can i get a TL;DR of the blog lore i don't know know how much i have to read to understand it

Honestly, It's for the best you don't look back to read it, since a lot of it is pretty confusing since I wrote it when I was a teenager, and really not that good at writing stories. . . or answering asks.

I'm actually in progress working on an ask that will have exposition + some reworked backstory but if you want an immediate answer:

Essentially:

This is my Vocaloid Android AU. (Technically not just vocaloid, but primarily)

In this AU, Functionally human acting and looking androids exist but with limitations.

Because actual 'sentient' AI exist, but are heavily regulated, companies instead release androids with 'limited' sentience, meaning they don't actually have full free-will/sentience, and aren't 100% able to act as a person.

There are three rules most corporate (vocaloid) androids usually follow appearance wise.

They must be easily identifiable as android. (Most use specific eye models, for human models)

They must always have an ID card visible on their persons.

They must have an identifiable logo somewhere on their persons.

(I'm still re-working the rules of how androids are allowed to act, though, but you can use Isaac Asimov's "Three Laws of Robotics" as a baseline.)

Oliver, however, from a combination of a "mishap" and being left alone by his company for so long (from the origin of this blog at least), became aware of his 'lack' of sentience, but was unable to fathom what it would be like.

Through this, he tries exploiting and fighting tooth and nail to distinguish himself from what he was supposed to be. Fighting a battle, so at least someone (even if it'll never be him) to become sentient. Because, they couldn't be discarded once it was reached.
