Feng yan sprints over and greets elder fengyun and me

“Greetings to elder fengyun and ms”

“Ay, feng yan, where are your manners? This is not some ms, this is the royal princess of the heavens”

Fengyan immediately got on her knees

“Greetings to the royal princess. I apologize for not recognizing you earlier”

I immediately grabbed her arms to lift her from the ground

“Before we leave, would you like to spar?” I suggest

We both take out our swords as we charge towards each other, the clings and clashes echoing

After the spar:

“Your ability is more superior than I thought, well done!” I praised her

Feng yan’s abilities were proven to be as superior as mine, but there were still skills that needed honing.

“Let’s leave, shall we?”

Feng yan bids goodbye to her clan-mates and her elders as we walk through the teleportation portal.

As we reach the end of the portal, we arrived at the garden outside my room in the palace where hua cheng sat at the stone table, waiting for me.

“Y/n!”

Before i could explain, feng yan threw a dagger at hua cheng but he dodged it swiftly.

“You’re hua cheng, one of the calamities! Your highness be careful!”

Feng yan charges towards hua cheng and she starts fighting hua cheng but hua cheng only dodges and doesn’t fight back.

Instead, a smirk is plastered on his face.

Finally, using his speed, he appears behind fengyan and places the dagger that fengyan threw at him earlier at her neck.

“You’re rather skilled, hm? You picked a really good spiritual beast, my love”

“Aiya, a’cheng! Stop being immature and get the dagger away from her”

Upon hearing my request, hua cheng immediately throws the dagger to the side and runs towards me, giving me a hug while spinning.

Fengyan was bewildered at the affection hua cheng gave me and pieced it together

“My love? A’cheng? Your highness, don’t tell me both of you are-“

“That is correct. Let me introduce you to each other. A’cheng, this is fengyan. She is a phoenix from the feng clan and my new spiritual beast. Fengyan, this is hua cheng. He is also my husband”

Feng yan was a little shocked but she adjusted after knowing her master was happy and that’s all that matters to her

All of a sudden, i felt a sharp pain in my chest and i clutched my heart as i fall

We turn around and a girl with tiny braids, large earring and wearing several bolts of red veils that wrapped around her body.

“Ruonan?”

Ruonan runs towards hua cheng, giving him a big hug.

Hua cheng’s eyes widen and he looked at me, eyes signaling ‘it’s not what it looks like’

“I missed you so much, hua cheng gege! Why didn’t you tell me you came back?”

Then her eyes landed on me

“Hua cheng gege, who is this girl?”

“Y/n, let me introduce you to liu ruonan. We grew up together. I consider her my little sister. Ruonan, this is y/n, my wife”

“Nice to meet you, ruonan mei mei” i smile and greeted her

A/n: mei mei means little sister in mandarin

She gave me a fake smile before looking at hua cheng again

“You got married?! Isn’t she the royal princess of the heavens? I thought you said you hated people from the heavens”

She rolls her eyes at me while still clinging onto hua cheng’s arm.

“I do hate the heavens, but not all people from the heavens are as despicable as others”

A’cheng takes ruonan’s hand off of his arm, replacing it with mine

“It’s getting windy. Let’s go back in so you don’t get a cold, hm?”

Hua cheng asks and I nod

“Ruonan, we have to get going. It was nice seeing you again”

We walk off, away from the garden and ruonan, who was fuming

‘Y/n, hua cheng gege was mine before you showed up. I’ll make him see that only I am worthy of being his wife’

Timeskip to later that evening:

I was sitting by the vanity, taking off my accessories to get ready for bed when i felt a pair of arms slither around my waist

“Are you mad at me?” A’cheng asks

Confusion appeared on my face

“I’m not mad?”

“Come on, y/n, you don’t have to fake it. I know you’re jealous because of ruonan meimei. I only see her as a little sister”

I turned around and started laughing

“When did i ever say i was jealous or mad? I’m not that narrow-minded. Besides, I’m the most beautiful in all of the heavens, I don’t need to be jealous”

Hua cheng’s face turned dumbfounded

“Why don’t you get jealous?! I wanted to see you get jealous!”

