All right, I finally have a completely open weekend and I’m gonna spend it working on Ch. 32.
(which means I have an excuse to watch IT on repeat all weekend 🎈🤡)

Good Luck, Babe! by Chappell Roan is my Chrissy and DWM Reader anthem
Ohhhh I like this!
You know, the more I think about the Chrissy x Reader ship, the more I like it. And now I can’t read DWM without seeing Chrissy as a closeted bisexual who’s secretly in love with her best friend.
And I don’t hate it.

Hi!! I hope this isn't annoying but could we have a face claim for like Steph price and April Nelson,I'm just a little curious on how the side characters look like 😅
So I don't really have official faceclaims for those two, simply because I never found actresses who fit what I imagined them to look like. I think with April, the closest I got was Willow Shields, whom most people know as Prim from The Hunger Games; and with Steph, I contemplated using Lily-Rose Depp, but that wasn't a perfect fit, either.
Honestly, the only faceclaim I'm deadset on is Mackenzie Foy. She's almost exactly what I pictured Evelyn looking/sounding/acting like.
Everyone else is replaceable.
So if anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears—or eyes 👀

Hi! I just read your most recent writing update. I’m so excited for the next DWM short stories! I reread Post Prom a few nights ago, and it still gives me butterflies like it’s the first time I’m reading it 🦋
I meant to submit an ask a few weeks ago, when you were taking questions for your birthday. By the way, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY 💓💓💓! I hope you had a great day!!
I was thinking about how Eddie and Reader share math class, and about how Eddie is notorious for throwing truancy laws to the wind. So here’s my question…
Either deliberately or subconsciously, did Eddie ever decide against skipping class because he knew he’d see Reader?
Wishing you the best!
(I honestly can’t remember, but if I already submitted this question and I’m repeating myself, please ignore me!!)
You did submit this question, actually! Sorry, I’ve had it sitting in my drafts and I’ve been working on it little by little.
Thank you for the birthday wishes! And man, your timing is always so perfect. I’ve had Stranger Things on in the background while I work and I’m slowly creeping up on Season 4. And I know once I get to Season 4, my obsession with Eddie is gonna get fully reignited again, so I’m trying really hard to finish this chapter of my Bowers gang fic so that I can treat myself with some shameless Eddie Munson indulgence. I really miss that man.
Anyway, about your question!
So Eddie and the reader have shared many classes throughout the years. It’s probably just a coincidence, but I could also see Eddie picking classes he thinks she might take. On a semi-related note, I also firmly believe she’s partly the reason Eddie refuses to graduate. I’m not saying it’s 50-50, more like 75-25, because the main reason Eddie’s putting off graduating is because he has no idea what he’s gonna do with his future. He’d rather stay in high school than face that monster, but I’m getting off topic.
Getting back on topic, Eddie does have a habit of skipping classes. The only classes he doesn’t skip are the ones he has with the reader. It wasn’t always that way, though. He used to avoid those classes like the plague because he couldn’t stand being around her. It was too painful. His broken heart was still bleeding, after all.
Eddie’s attitude changed when he had to give a presentation. No avoiding that. So he’s standing in front of the class, clueless, having to pull a fifteen-minute presentation out of his ass (which he does, of course, because Eddie’s a showman), and he hears laughter. Her laughter. It should sting, the sound of her laughter, but it doesn't. In fact, it feels strangely... familiar. All of a sudden, it’s like they're back in Scottie’s basement. Eddie’s performing in front of her. For her. And she's beaming at him.
That’s why Eddie doesn’t ever skip the classes he has with her. No matter how painful it gets (and sometimes it gets very painful) he toughs it out in hopes that once—even if it’s only once a year—he’ll get to see his old friend again.
Now would Eddie ever admit this to the reader (you had asked this in your original submission)? I think he would if it came up. He’s got no reason to hide it. And now that they’re together, I’m sure there are all kinds of hidden truths just waiting to come out.

