I need this
@ Star Trek fans, I have a question:
Where’s the fic where the AOS characters are reincarnated versions of their TOS characters?
Give me the fic where Jim remembers a happy family and a loyal found family, family of blood and choice; the sound of echoing laughter; the feeling of wanting to grow old with these people he somehow knows; the feeling of sacrifice, of going closer into the unknown until he can’t go anymore.
Where Spock remembers the feeling of quiet, fond emotion (of all things) when he looks upon people he only sees in distant memories when his human side gets the best of him and he needs to sleep, where he remembers the feeling of something so important lost and deep regret followed by resignation.
Where Leonard remembers exasperation over these stupid people that get hurt and try to walk it off and, dammit, he’s (wants to be, going to be, has been) a doctor, not–.
Where Nyota remembers having darker skin, curlier hair, a huskier voice and remembers singing alongside a stern man who let’s small parts of himself show and learns so many languages to replace the so many people she not-quite remembers.
Where Scotty remembers laughing and drinking smuggled (very, very, very old scotch that he was savin’ for–) and other assorted drinks with people despite being only 12. Where he remembers plain white quarters decorated with proud proof of his heritage.
Where Pavel Chekov remembers joking and being sarcastic with people whose language he doesn’t know yet, but he will and he will learn all that he can until he reaches those people.
Where Sulu remembers laughing jauntily and swinging a sword exaggeratedly (sometimes with a manic smile as people ran) as people laughed and teased. Of being roped into others’ mission and shaking his head bemusedly at…someone. (That’s your best friend, why don’t you remember?)
The crew of the Enterprise remember each other, their mission, their friendships, their lives, but they don’t at the same time and it hurts.
Nyota will be drinking and trying to reign in and pull out her memories when a blonde will lean against the counter and smile charmingly. Jim will make a quip about a fair maiden, and she will reply “Sorry, neither.” while making her voice raspier. The two will pause, look at each other and compare while trying to find words that don’t fit this world, this life, before Jim (her captain and friend) will be shoved away. Jim will try to calm the cadet down before the fight starts (just like so many other missions) and the two old (strangers) friends will be pushed away.
Jim will meet Leonard and the older man will make a quip about bones, hoping (c’mon, J—–boy, remember, don’t leave me again) and Jim will look at his now-dark eyes and call him by the name he calls his blue-eyed best friend in his not-dreams-not-memories. (”Bones.” “Dammit, Jim.”) They end up rooming together and start trying to find the others as their memories come closer.
Spock finds the bridge of the Enterprise (not his or his t’hy–, his captain’s) duller than he (remembers) expected, but he is glad to be (back) there even if this is not his captain or his crew. Spock sometimes finds himself feeling older and more tired and drenched in grief that doesn’t belong to him. He will see Nyota in his class and when she comes in early one day, he will be playing a song on his harp that he had brought on an illogical whim that would please his mother and the woman will join in with high notes that don’t match her younger, slimer, taller body.
Jim will find Nyota and then Bones, then he will find them in his and Bones’ dorm later, Nyota will then drag Spock in, and he and Jim will look at each other and relief will hit both of them and (their) a (t’hy’la) bond will open between them, and the four’s memories will clear even more. They will stay up late, but they won’t care because they found each other, and they need to find the rest of their family-crew.
Hikaru will bump into Pavel, and they will snark at each other and Pavel will say that “This was invented–” and Hikaru will finish with him “in Mother Russia.” The two will  pause and Hikaru will comment on Pavel’s new hair and age while the Russian snarks back and calls him old. Bones will find the newly reunited friends in his med bay after Hikaru got hurt practicing for a fencing competition and will immediately drag him into the newly named “family reunion.”
They will not find Scotty in time. He will be trying to (re-)invent warping technology and he will fail. He gets (exiled) moved to an outpost that is drab and gray and he will mourn his very, very, very old scotch and his proudly decorated room.
When Nero attacks, the crew will be ready, and they will fall into old and familiar habits and bonds. Jim will go and find Scotty and it will be like old times when he risked his life (stupidly, according to Bones) to save his crew. (Spock never made it through the opening with the Narada, he died with the thought of his t’hy’la and husband and crew and family and friends on his mind and not-quite-almost woke up younger and with a cloudy mind.) They will be reunited, the crew of the Enterprise.
On the journey home, others remember (Chapel, Reed, and so many others) and those who wake up will change.
Jim’s hair will lighten and curl slightly and his skin will tan; Spock’s face will grow sterner and green will flush his face; Bones’ eyes will become blue though he still (gratefully) retains his younger body; Nyota’s skin will darken and her hair will curl more than her captain’s, slowly her voice will grow raspier though not as much as it had been; Scotty’s hair will darken and his accent will thin in some places and thicken is others; Pavel’s hair will follow Scotty’s and grow straighter and he will appear older (much to his relief, he was growing tired of his baby face); Hikaru’s face will become more square and he will gain even more fencing callouses.
The Enterprise will return to Earth, and they will be questioned, and they will try to explain. This is not where the story ends, though; the Enterprise and her crew belong in the stars, TO the stars. They fought to find each other and they will fight more if needed.

