Thanks too @kaylinalexanderbooks for the tag

it’s been a while since i’ve posted, feeling sad about that tbh because when i started this blog i really hoped to keep up with posting and interacting with mutuals and others in all of my fandoms. i started reading again this year which has left me less time to write and obsess over all my favorite animated worlds. i still love these worlds and their characters, deeply deeply so. i am just working a lot and reading to unwind. i hope that someday soon i will be able to come back here and be more active. for now though you will mainly see me liking and rebloging as i dont have the energy for anything else atm.
as this season of Rick and Morty comes to a close i would like to create some time for myself to do a full deep dive of my thoughts of the season and the series as a whole. i am definitely stewing in my thoughts for now so hopefully this will actually come to fruition.
until next time, take care of yourselves and be kind to those around you both here and irl
Arson Xx

Long Prime/Prickcest Analysis Post Incoming!
I want to start this off by stating that Rick's backstory is still unique to his version. We know now that every version of Diane was wiped out of existence across infinity but his backstory is the only one that stands out as different from the rest because his Diane was the only one that was killed by a bomb instead of the omega device, not only that but his Beth is the only one that was offed too, most likely...she was collateral damage.
They didn't explain why exactly Prime decided to annihilate every Diane for seemingly no apparent reason but imho everything points strongly to it being done out of a motivation to hurt Rick C137 alone and I truly believe he only got that malicious idea after he had already personally killed Diane C137 (and Beth on accident).
Now, in that case, what in God's fucking name did Rick do to drive him to do that? Because simply rejecting his offer of inter-dimensional travel after meeting him once for a couple of minutes like the S3 flashback implied isn't a viable reason, not to mention the fact that there's still two instances of Prime showing up in Rick's garage with two different portal guns and the contradictory recollection of events in S3/S5. Nothing was really confirmed or denied this episode but there's a pretty good amount of evidence that proves they knew each other.
A lot of Prime's comments directed at Rick felt strangely...personal and this bit of dialogue was suggestive that they did have a positive relationship together in the past: "I do miss when it was just us, the only two Rick's who actually invented portal travel." along with Rick's little Freudian slip in s6: "That's what happens when you let people in and they stop respecting you! They touch your shit, they screw things up, they kill your fucking family!"
Regarding Prime, you could argue that he's just indirectly complimenting himself by praising the only other version who could figure out the formula but his prior words contradict that. Because Rick allegedly only figured out the formula after his family was dead. How did he know about that unless he was either keeping tabs on him specifically or he figured it out beforehand while Prime was together with him, Either way, both of these conclusions imply this version of himself was more important than any other. A subtle indication that he had a familiarity and affection for him.
We also know that Prime isn't entirely heartless and uncaring either because it seems to me that he may have had, and does have, some issues with cognitive dissonance. The biggest example of that is when he admitted that killing Uncle Slomo would hurt him too, and was visibly upset by this action, yet he still went through with it in spite of that. Killing every Diane may have also hurt him to some small extent then, after all he did choose to marry her, have a child with her and move in together too.
Doing things that could hurt him as well just to hurt Rick C137 further, trying to kill every other relative to "teach him a lesson" cause he knows Rick has a new family now, no doubt learning all this information by stalking and observing him. That's some pretty serious beef that he doesn't grant for any other Rick.
His words during the beatdown scene are indicative that their resentment for each other was mutual, albeit for different reasons, I doubt Prime was only saying all of those things about Rick moving in with his daughter, going around with his grandson, etc. just to provoke him because of the tone in his voice, he sounded audibly bitter and indignant (and it's likely that was a deliberate creative decision)
Another interesting piece of dialogue is this one: "You're welcome by the way. I made you, I showed you infinity What's your life without me."
It truly sounds like Rick C137 is the very first Rick that Prime came into contact with and vice versa, a Rick he took a liking to due to how similar their versions were, a version of himself he "showed infinity" to by exploring galaxy's and traveling to other dimensions, meeting other versions of themselves and handing out portal guns together, inventing things together, a Rick he probably fell in love with after seeing how his other counterparts just didn't compare to Rick C137 who was the most like him, who would've been him.
He wanted him to leave Diane to be with him, probably tried to convince him more than once, but Rick kept rejecting him just to stay with someone he himself was ultimately unhappy being with which is where his twisted perception of Diane probably stems from, superb jealousy, if Rick won't be with him then he can at least keep his attention on him in the worst way possible by making it so that Rick's hatred causes him to obsess over him for literal decades and making sure he can't crawl back to any version of the woman he chose over him. ever. It's better than nothing, a self-love that's been heavily warped and unrecognizable from what it might have been in the past I would say.
TL:DR Prickcest still real