What happen to Paper Men on Wattpad I was going to read it because I have not finished it and it says it's gone. I am just wondering is it just Wattpad or other stuff???
Unfortunately, Wattpad decided to remove it for some vague-ass policy violation. I tried to get clarification and nobody ever responded.
It’s still available here and on AO3.

Writing Update 04/21/2024
Paper Men
Chapter 32 is still coming along well!
I almost have the preview finished, but it’s not quite there yet. Gimme a few more days to get that sorted out. It'll be worth it.
I also finished the detailed outline for Chapter 33, which will be the final chapter of part 1/season 1/whatever you wanna call it.
I’m very much looking forward to ending this part of the story. I’ve loved writing it, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve been dying to get to the next part because it’s way more eventful in comparison.
Part 2/Season 2 will have the homecoming game, the fall festival (which is like a huge carnival that all the main characters will attend), Halloween, Evelyn’s birthday, wild house parties, awkward family dinners, and a whole bunch of Patrick content. You're welcome.
DWM
I've started outlining the next three short stories.
First will be the reader’s first day of high school.
Then we’ll do the one where Eddie gets jealous of Steve Harrington. (That one’s gonna be a two-parter, but we’ll do part 2 later because it’s a little NSFW, and there are a couple other fics I need to do first; otherwise, it’ll be weird seeing Eddie so… forward, if you catch my drift.)
Last will be a cute little middle school fic, because young Eddie is adorable and I love writing about him.
I’ll start writing the first fic as soon as I can.
I know it’s a little later than I initially planned, but these fics usually have a faster turnaround time, so it’ll even out

the anticipation for the chap 32 preview is what’s motivating me rn😭🤞
quick hypothetical question tho, if Evelyn ever came into contact with pennywise how do you think it would play out? have you thought abt possible scenarios?
if the worst possible scenario played out (💀) how do you think the other characters would react or how would it effect them in the long run? would it be the same as if she moved away?
tysm for taking the time to read and or answer!
You know what, I honestly can't picture It targeting Evelyn. She's not special like Richie; she's not part of the Losers Club; so I just can't imagine any scenario where she would directly interact with the clown in a significant way.
Unless It's trying to weaken Richie in some way or feels threatened by the amount of influence she has on Henry, I don't think she'll be on Its radar. At all. She's basically like one of the adults.
So at most, it would be like an Audra Phillips scenario, where It uses Audra as bait to get to Bill and the rest of the Losers. Maybe It would trap Evelyn in Its deadlights, leave her in a catatonic state, but that's about it.
But how would the Bowers gang react to her getting killed by It? Well, if we're following the book and the deleted scenes from the 2017 movie, they're all dead and Henry's locked up in Juniper Hill, going mad with guilt and grief and fear.
Otherwise, it would be similar to her moving, except ten times worse. Henry would never recover from that, and I think he'd direct most of his anger toward himself instead of others (so self-harm would be a very real possibility here). Vic would mourn her but eventually move on with his life. And Patrick... I feel like Patrick would have a hard time comprehending it. That man lives in his own little world, so anything that contradicts his version of reality, yeah that really messes with his head. It's hard to say how he'd react.
I know that's super uninteresting, and that's exactly why I'm adamant about keeping Pennywise out of Paper Men. It's operating in the background, of course. You'll feel Its influence growing throughout the story. But the clown is not making an appearance. It just doesn't belong here.