Hua cheng whined

I kissed his cheek and giggled

“I’m afraid you’ll never see it, my a’cheng”

I walk over to the bed, sitting down.

“Oh yes, I’ll be going out tomorrow. It’ll be too boring if I stay too long indoors. I also need to find a spiritual beast”

“What kind of spiritual beast would you want?”

“Maybe a dragon or a phoenix? I heard that the feng clan of the heavens has remarkable phoenixes, the north sea has talented water dragons as well as fire dragons in the fire swamp.”

“Ok we’ll go early in the morning”

“A’cheng, I’m going to go alone. You just came back to ghost city, you must have many important tasks and documents to finish. I’ll be fine, hm?”

“Hmph, fine. Don’t take too long though and I want kisses when you get back”

The next day:

I arrived at the feng clan, where elder fengyun greeted me

“Greetings to the royal princess. It is an honor for you to come to the feng clan. How may I assist you?”

“Please rise, there’s no need to be courteous with me. I am in need of a spiritual beast so I immediately thought of the feng clan as you have trained many talented phoenixes.”

Elder fengyun takes me to the training field where many of the phoenixes were practicing their spells, sword skills and/or in combat training.

One of the phoenixes caught my eye immediately.

She wore a green robe, her hair tied into a high ponytail and dark red lip balm

“Who’s that?”

“That is feng yan. She is one of our most high-ranked phoenixes. Her combat skills and spells are superior as well.”

She looks over at me and we make eye contact.

She bows as I smile at her.

“Would it be alright if she became my spiritual beast?”

“You. What’s your name?” Hua cheng points to one of the officials

“M-my name is qin heng, m-my lord”

“Official qin, tell me what has been going on with ghost city while i was gone”

“T-there has been some bandits creating havoc near the mountains so imports have been low, causing inflation.”

“Take a couple soldiers from the jiang yuan army and deal with those bandits. Also, hand out a bag of gold coins to each citizen”

A/n: jiang yuan is the name of hua cheng’s army of soldiers. There is a total of 500,000 soldiers.

“Yes, my lord”

“My lord, please forgive me for asking, but who is this woman?

“This is my wife, y/n”

Whispers travelled through the room

“His wife?”

“When did he get married?”

“Y/n? Isn’t that the royal princess of the heavens? Why is she here?”

“Is she here in disguise to kill the lord for what happened that year?”

“Enough”

Hua cheng’s cold tone immediately shuts the officials up

“If i hear that the lady gets mistreated in any way, you’ll be dead before you even have the the chance to come up with some absurd excuse”

A/n: while y/n is in ghost city, she is going to be addressed as “the lady” or “my lady”

The court officials all bow in unison

“You are all excused. If I find another day like today, i won’t be so lenient”

“Thank you for being lenient, my lord”

A’cheng puts out his arm and i link my arm with his as we walk out of the main hall

He takes me into his bedroom chamber and orders the servants to bring supper

After eating supper, I noticed that hua cheng was a bit tense

“You must be exhausted today with these court issues, let me give you a massage”

A’cheng takes off his robe as I rummaged through his drawers as i find the scented oils before smiling.

I brush his hair to the side as I rub the oils on my hands before applying it in his back, massaging and kneading.

Hua cheng sighs and groans in relief.

I chuckle before glancing at his scars on his back.

I softly trace over the scars as i feel my heart tightening

‘I hate knowing that he got hurt. It must’ve hurted a lot if there’s scars left over’

Hua cheng noticed that my hands stopped moving and turned around, noticing the slight frown on my face.

“Did it hurt?” I asked, tone wavering

A’cheng quickly put his inner robe back on carelessly and turned to face me, hands quickly grabbing mine

“It’s okay, don’t worry, hm? It didn’t hurt” he said in a hushed tone, trying to not make me cry

“Stop lying” i sniffled

“I’m not lying, don’t worry. This happened so long ago, I don’t even remember the pain”

“Really?” I look up at him, teary-eyed

He nodded and hugged me, kissing my forehead and caressing my hair

“Thank you for caring about me”

I wake up the next morning, feeling a’cheng’s arms around my waist tighten as he stirs in his sleep

After going back to the mortal world, I was met with a sulky and pouty hua cheng.

“Cheng cheng, what happened?”