Update: I have found the original post, couldn’t find the version with the reblogs though, and it’s by @lightly-lumiere

Elvish Hair Traditions
Alright, so I saw this one post talking about how in the LotR movies, Elrond has these complex braids at the top of his head while Thranduil and Galadriel wear their hair loose. The post also went on to talk about how it was likely a cultural thing and I want to add to that.
Elrond is a member of each Eldar and Edain clan through blood, but he was raised by the two remaining sons of Feanor. In the post this stemmed from, it talked about how the Noldor probably wore their hair in tight and complex braids. I believe this is because the Noldor are craftsmen and they probably wanted their hair out of their way while they worked, the braids would also be tight enough to stay in for a long time and complex enough that the Noldor could still look presentable in public.
Thranduil is Sindar to the bone, the Elvenking after his father, Oropher, and Dior after the fall of Doriath. Sindar likely left their hair free, why should they pull it back when it would only come loose during their celebrations and festivities? Queen Melian danced with her hair free when King Thingol came upon her after all.
The main post spoke of how the Teleri were likely to wear their hair in some form of braids too, since they mainly lived on the shores and beaches. They probably had looser braids that were easy to undo after a hard day’s work, made of knots and twists similar to the ropes that were used on ships.
Galadriel is half Noldor, daughter of the last son of Finwe the First high King of the Noldor, and half Teleri, daughter of the Teleri princess, Earwen. Galadriel wore her hair loose, only two small strands simply twisted back. Maybe she wore it as a sign to show she was not one of the Kinslayers, maybe as a pledge to her new people or her Sindar husband.

I really love your fic, and I can’t wait to see where it’s going; it’s one of the best I’ve read in a while. Could you do numbers 10, 13, and 96, please? Thank you!
Thank you!
10. "Do they collect anything? What's their collection like? Where do they keep/display it?"
Ára collected/collects stones and seashells. She usually keeps them in a box under her bed with some of her favorites on her dresser and desk.
13. "Describe their aesthetic."
Ára usually wears nicer dress clothes and robes, though they are rather tame compared to the rest of her family, and dangling jewelry. Most of her things are in red, gold, black, dark grey, or indigo. Typically, she wears a dress pants, boots, a nice shirt with some of her embroidery, and her two necklaces.
96. "How protective are they of their friends/family?"
Extremely. Ára knows and understands that her friends and family can take care of themselves and handle their own situations, so she'll sit back and allow them to stand their ground until she knows they need her help. She is not afraid to lay into anyone or fight for her friends and family, all while embodying her grandfather.

Describe Your OC As...
So, I was scrolling through Tumblr and stumbled across this post by @develop-your-oc and decided to give it a shot. Be sure to swing by their page and check out the original prompt. Ára isn’t really an OC, but a gender-bent Harry Potter from my fanfic where she gets adopted by Maglor.
TIME
Ára is most like the dusk in my opinion. She can be calm and quiet, preferring to keep to herself and a close group of friends/family; however, she can also be quite bold and noticeable.
RELATIONSHIP
Ára is not looking for any kind of romantic or sexual relationship, and she isn’t sure if she’ll ever want one. Ára values her family above all (especially her father, Maglor is dad of the year) and is most happy when everyone can exist together and in the same place. Her friends are also important to her, and she strives for trust and understanding with her friends.
SEASON
Ára is most like spring; she can be warm and welcoming to those she knows, but she can be quite chilly and blunt towards her enemies or people she doesn’t like. She’s very multifaceted and it depends on the situation.
DESTRUCTION
When she’s pushed far enough Ára is like a wildfire. Ára may be slow to angry but when she is angry it takes a long time for her to calm down, though she can appear subdued at times. Her temper is inherited from her grandfather (good ol’ Fëanor) though she is more methodical and aware in her retaliation and lashing out. Ára does have one calm point in her anger, children; when children are in danger, she will move them away from harm and continue on her merry way.
LANDSCAPE
Like the ocean, Ára has multiple levels, with some more clear than others. She also has hidden depths and unknowns, even with Maglor. Her emotions are also relatable to the way the ocean represents itself, from calm on the surface with turmoil relief. (Jeez, that’s kinda dark.)