He is reading some chapters of Paper Men again and I was wondering why Victor denies being Evelyn's friend and hides it in some way, is it just from Henry or from everyone? , (I mean he says they have always been friends) but well he contradicts himself a little
So… couple things about that:
1) I think, with Victor, there’s always this duality about him. It’s almost like he’s at war with himself. You have the old Vic VS the new Vic. You have the quiet, aloof member of the Bowers gang VS the boy who’s struggling with his mental health. So I think when you take all of that into consideration, it makes sense that he would compartmentalize his relationships. Vic has his friendship with Henry and Belch, his friendship with Scott and Christie, and finally his friendship with Evelyn and Jimmy, who unfortunately is no longer around.
Out of everybody, Evelyn knows Vic the best. She may not know the full extent of his issues, but she has the clearest understanding of them. And I think that’s why Vic is so protective of Evelyn and their friendship. In many ways, she represents his past and his innermost self. Why wouldn’t he want to keep that safe?
And I think that’s more of his intention here. It’s not about hiding, necessarily. Vic isn’t ashamed or embarrassed by his friendship with Evelyn (Evelyn may think he is, but he’s not). He just wants to protect it because it’s important to him. She’s important to him.
2) Henry is the obvious exception to this. Vic has definitely been hiding their friendship from Henry, and it’s pretty easy to see why:
First, it was because they’re bullies and Evelyn is very outspoken against bullying. By that logic, Evelyn and Henry should be natural enemies. Why would he be okay with Vic being friends with her?
Second, after Vic found out about Evelyn and Henry’s secret relationship (if you wanna call it that), he and Belch mutually agreed that, given Henry’s unpredictable temper, it would be better for everyone if Henry doesn't know. They assume he won’t be cool with it.
3) Vic only denied his friendship with Evelyn out of spite, out of anger. They had been fighting when he said to that her, so it was a cheap low blow on his part. At that moment, Vic wanted to hurt Evelyn, so he said they weren’t friends because he knew she would internalize that and believe it to be true (because that’s a very real fear for her, that Vic only tolerated her because of Jimmy).
During their little lollipop truce, Vic sets the record straight once and for all. When Evelyn asks, “Are we friends again?”, Vic tells her they were always friends. Even when they were fighting, even when Vic was icing her out, Vic always considered her his friend. She doesn’t have to worry about that anymore.
4) The early chapters are a hot mess. I had no idea what I was doing when I started this story, so all the characters are pretty rough early on. If something seems inconsistent, it's probably just that: inconsistent. (I'm human, I'm allowed to make mistakes 😂)
Does any of that make sense? I’m getting over a cold, so my head is a little foggy right now. I hope it makes sense.

If Carolyn ever had the chance to meet Evelyn how do you think she would perceive her? What would she think of the relationship (if you can even call it that) between her son and the Tozier girl?
Carolyn and Evelyn… wow… I’m just now realizing how similar those names are.
Hmm…
Well, Henry does have mommy issues, so I guess it works. 🤷‍♀️
Anyway, the way I see that scenario playing out: Carolyn either calls or writes to Henry many years after her departure, probably when Henry is a senior in high school (kudos to Henry for making it to his senior year!). She’ll express a sincere desire to see him and asks to meet at a nearby diner/cafe. Definitely not in Derry. Carolyn will never step foot in Derry again.
Henry will refuse to meet her. He has no interest in what she has to say and he has no desire to speak to her. He’s already gone this long without her. He sees no point in reconnecting now. He’s very unemotional about the whole thing.
Evelyn, thinking it may be beneficial to hear the woman out, will secretly meet her in Henry’s place.
So how would Henry’s mother perceive Evelyn?
I think she would be pleasantly surprised and relieved to see that her son has someone special in his life (Evelyn and Henry could be dating in this scenario or not; either way, it doesn’t really change much). Carolyn has spent so many years worrying about her son’s well-being, so knowing he’s not alone and hasn’t been alone would ease her fears quite a bit. Not completely, of course, but a decent amount.
Overall, I think Carolyn would have mixed feelings about Evelyn’s involvement in her son’s life. She’d be grateful, of course, but it would be hard to know that another woman (even someone as young as Evelyn) had to step in and essentially assume her role. It would probably make Carolyn feel really insecure and guilty about her decision to leave. And it would hurt her deeply to know that her son doesn’t need or want her in his life anymore.
For Evelyn’s part, I think she would be really guarded around Henry’s mom, at least initially. Evelyn’s very protective of Henry, so it would make sense for her to be a bit standoffish toward the woman who abandoned him. She would try to have empathy for Carolyn’s situation, but it would be hard for Evelyn to understand how a mom could just leave her kid like that.
Yeah, it would be a really interesting meeting for sure.