He looked up at me with big doe eyes and sighed dramatically

“What happened to your promise saying you love me?”

“What do you mean? I love you, i didn’t break my promise” i said confusingly

I cup his face

“Now tell me what’s wrong”

“I don’t like your stupid shixiong. He was going to take you away from me. Did you see the way he looked at you? I should’ve gouged his eyes out. Only i can look at you like that”

Hua cheng gritted his teeth, irritated.

I giggle, intrigued at this new personality of this man-child.

“Ayo, is our cheng cheng jealous? I don’t remember you eating vinegar”

A/n: in mandarin, the words jealous and eating vinegar are the same words so it’s a play on words. Also, when you get jealous, you get sour and vinegar is sour.

“Hmph” hua cheng turns his back away from me, a big pout on his face

“Okay okay, no more pouting, hm?”

I turn his shoulders to face me and gave a small peck on his pout.

A’cheng had a big grin, ear to ear, now contented and satisfied. He moved to hug me, arms around my waist and head on my chest.

“Ayo, not mad anymore?” I teased, playing with his silky dark locks

“He was so flirty and touchy with you. There’s no way he doesn’t like you. You’re so beautiful, kind, the definition of perfect. You’re mine. I’m not sharing”

“I only see him as my shixiong, nothing more. I only love you hm?”

I gave a big smooth on his cheek and a slight pink colored his face.

“Ayo yo yo, don’t get shy on me now” i teased

Hua cheng quickly put his head back on my chest, whining.

“I have to check up on ghost city. Apparently since I haven’t gone in a while, the vermins have forgotten who’s the ruler”

A/n: ghost city is a city that hua cheng rules. He’s considered a independent and clever ruler and has the citizens’ needs as priority. Most of his subordinates are loyal but a few higher rank officials are scheming for his throne

Hua cheng suddenly shoots his head up, a big grin on his face

“Do you want to come with me?!! I want to show you around my reigned territory and show those disrespectful officials my beautiful and perfect wife!”

Hua cheng bats his eyes with a hopeful look on his face.

“Sure, why not? I would love to” I smile gently, giving a peck on his forehead.

“Yayyy!!” Hua cheng childishly cheers

The next morning:

I changed into the new outfit a’cheng gave me for the trip to ghost city

I just finished putting on my earrings and I turn around to see a’cheng staring at me, shocked by my beauty

I gave him a twirl and giggled

“Do I look pretty?”

“Of course you look pretty! Wait no, pretty can’t be used to describe you, that’s too bland and basic. You look absolutely stunning. As expected of my lovely wife”

He walked over and held my hand, kissing my cheek and we walked outside, where hua cheng takes out his distance shortening array dice.

Hua cheng holds the dice in one hand while the other hand moves to my waist.

“Hold tight” he whispers in my ear

We vanish and reappear, not in our little wooden cabin anymore but instead, in front of a large red palace.

The guards standing at the entrance immediately recognizes their ruler and all simultaneously bow.

“Greetings to the supreme ruler, welcome back”

“Arise, good job and continue to work hard” he compliments as we walk past them and towards the palace.

As we arrive towards the entrance of the main hall of the palace, where the throne was, a strong scent of wine floats towards us, along with loud chatters.

We walk in to see the higher rank officials chatting about, drinking wine, most of them drunk.

I turn my head to see hua cheng’s face cold and unpleasant.

“What the hell is going on?” Hua cheng’s voice booms through the main hall, startling the drunken officials

Their eyes widen and they stumble about before bowing

“G-G-Greetings to the supreme ruler”

“Are these the supposed actions of a high rank official?”

“M-m my lord, y-you didn’t tell us you w-would be back so s-suddenly”

“If i didn’t come back early, are you saying that you would continue these actions until I come back?”

All the officials quickly got on their knees, shivering with fear

We walk in to see the higher rank officials chatting about, drinking wine, most of them drunk.

I turn my head to see hua cheng’s face cold and unpleasant.

“What the hell is going on?” Hua cheng’s voice booms through the main hall, startling the drunken officials

Their eyes widen and they stumble about before bowing

“G-G-Greetings to the supreme ruler”

“Are these the supposed actions of a high rank official?”

