or something reflective of their own unique style that’s not really ‘on model’. And all that is fine, but with a design as unusual as Frye’s it means you never get to see how well it works in 2D all on its own. And it works SO WELL

Anyway, speaking of design: you may have noticed my final ‘bandit’ design for Frye changed a lot from its first draft, just like Shiver’s. I did like the original jacket, but I felt like I needed something less generic for the real thing. So I came up with this abstract shawl-looking thing, designed to resemble the pallu of the Indian saree. The long drape at the back kinda mirrors the shape of Shiver’s kimono-sleeves, which I’m very happy about. ^^

So in this re-concept, Frye’s eels have a job just like Master Mega does, albeit a less-mandatory one: if you feed them Power Eggs, they will accompany you into the lab spaces to search for things: secret rooms, locker decorations, and other hidden collectibles that contribute to your “percent completion” of the game. I imagine this as something you set up before entering a level, like the weapon select screen…maybe it could even be semi-interactive; like Agent 3 holding up different items for the eels to sniff, each one corresponding to something you can tell them to find for you. ^^

I also think it would be cool if, the more times you borrow the eels this way, the lower their Power Egg price becomes, as if you’re gradually ‘training’ them to help you. Maybe once you get down to the lowest possible price, Frye could congratulate you on becoming an ‘Honorary Eel-Charmer’ and give you a prize; something like that~

The saga of the Al-Aqsa Flood, executed by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, came as a qualitative milestone in the Palestinian national struggle, extending for more than a century, to attain its legitimate historical rights of freedom, independence, and self-determination. The unparalleled bombardment by the zionist war machine against our people in the besieged strip, which resulted in numerous massacres, bombings of houses over their inhabitants, erasing entire residential squares, targeting journalist and medical teams, cutting off water, electricity, fuel, and food from the strip, are all but failed attempts to paint a false image of victory over the corpses and blood of our children, women, and elderly in the strip. It is also an exploitation of the Western American cover to entirely obliterate the Palestinian cause, which is the renewed old project of Netanyahu's government that aims to end the conflict, annex the West Bank, Judaize Al-Aqsa, and execute the prisoners.

It has become essential to intensify the support and solidarity with our people in the strip, both Palestinian, Arab, and internationally. Therefore, we in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine issue this important call to:

1. Urge the masses of our people everywhere, in the homeland and the diaspora, to massively and widely take to the streets, to rise against the occupation, and to openly clash with it, expressing a state of cohesion with our people in the strip in its ongoing battle. The upcoming Friday should be a day of escalation for Gaza.

2. Call on our people in the West Bank, inside "israel", and the sons of our Arab nation to urgently organize relief convoys to Gaza, prioritizing medical supplies and fuel.

3. Call on the national, nationalist, progressive, leftist Arab and international forces, Arab masses, the free people of the world, and international sympathizers to organize stands in front of the enemy's embassies, embassies of countries participating in the aggression, and international institutions worldwide, to denounce the crimes of the occupation and to reject international bias and collusion with the zionist entity.

4. The need for international and human rights institutions to document the crimes of the fascist occupation, expose them to the world, urge the international community to take up its responsibilities, perform its duties, condemn the brutal acts committed by the zionist entity against unarmed civilians inside the strip, unite the efforts of all opposing forces to face the occupation and defend the Palestinian narrative against the false zionist narrative. Affirming that what the resistance does is in self-defense, and is a natural response to the continued occupation and aggression.

5. Demand the International Criminal Court to open an investigation into the massacres and war crimes committed by the zionist occupation in the Gaza Strip.

6. Confront the hostile American and Western behavior against our people, which is biased towards the zionist entity and is complicit in its aggression against our Palestinian people, continuing its colonial past in aggression, extermination wars, and the European positions hostile to the rights of our people.

