When they are grouped and combined, they form atmospheres. When we organize them and appropriate them, we create music. However, there are no detailed words to characterize many simple sounds. We will talk about percussion, we will classify them in the category of synthesizers or basses... but we cannot reach a level of description as complex as the sound in all its diversity. This is why we sometimes come back to imitating them vocally, a legacy of the beginnings of human language. Taam is a set of deep and complex sounds, it conveys a mystical atmosphere in which sounds for which there is no vocabulary are intertwined. This new EP by Hunab Ku is fascinating. It lets the emotion generated by organized and civilized noise take over from the rational aspect by which we always try to describe what certainly cannot.