“M-m my lord, y-you didn’t tell us you w-would be back so s-suddenly”

“If i didn’t come back early, are you saying that you would continue these actions until I come back?”

All the officials quickly got on their knees, shivering with fear

“N-n-no! O-of course not!”

I gently squeezed his hand

“A’cheng, don’t be so mad hm? That’s not good for your health. They just acted unaccordingly. That’s why you have to educate them and talk to them. Don’t intimidate them”

I felt hua cheng slowly calm down, a sigh escaping and his tense body relaxing

“Okay okay, I’ll listen to you, my lovely wife”

Hua cheng walks towards the throne, guiding me to sit next him, hand still in mine.

“Now where were we?”

Chapter 11

We teleported back to our little wooden cabin and hua cheng sets me down on the bed.

“Are you alright? That must’ve been frightening for you” he said as he softly caressed my face, in fear of startling me.

I grab a’cheng’s other hand that was resting on mine

“I’m alright, a’cheng.” I reassured him

Hua cheng’s eyes filled with tears and buried his face in my neck, arms around my waist.

“A’cheng, what’s wrong?” I pat his head, voice filled with worry.

“I came too late” a’cheng said, trying to keep with tears from flowing out.

“No, you didn’t. You came for me when you didn’t even have to. Thank you for saving me, a’cheng”

i softly gave him a peck on his forehead.

“Maybe you shouldn’t be with me. If you being with me will get you into all sorts of danger and harm. I rather you not be with me to keep you safe”

Tears were already rolling down his face and sniffles echoed the room.

My heart broke with a pang.

“A’cheng, do you love me?”

Hua cheng’s head quickly flew up and he looked you in the eyes.

“Of course i do!”

“I love you too and that’s all that matters. I’ll be with you through all sorts of danger and harm imaginable. If one day in the future I have to die for you, I’ll do it, no hesitation. I love you a’cheng and you love me too. That’s all that matters”

“You can’t die for me. If anything, I’m going first” he says and pouts

I chuckled, making a’cheng smile as well.

Suddenly, a thought flew to me

‘What happened to hua cheng before? Why did his eyes go completely black?’

“A’cheng, what happened to you when you were saving me? Why did your eyes go dark? It looked like you lost consciousness too”

Hua cheng’s eyes widened

“It looks like I wasn’t able to keep it under control under those circumstances” he mumbled

“Keep what under control?”

“I have a hidden darkness within me. I don’t know when i started to have it. It just sort of appeared out of nowhere. I can keep it under control most of the time but when i get furious to the point where i want to kill, I can’t control the darkness”

“Whenever you feel like you’re losing yourself to the darkness, think of me. You’re not alone. You still have me. If you disappear, then I’m going to be alone.”

I smushed his cheeks, rocking his face gently with a pout in my face

“You got that?” I cooed

A’cheng nods, cheeks still being squished

I suddenly remembered something.

“A’cheng, i have to go to the heavens tomorrow morning to report what happened at banyue village but I’ll be back”

“No, i want to go with you” a’cheng protests

“If you go, your identity will be exposed. You can’t”

“Then I’ll shapeshift so then no one will know”

“That’s still too risky” i protested

“Have you seen my shapeshifting skills? They’re top notch.”

I sighed

‘He must still be worried about me, especially with what just happened’

“Ok ok, you win”

The next morning:

We arrived at the heavens

And by we, hua cheng is also with me.

Hua cheng was relaxing on my shoulder, as a hummingbird.

“Don’t cause ruckus and try to keep a low profile”

Hua cheng chirps in response and i walk into the telepathy hall.

“Greetings to the royal princess” the gods said in unison while bowing

“Seniors, arise. No need to be courteous with me”

“Thank you, your highness”

“I’m just here to report what had happened on my trip to banyue city”

“Royal princess, forgive me for asking but what is that on your shoulder?”

‘Forgive me for lying, seniors’

“Are you going back to the mortal world, your highness?”

“Yes i am, i quite like it there”

“Please be careful, goodbye, your highness” the seniors said in unison and bowed once again as i turned to leave the hall.

As i was about to leave the heavens, my name was shouted by a familiar voice

“Y/n shimei!”