The Old Gods
The Old Gods aren’t dead. Many say that now, say that they can feel the Old Gods when they do something to embody them or say that the Old Gods are slowly and painfully losing their divinity in the face of growing atheism and everchanging religions. They are not right, not fully; yes, the Old Gods still live, but not in the way that they think.
You can see the Norse Gods of the savage and brutal Vikings in that strange child with different colored eyes and a mischievous grin standing side-by-side with a young boy with shinning golden hair.
You can see the Egyptian gods who were among the first of their kind in those strange children who seem to talk to themselves when they think no one is listening and wake up from a nightmare when they don’t have the right headrest.
The boy with the dark skin and nerdy features, sometimes his eyes seem to be glowing two different colors and he has an air of warrior around him.
His sister, the girl with the lighter features but still dark, the girl with the multi-colored hair who’s holding the hand of the boy who seems to be two people at once? Sometimes it seems that she wears a crown and has multi-colored wings, sometimes you can see shapes forming in the air around her as she speaks.
Their uncle is unsettling, he is kind and welcoming with a charming smile and polite manners. He never seems to overstep and has the air of someone in charge that leads diligently. Sometimes, though, his smile seems to be too sharp and his eyes flash red and people remember the feeling of too hot sand being blown against them.
The girl with sharp features and a beautiful accent that seems to judge the warrior boy and love him at the same time, the one that you would think would have something to do with a river? She glows with the light of the sun sometimes, all powerful and old and new all at once.
The mighty gods of the Greeks and Romans, one in the same and yet not different. Most remember them more than the others. Maybe because their empires spread so far, maybe because they follow the heart of everything.
You know the boy who always seems to be in trouble, with his dark hair, scarred face, lopsided grin, and stormy eyes that have seen too much? Sometimes he holds his pen like he’s expecting to be attacked, other times when he coach’s the swim team it’s like he’s commanding an army. When the nightmares get too bad, he’ll wake up with the earth shaking and has to go swim until he can breathe again.
His girlfriend is like that too. You wouldn’t think much looking at her, she’s serious with intelligent grey eyes and tan skin. You wouldn’t think she would date the troublemaker, but they always seem to know where the other is, and they never seem to let go of each other. No one really knows that she and the golden-haired warrior are related, but no one is shocked when they learn.
There’s a boy that the troublemaker calls cousin. He’s pale, and skinny, and dark, and he seems so alone and hardened by the world. He has friends and people to call family now, people besides the Titans that lurk in the Pit and the lingering ghost that only he can see. He is still hardened though, for children of the Underworld are never really welcomed for a long time.
The pale boy resents the punk girl with a silver parka for representing his sister’s choice, but he calls her cousin and loves her all the same. The punk girl has a brother, you wouldn’t think that they were siblings until you saw their eyes. Both of them seem to have a piece of the sky in their gaze, sometimes lightning will spark when they aren’t careful enough.
People see this and yet they don’t. Sometimes, if they’re lucky, there will be a person like the motherly woman with black hair and her baby girl who has the blessing of the sea, or the girl with frizzy red hair that seems so unreal and so down to earth at the same time. Not all of those who can See are happy, though, just look at that blonde woman who waits for her son to come home, never staying in one time.
The Old Gods aren’t dead. They aren’t living in someone waiting to be awakened, they aren’t slowly fading away. People don’t see the Old Gods, not in the way that one would think. One can see the Old Gods in the children; in how they seem too old, how they old themselves like warriors, how they walk like they’ve felt the weight of the sky and prophecy bear down on them, how some never age and some never get the chance to. You can see the Old Gods in the people they loved; how the motherly woman always makes blue cookies for her son and how her daughter never seems to be afraid of water, how the stars didn’t always make that constellation, but everyone knows that it’s a sign of mourning. You can see the Old Gods in the people they touched; how the man with the fedora that always matches his suit color seems to be more open to reveling in chaos now, how some people in Manhattan always stray away from the Empire State building when it storms, in those two girls who thought they knew their friend until they realized there was more beneath the surface.
Many say that the Old Gods aren’t dead, and they’re right, they just look in all the wrong places.
