“Look, there’s no universe where you would ever be a burden.”

“You say that now...” said Alec with a sigh. Magnus felt a lump in his throat.

“And I’ll say it in 5 years, 10 years, 50 years. And it’ll still be true then.” Magnus had had this conversation so many times in the past but there was something different about this time around. His heart hurt a little more this time. Alec looked down at his lap where he was fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.

"I just- I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to leave. If this got too hard." Alec couldn't meet Magnus in the eyes no matter how hard he tried. Magnus' jaw slackened and the lump in his throat only grew.

"Why would you say that?" said Magnus, barely louder than a whisper. He wanted to badly to just reach out and hold Alec's hand. But he found himself glued to his seat just as Alec was. Alec looked up and glanced at Magnus briefly before looked away and chewing on his bottom lip.

"I love you... so much..." Alec said, his voice cracking. "That sometimes I feel like I'm suffocating. And all I really care about is whether I'm enough for you." Alec realised that an arrowhead ending up in that box wasn't what bothered him. It was that maybe he wouldn't even matter enough for it to cross Magnus' mind.

Yeah but wasn't that exactly the point of the scene? Jace feared people would think of him as crazy and Alec very gently told him that's not what mental illness means. Isn't it good to hear that on TV?

yes but to effectively explore these ideas, you need to not slap your audience in the face with them. trust that you can be subtle about it and that your audience can do the rest of the work. don’t give me a fucking essay jesus christ

What do you think about the whole "Malec are totally getting engaged this season" theory? Do you think it'll happen, would you like it to happen? (I personally think it's a terrible idea.)

i think i’ve answered this before but tbh i just want them to be a couple for a bit. just let them be. i have no idea as to whether it’ll actually happen or not. but personally i’d prefer it if it didn’t.

i’ve been feeling really depressed and just kinda out of it lately but your writing has kept me going a little bit. i’m not good with words but i really appreciate your works because they give me something to look forward to and they’re kind of like a constant in my life. like no matter how fucked up i am i can always look at your blog and read something that makes me feel a little better. so thanks for that.

do you have any advice for other people wanting to start writing but don’t know how? also how’d you get into fanfic?

i’d honestly just say to write what you want to read. write for yourself. don’t be pressured by prompts or other people wanting you to write certain things. you still get to decide what to write. and don’t do it if it starts to feel like a chore. take a break, write other things, come back later. ALSO READ. you can’t write anything without reading it first. but also write how you write. don’t seek for others’ processes. have your own and just go with it. also i remember i used to write harry potter fanfic back in the day omg. bleak times.
