I never use tumblr anymore so I am just gonna use this as a place to post snippets of a story I am writing ----

Now I know you’ve heard this story countless times but this is going to be a little different so I need you to just listen and you will understand soon enough.

A long time ago everyone came to realize that the world was doomed, it would be long and drawn out but the inevitable fate of the earth was entirely unavoidable, and it was not long after people had come to this realization that the tower appeared. An ominous presence to some and a beacon of hope to others, the tower stood like a void that consumed the space around it and filled the air with a stillness which people could never really decide whether it was peaceful or menacing. Its impossible to miss the intricate detail that went into the construction of the tower, with every edge and corner adorned with captivating ornaments. Of course if you ask any person they will tell you the ornaments on the tower are something entirely different from what they clearly are to you, but at least everyone could agree that they seemed very intentionally placed, and that really was the nature of the tower anyway, everyone saw it differently no one could disagree that its presence touched something visceral within them.

The first person to go into the tower was some local official whose name isn’t important it was so long ago anyway so who could even remember a thing like that. What people do remember though is what they said when they came out of the tower after disappearing into it for several hours. They couldn’t explain exactly what it was they saw during their time in the tower almost as if it was beyond words, but what was clear is that somewhere within that tower rested the secret to life beyond this earth. Everyone quickly became enthralled by this idea of an escape from the dying world and began devising plans to explore the tower themselves and very quickly people established a tradition of each person over the age of 25 exploring the tower at least once a year.

So what did people find in this tower? Well, the answer is they found what they needed to find. A traveler knows they’ve completed their journey in the tower whenever they come to a room, they don’t know which room it is until they do, because within the room is something that could only be for them. The rooms were so personal that one of the most sacred rules of the tradition of exploring the tower was that until someone found the way to escape the dying world that people would keep the contents of their room a secret. Now what was outside of the room was well known, as this tower was not merely an empty building that people could just wander into without worry. There were creatures that explored the halls many of which were known to torment the travelers or even kill them outright. These creatures, like the tower itself, defied the notion of form, with the exception however, that their presence was universally reviled. The mere sight of one of these ghasts would grip you as though an icy hand had reached its way inside your chest and clenched your heart.

Now an object like this can’t be around for very long without being surrounded by rumor, and one in particular that people liked to talk about was the vampires. Many believed that vampires were drawn to the tower for some reason, that the day the tower appeared so too did a bunch of mysterious new people in town. Of course, no one could ever really point out who these people were, but it felt true to many and so they chose to believe it. Some even had tales of being joined by a vampire on their travels in the tower, all of them claiming they had been guided through its mysteries and protected from its dangers, but struggled to remember names or faces of those kind creatures that helped them through.

Now this is where many would leave it, but this is also what everyone already knows, and so instead of ending the story here we are going to continue. We’re going continue with the story of a group of young people who took their first journey into the tower together, as many did. They were just like any other group of people making their way into the tower, that is, until they weren’t.

I'm the one who made all the other people sign the Non Disclosure Agreements. I don't believe I've ever signed one. I don't need to. This is my show.

I'm keeping it all to my chest not because I'm legally obligated to but because I don't want to have spent years building this story and then all the time actually making it into television and then getting it through post-production to see all the things that made the story so much fun to tell simply given away with no emotional impact or importance or respect.