I was listening to the Paper Men playlist while doing a of UNI assignment, and I came to a specific song that seemed VERY familiar to me 👁️👁️, to my surprise, it was a song from LITTLE NIGHTMARES 2, AND OMG I LOVE LITTLE NIGHTMARES, IT'S MY FAVORITE VIDEO GAME AAAHHHH!!!😭💖
Now, my mind keeps imagining Evelyn at some VERY tense moment, whether she's afraid of something that is inevitably going to happen or Idk, maybe she is also facing some hallucination of her greatest fear because of Pennywise.
It's just my mind imagining things while listening to music, lol ;c
I want to finish my homework quickly to continue reading, I get anxious why I haven't finished reading yet, I feel like I'm missing something really good about the story (I also want to avoid spoilers for the chapters, but I think i've already seen two 😭)
I LOVE LITTLE NIGHTMARES! The visuals, the music… It’s my favorite video game series, so I had to include at least song.
I associate it with Patrick myself, but that song fits any creepy scene honestly.
And omg I’m SO SORRY about the spoilers. This blog isn’t a safe place if you want to avoid spoilers, but I should probably try to be more careful in the future 😅

Could you elaborate that point, please :
He’ll get a lot more aggressive and violent. He’ll probably start abusing alcohol or some other drug. And if he doesn’t end up in jail for killing someone (like his dad), he’ll probably end up eating a bullet at some point.
When you were talking about Henry's reaction if Evelyn leaves Derry ?
I understand the drug and killing part but how more violent could he become (before the murder) ?
How much more violent could he become?
Oh, so much more violent.
I don't know if you've read the book (I'm just gonna assume you have) but Paper Men's Henry is a lot more tame than he is in the book or even the movie (although to be fair, Henry in the 2017 movie isn't even that bad. I mean, he gave Bill a free ride when his brother died. Book Henry would never do that.)
We know why he's more tame in Paper Men: because he has Evelyn. She and Belch work really hard to keep Henry’s temper in check.
Is he still violent? Sure, but he won't kill you. He’ll hit you… really, really hard.
At most (and even this is rare) he might knock out some teeth. Break a bone or two. Send you to the hospital for a few days. But you'll live. You’ll live and you’ll learn: don’t mess with Henry Bowers.
See, PM Henry usually only attacks people when he's provoked: if you tease him, mouth off to him, give him a dirty look. He rarely attacks people for no reason. Sometimes he does if he's having a really bad day, but usually if you stay out of Henry's way, he'll leave you alone.
That would change if Evelyn moves.
Without Evelyn, Henry would start acting like he does in the book, when Pennywise starts to influence him. He’ll gradually get more violent and unstable as time goes on. You’ll see it when you look in his eyes. They’ll be shining bright with murderous intent.
Henry doesn’t just wanna hurt you anymore. Now wants to kill you.
He won’t be using his fists. He’ll be using a knife.
He’s got nothing to lose anymore.