my greatest death note piece to date, took probably 35 hours and I did it all within 3 days my hand was in so much pain weeks after making this. And the stupid piece of paper itself was $20, very large. I wanted to make it look kinda like a window of a cathedral or like a stained glass window, to fit the catholic imagery common within death note.
the storyline of the piece is more so an alternate ending of death note, if light succeeded as Kira and was able to get rid of near. With rem out of the picture he’d likely eventually get rid of Misa as well (my poor poor girl) and lastly become synonymous with the shinigami (which he may have become one canonically anyways)
Here’s some closeups

anyways please appreciate this I think it’s pretty slay

Something that bugs me about Loona and the way the fandom treats her, is that despite the writing being nowhere near perfect and despite her faults, the show DOES show us that Loona is capable of caring. She’s capable of being nice, she’s capable of having heartfelt conversations and actually talking to people/empathizing and learning, as we see with her taking care of Blitz, and talking to Octavia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And yet, whenever we bring up the problems with her writing on how she’s aggressive/abusive and never seems to truly improve, the fandom coddles her and babies her, portraying her as this helpless traumatized child who doesn’t know any better and is incapable of decency apparently or interacting with others all because of her trauma. Yes, Loona may have anxiety and trouble connecting with people, but that doesn’t mean she can’t improve. If the show is showing us that she CAN do these things, than fans need to stop shielding her from any sort of redemption just because she had a bad childhood.
Loona is 22 years old, she’s not a child, she’s a full gown adult, so stop babying her and excusing her. She was 17 when Blitz took her out of the pound, meaning she was in a healthy environment for at least 5-6 years. There is absolutely no reason for her to be treating the only person who took her out of that toxic environment and showered her with love like utter shit. The way she treats Blitz is not excusable and neither is her aggressive behavior towards others. While her getting defensive can certainly be a trauma response to how she was treated in the pound, it’s still not an excuse, especially since like I said, if Loona is capable of making friends and being kind and caring AS we’ve seen, then stop acting like she’s immune to criticism. Trauma is not an excuse for being a shitty person.
Part of the problem is also because I feel like the show flip flops with her. The writers can’t really decide wether they want her to be someone who while has trauma can improve from it, or someone who’s out of control and desperately needs help. Regardless of the show’s major writing flaws of characters never improving or learning from their mistakes, fans need to stop excusing her behavior all because she grew up in that pound. While she doesn’t need to be a fully put together person, she’s had plenty of time to expand and grow and on some level IS capable of doing so, so stop treating her like a helpless Uwu baby.

The Smiths have been nicer to each other in the past couple of seasons (Beth and Jerry getting along, Rick getting closer to Beth and Summer, Rick looking after Jerry, Beth and Space Beth dating, Space Beth joining the family, etc.), but it seems like Morty is getting left out.
This struck me when I watched Morty's monologue at the end of Final DeSmithation and noticed that Summer and the Beths don't really engage, they just look at him dully:
Tumblr media
I mean, Beth and Jerry don't HATE Morty. They don't ignore him when he approaches them, and they're friendly and encouraging at times. But if he doesn't initiate, he's not getting much attention. The subtlety of emotional neglect.
What would an outsider see? A spotless home with a kid who attends school, wears clean clothes, eats three meals a day and has his own bedroom. Beth goes to work to provide for her family, while Jerry is a stay-at-home dad. The siblings are only two years apart. Morty's grandfather lives with him, giving him plenty of family time. What a great home environment, right?
Rick's fucked up countless times, and the series explores Morty's frustration toward him, but I wish the show would also highlight how Morty's parents raised him to be passive and invisible, bottling up his anger until somebody pushes him over the edge.
Morty does take initiative in plenty of episodes, but it usually involves reckless behavior, going off on people or trying to do the right thing and watching it go horribly wrong. I read a fan comic a while back where Rick visited a planet to find that Morty had already befriended the aliens without his knowledge. It would be so satisfying to watch Morty positively take charge and use his friendliness as a strength.
Anyway, Rick gives Morty attention, but that's just...the main premise of the show. Everyone else doesn't interact with him much outside of group family activities.