7. The unjust international community should stop its double standards. This world, which laments those captured in the settlements surrounding Gaza. Doesn't it see that there are 7,000 Palestinian prisoners languishing for decades in the occupation's prisons? Doesn't this world realize that the problem lies in the presence of the occupation that has occupied our land and our sanctities for 75 years? These dual policies in their standards and this blatant violation of the rights of our people will only bring more fire and blood.

What our heroic Palestinian people in the steadfast strip are exposed to, a war of extermination that makes humanity shudder, imposes upon us urgent action and uprising against zionist criminality and its supporters, especially since the US administration and the Western system are aligned to the point of partnership with the zionist entity to continue its crimes against our people.

Queer folks, BIPOC folks (esp black , indigenous folks), Disabled folks, fat folks, and all those caught in between these intersections deserve the world. No matter what they think, or do, what they’ve been through, they deserve full, vibrant lives. They deserve to eat, to sleep, create, to play, to find joy in community, to live, to thrive in any way they choose. Like any other human on the planet.

The systemic injustices and oppression all over the world have robbed them of their right to thrive without fear, to be free of constant stress and trauma and to exist as themselves without fear of judgement.

Financial difficulties often make this heavier tenfold. With constant bills, rent and now student loans, and a lack of sufficient government protection that doesn’t force people into poverty to obtain aid, folks have little to no time to heal and recover while trying everything to look for aid; many consider s*icide because this world is barely survivable for them.(since it’s the prevention month, yet many people focus on individual recovery and don’t understand that it’s the systems that be that lead to this.)

As humans existing in this incredibly unkind and oppressive system, the best we can do is to take care of one another and support one another, especially those that need more support than others. Please go to the pages of the humans in the posts, read their stories,and provide support in any way you can, whether that comes in the form of sharing or making CONSISTENT donations to help them meet their needs if you are able , so that they are able to take their lives back and thrive.

I'm an adult and post like it.

My blog focus is on solidarity, mutual aid, and making the revolution accessible and intersectional.

I mostly post/reblog stuff about human rights (ex: BIPOC sovereignty & LGBT rights) along with hating capitalism, calling out white supremacy, art, nature stuff, space photos, & support/resources.

My asks are always open & when asked in good faith I'm happy to answer pretty much anything.

I freely use the delete/block so don't waste your time writing hateful paragraphs.

I also use the hateful and bigoted asks that I do publish as teachable moments, most often for recognizing bad faith arguments and dog-whistles. You won't find any needless and unnecessary hate posted on my blog.

That said, my blog has an overall content warning for pretty much everything because of the kind of content I post. Education on oppression unfortunately includes the human horrors we never want repeated. I do tag ableism and very graphic posts tho.

There's a lot of possibly triggering stuff to come across so I dont feel obligated or inclined to tag every post.

But the topic or image is bad enough then I'll tag it and I use a catch-all tag (as in abuse, gore, racism, antisemitism, etc are all included here) to make things easier for myself.

That tag is: decolstw

Ableism tags will be specific. They'll be tagged as flashing, strobing, unreality, etc. Not just tagged simply as ableism.

So yeah, that's what you can expect here.

I'm decol and I really like painting (though I've never shared any here), space, nature, & radicalizing a generation one blog at a time.

My hobbies include herb gardening, beading, processing my trauma through horror fiction writing, taking my family out places, romanticizing the mundane, and stealing a chocolate from every new store I visit <3

I post a lot about oppression here but joy is equally important and I want y'all to know I make time for that and so should you.

I'm also a disabled person living with my kid, & trans gf. My gf is the only one who can/does work.

How does one afford multiple degrees

Well, to be frank: You live in a country where university is free. I am living in Germany, where technically speaking our universities are tuition free. Practically we pay about 300€ per semester - not in tuition, but in certain fees. But of course that is nothing compared to what you gotta pay in the US and some other countries.

Additionally I am working about 20 hours a week (38 hours during the university off-times). To afford the costs of living.

But yeah, it mostly is: Living in a country were you do not have to pay tuition.

Oh hey i never shared my personal Nezha design! so here's a prince/marshal!