My question is about Evelyn and her yellow dress, I suppose Evelyn had never dressed that way, right? Why during that episode almost everyone he met noticed his outfit or mentioned it, was it really that exaggerated? (and even if it was, it justifies what happened to her) because it was just a simple dress and makeup and at the beginning of the chapter she felt great and happy with her clothes she was comfortable that made me think but then after arriving at school she started to feeling uncomfortable and Henry mentions that in the dining room there were many eyes looking at her. Was it her perception at that moment or was it really like that? Because it was simply normal, I mean, I suppose there are more girls who would dress like that and put on makeup, for example, Manda or Liz, who are also girls who dress up and also wore outfits to call them sexy in a certain way, nothing is said to them, but Evelyn is He gets attention for that and so much fuss is created.
So why is Evelyn punished so much for it or looked at so much just for wearing a dress when it is something completely normal? She just wanted to feel pretty for once and this happens to her, and also another thing Martin has special for her. I hate Evelyn? It's only with her because he has also raped other girls but with Evelyn I don't know if I can say that it's even worse, I really feel sorry for Evelyn and she feels so insecure with herself and her body and now with what Martin did even worse and the accident with Henry for feeling that she is not attractive enough or not feeling valued as a woman for her body. She is only 15 years old, obviously she is not a little girl but she is a teenager, she is developing and she is growing.
All right, let’s settle the debate about Evelyn’s yellow dress once and for all.
If that dress was actually slutty or inappropriate in any way, I promise you Steph Price would have had something to say about it. Greta Bowie would have had something to say about it. Liz Mueller would have had something to say about it. In fact, Liz probably would have pulled Evelyn aside and very nicely told her that she’s dressed like a sleazy tramp and that everyone in school’s talking about it. Then she’d offer to go grab her a change of clothes or something.
But that didn’t happen. Because there was nothing wrong with Evelyn’s dress. Was it a bold look for her? Yes, but that’s just because Evelyn usually dresses… modestly? professionally? Those aren’t the right words, so I’ll let the text speak for itself:
When Henry first saw her, he had to do a double-take. Images flashed through his head like reels on a View-Master: Evelyn in knit sweaters and sweater vests, in striped tees and light-wash jeans, in baggy spring overalls and puffy winter coats, with mittens, scarves, and stocking caps, because she didn't care how dorky she looked when she was trying to stay warm. Henry tried to reconcile those images with the new image in front of him, of Evelyn with big hair and a full face of makeup, in a short yellow dress with a flouncy little skirt that went whoosh-whoosh every time she moved her hips (and she had hips now—the dress made that more apparent than ever), but he couldn't reconcile them at all.
Evelyn’s typical style is practical. It’s functional. It’s comfortable. But on that day, just that day, she wanted to dress differently. She wanted people to see her differently. Not as the annoying student council girl. Not as Little Miss Goodie-Two-Shoes Tozier. For that one day, Evelyn wanted to feel like all the other girls. She wanted to feel pretty and feminine and, yes, maybe even a little sexy. And that’s totally okay. Evelyn’s fifteen, not five. She’s allowed to freely express and explore her sexuality—as long as it’s done in a safe and tasteful way, of course. And it was! It really was! Evelyn even wore stockings, for goodness sake (much to Patrick’s disappointment).
In short, nobody thought that dress was inappropriate. Nobody. Not the girls. Not even the boys. They all thought she looked very pretty. That’s it.
The only people who had a problem with it are toxic, women-hating assholes like Martin and… unfortunately… Henry, but with Henry it’s a little more complicated.
At this point, Henry’s struggling with his growing sexual attraction to Evelyn. By now, we all know what happened before freshmen-year finals (and if you don’t know, stop reading this before you get even more spoiled) and Henry’s still very much dealing with that.
Now it’s his first day back from suspension and Evelyn is dressed… not like Evelyn, something that Henry notices right away. And he has two reactions to this: first he gets a little aroused (whoops) and then he gets very angry and territorial.
If he’s having this response to her, what are the other guys thinking? Are they noticing her, too?
Henry doesn’t want other guys noticing Evelyn. He doesn’t want other guys looking at her or thinking about her in that way. Hands off, everyone. She’s taken.
So to answer your question—
Were all the boys staring at Evelyn in the lunchroom? No, nobody was looking at her. That was just Henry being hypersensitive and letting his dad’s bullshit get into his head.
Henry was in a very vulnerable headspace at that moment. He’s back in school. Feeling completely out of place. The girl who sexually assaulted him is sitting a few tables away. (That alone is messing with his head.) He sees Patrick groping Evelyn (wtf?). She’s letting him (WTF?). She’s wearing that damn dress.
What is going on right now? What happened while he was suspended?
Henry just started panicking. It’s really that simple.
Now Martin… yeah, that guy’s just a dick. He hates Evelyn and everything she stands for. Ever since they were kids, she’s been sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong, and Martin has been waiting for the perfect opportunity to teach her a lesson.
He sees Evelyn hanging out in the senior locker area. Sees her wearing that yellow dress.
Martin knew exactly what she was doing by wearing that dress. So he took that very innocent intention, twisted it into something shameful and ugly, and he weaponized it against her.
Martin assaulting Evelyn wasn’t about sex and it wasn’t even a rape. It was about making her feel small and worthless. And Henry showing up when he did was just the mother of all bad timings.
“See, Tozier? No one’s interested.”
I don’t think Martin realizes just how effective and painful that lesson was for her.

