Note

Do you think that happiness is something that you can find? Something that you can look for and all of a sudden stumble upon? Or do you think it's something that sneaks up on you? People say that appreciating the simple things will help to make you happy, what is a simple thing?

This question has been sitting in my log for months now, because I've still been trying to think up a proper good answer for it.

It'd be wrong to leave it alone and untended to, so I'm posting it here, still unanswered.

Happiness is both simple and complex, but for me, so far, it has always been transient, and maybe that's the way it'll always be.

I think it's also different for every person.

Regardless...

I'm posting this, so anyone who stumbles across here, can think about this question, and maybe answer it for themselves.

Find what makes you happy.

No matter who you are or what you've done.

That's the purpose of life; to live and experience life and learn from those experiences, but most of all, to enjoy it, because there's no point if you're not enjoying the ride.

That's all.

Laura Roslin: Oh...Sorry about the mess. It's um...bit of a ritual, superstition, really. I used to do this before testifying at committee hearings. This is what I do, I take them, memorize the talking points, tear the card...let the pieces fall as they may. It helps.

Bill Adama: Yeah, my father used to break pencils before he went into court, then borrow one from the clerk. Break preconceptions, work with what you have.

I know I don't have a right to say anything since we don't talk on a regular basis [or really at all since we are strangers and I like that. xD] and never really knew each other too much back in the day. And it is creepy for me to read your posts, but that's what we all do here on tumblr, so I figure it's okay. I just wanted to say that you're doing a good job of being a human being. Keep it up.

It's a long hard battle.

It's a battle uphill.

In the mud.

With barbed wire clawing at my legs.

I feel stiff and my eyes are dry.

My chest feels like a cage.

Dry bones filled with dust.

Nothing quite like hitting home.

I don't expect you to love me anymore.

Not the way you used to.

But I wish you still cared about me as a person,

the way I still care about you.

Still care about your well-being.

I am happy for you, some of the time.

I don't know if it's just...her, for why I can't be happy for you all the time. I just can't stand her.

But I'll never really know if, if it was someone else, it'd be better.

Otherwise, I'll say back to you what you said to me:

If I choose to check on you, it's my business, and my choice.

You don't want me checking on you?

Make it private, or take it down.

Or, you could just do what you do best and keep running. Now I'm just doing it because you're giving me a challenge, and challenges are a distraction, and entertainment.

If you've got some sort of emotional or mental reason for wanting me to fuck off, though, aside from, "it's for the best" or some skewed sense of duty, I'll stop. For old time's sake.
