Nothing really matters at all - I guess minds of a lot of people are made from this thought. Sometimes I look at my classmates when they laugh, when they joke about some things like death and I just understand that they can't even imagine what is unexistance. They are breathing, every cell of their bodies is producing energy, and dying, and regenerating... They run out of time. But they don't even understand it!

I'm afraid of this kind of people. I'm really afraid of people, whose motto is "nothing really matters" just because they can't imagine that everything does matter.

Life isn't that bad. It's not what you think about it.

A lot of people think that life is passing by without any changes around them. Well, life is nothing of that kind. Life isn't a stream which flows in the field. Life is hurricane. It touches everybody around you and turns everything upside down.

The thing is - your life depends on billions of things and that things often depend on you, so take risks, make them happen. You're the owner of this shit life, so its sense is only your business.

My favourite quote from Frei's books is

Existance itself is an answer for every question about the sense.

This quote is brilliant and it's the most true thing I've ever read.

Иероглиф

Мое имя - стершийся иероглиф. В рукавах моих - холодный северный и изменчивый западный ветры. Я ступаю по земле в своих развевающихся залатанных лохмотьях, и что несу я - никто не спросит, да если бы и спросили - не сказал бы, лишь рассмеялся в ответ. Никто не узнает, что в сжатых ладонях несу я - сон или смерть, встречу или разлуку, любовь или ненависть.

Стоя на неподвижном, но таком текучем, жарком, дышащем море асфальта, чувствуя всем телом тепло окружающего меня мира, я устремляюсь вдаль, туда, где мой синий морской берег плещет о камни.

Каждый знает, что стою я у них за спиной, но никто не видит меня, никто не знает имени моего, ведь имя мое - стершийся иероглиф.

I guess I'm not the only one to think about this. I'm absolutely sure that lots of people will recognize their own thoughts.

Well, have you ever had that feeling in the morning like you've died for night and just revived in the morning?

I think that's because sometimes we don't have any dreams and that makes feel us dead.

I would say it's dreadful, but the most frightening thing is that I'm absolutely fearless about that.

And looking into someone's eyes is even more private than kissing

Usually I can't look into someone's eyes in that specific heart-to-heart way. You can know person better in this way, but usually I just don't wanna to. Well, actually, always.

I think that's what loneliness is. You don't have anybody to look into your eyes and you don't wanna to look into anybody's eyes either.

I have been using duolingo primarily to learn Russian, and have been improving a lot with being able to translate from Russian to English but I still have a lot of trouble forming my own sentences in Russian. I've started a diary where I write one sentence about my day in Russian but would like to try listening to music to help- all the music I've found has been pop type music. I like alt rock or indie music- do you or your followers have any suggestions for Russian music? Спасибо!

Привет! I’m glad to hear that Duolingo works so well for you! Don’t worry about building sentences in Russian - it is just normal that your listening and reading comprehension is better than your speech production. We as foreign language learners always are much better in understanding than in speaking. It’s just a question of practice. I love rock music, too! I learned English by listening to the British rock bands! Russian rock is somewhat special. For a long time it was banned and existed only as an underground, politically and socially charged movement. Rock musicians didn’t have access to good instruments and studios, but they played rock because they were rebellious and independent. Their musical performance often sucks, but their lyrics are really good. Here are some names for you (you can check Youtube and decide which ones you like):1. Аквариум and Борис Гребенщиков 2. Машина Времени and Андрей Макаревич3. Кино и Виктор Цой4. ДДТ и Юрий Шевчук5. Зоопарк и Майк Науменко (one of the first rock-n-rollers in the Soviet Union)6. Наутилус Помпилиус (Early albums, wonderful lyrics by Ilya Kormiltsev)7. Алиса и Константин Кинчев (I don’t like what he’s doing now, but his early works are pretty strong)8. Воскресение9.