I turn around and it’s jinhai shixiong

A/n: shimei means junior sister and shixiong means senior brother. Y/n and jinhai have the same master but jinhai became his disciple first so he is considered the eldest or older than y/n”

“Shimei, you were gonna leave without saying goodbye?”

“Shixiong? Long time no see, how are you?”

“I’m doing great! You’ve gotten prettier!” He exclaimed

He leaned in to hug me when a loud chirp stopped him

It was the hummingbird, or rather, hua cheng in disguise.

“Who’s this?” Jinhai chuckles

“This is my hummingbird, he started following me when i went to banyue city”

“You just came back and you’re leaving again?”

“I’m staying in the mortal world for a while, i like it and i want experience what mortals feel like”

“Can i go with you then? I want to spend time with you”

Hua cheng was fuming with jealously and began chirping nonstop.

“Aiya, quiet down”

“You have important business to deal with and i don’t want to hold you back”

Jinhai was about to say something but held himself back

“I’ll be going now, see you later, shixiong”

I disappeared into the portal and missed what jinhai had said

“I like you so why would you hold me back?”

the smile on his face as he blew his candles out was enough to make you cry.

you and jungwon had been friends since diapers and now you’re watching him turn 18 right before your eyes. you took a picture of his happy expression, capturing the moment for later.

he looked adorable in his small party hat with his sheep themed cake. call him childish if you want to but jungwon didnt care. he was happy to be here, with you. with everyone.

all of his friends had come over to your house for his party. niki and sunoo had helped decorate while heeseung offered to dj and sing. jay got the cake and jake handled food with sunghoon. although neither knew how to cook so all you could do was hope their food would be somewhat edible.

a couple of hours prior to the wishlist, jungwon had arrived to your house looking his very best. he looked absolutely adorable and happy.

“happy birthday won! i can’t believe you’re already eighteen..” you said while hugging the younger male. a fake cry left your lips causing jungwon to pull away in disbelief.

“thank you —, and stop crying you’ll ruin your clown look.” jungwon replied sassily.

you just rolled your eyes and walked him in to see his decorations. everything was well put together from the banner and balloons to the music. jungwon could almost cry seeing the effort you all had put in.

“guys this actually looks amazing thank you.” won said with a frown, only to be crushed into a hug by his friends.

“we love you! now everyone let go so he can get his birthday punches.” jake laughed.

jungwon tried to run but was caught by niki who ended up throwing the first punch to won’s arm. jake followed after and the rest lined up single file waiting for their turn.

“what is this? you guys are gonna break my arm!”

but jungwon’s voice was drowned out by the sound of affectionate laughter.

“okay guys, since he’s here lets open gifts!” you said while handing jungwon a small box. he looked at you suspiciously before opening it, only to find a small necklace with a connected moon and star on it.

the male before you gasped in what you thought was a sincere tone but nothing’s ever sincere with jungwon.

“oh my god, —, when did you finally become rich?! this looks amazing!”

you rolled your eyes in return, “oh whatever and your welcome.”

next in line was jay and of course he went all out for his favorite friend, handing jungwon two boxes and a set of keys.

the short male just looked up in confusion, “did you.. get me a car?”

“of course not, i got us a car. all of us!” jay said happily while urging jungwon to open the rest of the gifts. in one box there was another chain but this time with his name. the other bigger box contained a small framed picture of the friend group together earlier in the week. in jay’s words he framed it for the ‘memories’.

after a while, gift giving was over as jungwon had opened everything. shoes from jake and heeseung, a coupon for free ice cream from with a bracelet from sunoo and specially made cologne from sunghoon and niki. the eight decided to watch a movie and eat afterwards.

“oh my god heeseung you chew so loud!” you said as heeseung jokingly did asmr next to your ear. you pushed his face away causing him to bump into jake who dropped his popcorn.

“hey! you guys are making me more of that!” jake whined. you couldve sworn you laughed so hard that your stomach moved.

jay was lucky enough to have filmed the moment on his camcorder, changing the view from you guys to jungwon and sunoo who were playing rock paper scissors in the corner.

he panned the camera back over to sunghoon who was stuffing his face into the entire bowl of puffed cheetos.

sometimes you questioned why you were friends with him.

