Some Favourite Selfships!!! (Part 1/2)

I do a lot of reblog games, but I wanted to strike out on my own and pay homage to some of my favourite couples in the selfship community! Some of these are a bit vintage and folks have moved on to new F/Os, but these ones are in my heart and I hope you'll still appreciate the art <3

I'm choosing my The Ancient Magus' Bride self insert for this ask.

🎨Palette: My self insert is in the middle of a meadow at night with Spriggan. There are fireflies everywhere and her eyes are glittering with amazement. There are also fairies and other fae creatures around, quietly watching them and wondering what is a spriggan doing with a human. Spriggan's two, black dogs are also there looking at the fireflies flying around and one is even chasing them.

📆Calendar: The most special day to my self insert was the day she met Spriggan for the first time.

do you guys ever feel like an outcast even in a group full of outcasts. like i'm autistic and even in groups full of neurodivergent people i'm still excluded sometimes. i don't understand why

Yaaaaaaasss!!! I'll never get tired of telling the story of how I met Spriggan for the first time. I hope I'm not sounding too annoying when I'm telling this.

So I met Spriggan for the first time when I had gotten lost in the woods what was meant to be just a normal, small hiking trip. I had gotten into "metsänpeitto" (translation: forest's blanket) which in finnish folklore is a term used when you get lost in the woods and accidentally get into the fae world. I had wandered in the woods hours on end and eventually the warm summer day turned into a night. During the night I felt like I was being watched and followed and when I turned around to look I saw a monster that very clearly wanted me to be its next meal. I screamed in terror, like any other reasonable human being would have, and ran as fast as I could, praying that I would somehow get saved by something or someone. The monster eventually caught up to me and grabbed my leg and painfully threw me against a tree. I couldn’t move from the pain and the monster caught me in its claws, opening its jaw unnaturally wide, sharp teeth poking out of its mouth, ready to devour me. Just when I thought that was going to be the end of me Spriggan came into my aid in his stone golem form and punched the monster right in its face. The monster released me from its grip and I fell into the ground. Spriggan drove the monster away and after that he changed into his regular form, extended his hand for me and asked if I was alright. Maybe it was, because of the stress of the whole -getting lost and almost eaten alive -situation, but I started crying and couldn’t bring myself to stop. As the tears were falling from my eyes like a waterfall Spriggan's two dogs came to console me. They were wagging their tails, headbutting me and licking my face and after a while I calmed down. Spriggan took my hand in his own, raised me from the ground and wholeheartedly promised to help me find my way back home. And that was the story of how we first met :)

🖋Pen: Here's a fun fact: my self insert's clothes are actually straight up based on clothes I have irl, a red dress and leather ballerina shoes. Also my self insert fell in love with Spriggan at first sight.

🔥Flame: My self insert's enemy is an old fae creature called Ashen Eye. The reason my self insert dislikes him so much is, because Ashen Eye likes to steal and harrass children and my self insert wants to protect children from his twisted intentions. A particularly heated moment between them was when my self insert fought furiously against him to protect a child who had unfortunately fallen victim for him.

🕯Candle: My self insert has a big dark secret that is about her traumas from her childhood. My self insert has the same traumas as I do irl.