“ew hoon stop that.” jay said before smacking the other male’s head further into the bowl.

sunghoon almost choked, lifting his head up while throwing a violent fit of coughs.

“are you trying to eliminate me??”

“can you two idiots shut up i’m trying to watch a movie here!” jungwon complained but the movie watching didn’t last long. they eventually finished and decided to have the birthday boy blow out his candles.

now we’re back to square one. jungwon sat with his eyes lit up in joy, blowing out all eighteen candles and looking up at all his friends. jay began recording the moment again for later. all you could hear in the room was laughs and the sound of pure joy.

the seven bestfriends all cheered for the young boy as he reached another chapter of his long story. you looked around and began to reminisce the past and how incredibly mature jungwon had grown for his age.

he went from shy and scared to someone who could lead a pack to success. he was intelligent and very hardworking and you were proud of what he had become.

jungwon was all grown up now.

it almost brought you to tears as you thought about it. you were proud. so very proud.

jay, still recording, turned to the birthday boy with a small smile.

“so wonnie, is there anything you’d like to wish for?”

although jungwon didn’t answer. instead he sat and thought about it for a moment. what was there to wish for when he already had everything he could ask for? this moment was perfect already but then the sheepish boy closed his eyes.

he closed them and kept them closed until he had finally figured it out, turning back to all of his friends with a warm smile.

“you guys know what i wish for?” jungwon asked.

“i wish that i’ll always be together with all of you.”

“hee,” you called for your boyfriend, drawing out your words in a sad tone.

heeseung looked at you and mirrored your pouty expression at the sight, “what’s wrong, love?”

he made his way over to you, who was curled up on the couch, practically drowning in the soft fabric of his oversized hoodie.

“i’m cold,” you told him softly with a large pout still on your lips.

“you’re cold?” he repeated, a slight worry in his voice as he quickly tried to think of a solution to make you happy again as soon as possible. “well, you already have my hoodie—how about this?”

he climbed on top of you with his arms wrapped tightly around your body as he snuggled against you.

“this better?” he asked you, looking into your eyes which you noticed at this point were very close to your own.

his actions caused you to smile, but you pretended to think for a moment before frowning, “i’m still a little cold.”

you watched as his mouth formed into a little ‘o’ as he realized his efforts didn’t quite suffice, but before he could do anything else, you continued.

“my whole body’s warm, it’s just this part is a little cold still,” you said, pointing to your lips.

this caused both of you to let out soft giggles until heeseung’s expression suddenly turned into one of slight seriousness.

“let me see what i can do about that,” he told you, voice low as his eyes travelled down to your lips.

he rested his hand on the side of your head, pulling it closer before your lips met his in a much-needed, warming kiss.

Hua cheng tried to grab my hand but the portal closed, leaving hua cheng in despair.

Hua cheng immediately summons his butterflies and orders them to find y/n.

The silver wraith butterflies dispersed into different directions, in search for y/n’s familiar scent

Hua cheng began pacing around, panic starting to kick in

‘Who could’ve done this?’ He wonders

In the midst of pacing around, hua cheng steps on what seems to be a piece of paper

“It seems this beauty has some importance to you, hua cheng. Come find me in suzhou or else I’ll kill your little lover.”

Hua cheng brings out his distance shortening array dice* and disappears

A/n: distance shortening array dice- a pair of dice that when rolled allows him to transport to different locations while predicting danger ahead

‘Ugh, where is this place?’

I woke up in pitch black, the events from earlier replaying

A candle is lit and i wince from the sudden brightness

“Well well well, beauty, you’re finally awake.” The unfamiliar man says and smirks

“Who are you?”

“My name is qi rong and I’m one of the four great calamities” he says arrogantly, smirk not leaving his face.

‘Four great calamities? That means he’s the same rank as hua cheng.’

“Why did you kidnap me?” I questioned

“Because you have great importance to hua cheng, I’m going to have my revenge for what he has done to me”

He walks towards me and caresses my face

“Such soft skin, i wonder what he would do if i scratch it”

I try to fight back but i had no energy.

‘What happened to me? Where did my qi go?’

“Don’t bother trying, i fed you a pill that made your qi disappear for the time being”

Meanwhile:

Hua cheng roamed the streets of suzhou, panic on his face, trying to search for y/n

“Hua cheng won’t come” i said, uncertain since our relationship was still unsure

“Oh but he will. I wonder what he’ll look like if he sees you like this. He’ll go crazy”

“What did he do to you to get you this frustrated?” I ask, trying to stall for time in case something is to happen

Qi rong grits his teeth

“He humiliated me in front of all the ghosts during the ghost selection test, even now they still talk about me! I couldn’t do anything because I can’t beat him”

Qi rong smirks again

“But now i can”

He approaches me again

He laughs as he cuts my outer layer of clothing and rope with his sharp nail

“What are you doing?! Get away from me!” I scream, thrashing around

His lips touch my neck and his hands roam around my body

I felt disgusted.

Violated.

Uncomfortable.

Tears were streaming down my face like a waterfall as i thrashed around, trying to get away from this vile man.

‘Hua cheng, where are you’

The door is slammed open, startling qi rong and i, causing him to stop his actions

Parts of my clothes on the floor, qi rong on top of me and the tears on y/n’s face made hua cheng furious

Anger flooded his veins and he went cold with fury

Hua cheng’s eyes turned black as rage consumed him

“I’ve been waiting for—“ qi rong is cut off before being slammed into the wall, spitting blood immediately from the injury

Hua cheng’s hand is tightly gripped around qi rong’s neck, squeezing tighter by the second as he gasps for air.

“A’cheng?…” i whisper in confusion and fear.

What had happened to him? His eyes were black and it seems as if he cannot hear anything.

I weakly walked up to him and slipped my hand into his other hand, squeezing it tightly, trying to bring him out of his current stage

“A’cheng, can you hear me? I’m y/n. Come back to me. Listen to my voice”

“…“A’cheng, can you hear me? I’m y/n. Come back to me. Listen to my voice…”

“…“A’cheng, can you hear me? I’m y/n. Come back to me. Listen to my voice…”

“…“A’cheng, can you hear me? I’m y/n. Come back to me. Listen to my voice…”

Y/n’s voice rang through Hua cheng’s head like a bell and his grip slowly loosened around qi rong’s neck.

Seeing the opportunity, qi rong quickly activates his portal and disappears from the fear.

Hua cheng’s eyes slowly returns to normal and his consciousness returns

“Y/n…?”

I collapse onto the floor from exhaustion

“Y/n! Are you alright?!”

I nod

A’cheng realizes and sees that my clothing were ruined and most of it were shredded.

He quickly grabs his cloak and drapes it over my body

“I swear I am going to kill that bastard!”

“I’m alright, I’m not hurt”

Hua cheng sees the dried tears on my cheeks and wipes them away, kissing me on the forehead

LEE HEESEUNG the main character who escapes by a hair. doesn't know what he is doing, surviving on pure instincts and he is genuinely concerned for the well-being of those he meets that he keeps brushing with death to save them.

PARK JAY is the resourceful one who hitches a ride on a helicopter to the only safe barricaded city. he calls up some one after ages of searching for a working telephone and then just disappears into the oblivion of safety without a single scratch on him.

SHIM JAKE is the chivalrous dude who thought he could take one a hord of zombies only to find himself scratched. the character you cry for because he isolates and chains himself so that the others can escape before he becomes a zombie and chases them.

PARK SUNGHOON is the character who says everyone to have hope because he has inside information on how to get to safety. he might not offer much in muscle but his inputs will save the team because he thinks out of the ordinary anyway and makes everyone wonder if he is secretly a sane zombie or what.

KIM SUNOO is the guy no one expected to be as handy as he turned out. know-hows up his sleeves and he is helping out with everything. he cooks, does first aid, has insane survival tactics he learnt randomly from the internet. before you know, it even picks up on how to fight properly.

YANG JUNGWON is that character who has a love interest and does the nth to protect them. you honestly just have to adore him for being such a loyal and caring person because who would fight off a zombie for you while shaking in fear? him.

NISHIMURA RIKI is the character who disappeared into a horde of zombies but reappears before the ending because he survived on pure will-power. he also thought he was going to die but he is surprising adaptable if you throw him to the danger.