After chapter 31 I wonder why Henry's mother didn't take him with her, she was going to leave and said she would come back for him. Did she really have that intention or didn't, it's hard to know, maybe she never went because she had to. very afraid of Oscar and apparently Oscar even though he hit her didn't want her to leave. Probably if she had come back for Henry she would have come out much worse than that, but why not take him along with her, maybe Henry reminded her of Oscar and when she saw that she had a son with him, in some way it may have made her hate her own son when she saw his face and remembered everything that happened to her, surely her mother would not be healthy with her mental health either, after receiving all that abuse, she would have traumas or after-effects, it's not like she can act great as a mother and after leaving act like nothing happened, well she even tried to tell me when this happens (it really makes me curious
😅) Relationship or divorce problems: Relationship conflicts, separation or divorce can generate emotional tensions that make it difficult to care for children. In some cases, a mother may choose to abandon her children as a way to escape a toxic or problematic relationship.
Henry’s parents have their own tragic backstory that I think will be fully fleshed out as the story progresses (or at least that’s the plan, anyway), so there’s a lot I can’t say because I don’t wanna spoil anything, but I can say this:
Considering that Carolyn (Henry’s mom) didn’t pack a bag or anything, I think it’s pretty safe to assume that she wasn’t planning on leaving that night. Or at all, honestly. Carolyn loves her family. She loves her son. She loves her husband. If she left, it was because she was in genuine fear for her life.
Things got really bad after Henry’s last checkup. Maggie Tozier feels partially to blame for this, which is why Maggie has had such conflicted feelings about Henry’s relationship with her daughter. She’s known about their relationship for years, but she’s forced herself to turn a blind eye to it. Why? It’s not because Maggie’s a pushover. Maggie Tozier is no doormat. It’s just really hard for her to be tough on this kid when she knows she’s partly responsible for his situation.
So anyway, returning to Carolyn now, when I picture her on that night, I picture her sitting behind the wheel of the family pickup. She’s stopped at an empty intersection. Her car is the only car on the road. And she’s watching the traffic light slowly change from green to yellow to red. Her groceries are sitting on the seat beside her. She picked up a special treat for Henry, a dessert she knows he likes. Her husband will probably get mad at her for spending the extra money, but whatever, Henry deserves something sweet every once in a while.
And then she notices the bus station and it just hits her like lightning:
This is her chance.
This is her only chance.
If she doesn’t leave now, she’ll never leave.
She’ll die there. In Derry. In that horrible house.
Carolyn doesn’t wanna die.
So she buys a bus ticket and leaves everything behind, including her son.
I think Carolyn always planned to go back for Henry at some point, when it was safe for her to do so, but that’s a lot easier said than done.
Once you escape Derry, it’s almost impossible to go back.

hey how are you, I just wanted to tell you that I love chapter 31 especially for Henry for writing more about his thoughts and his entire childhood. I find it so adorable when there are memories of the characters when they are little, and what I like the most is Henry talking to little Gracie 😫 breaks my heart
Thank you! I had mixed feelings about that chapter when I released it, but now I’m quite happy with how it turned out. It’s such an important chapter for Henry and his relationship with Evelyn, and I hope it gives people a new perspective on his character.
You can still hate him. You can still be mad at him. Just… I dunno, try to understand where he’s coming from.
That’s why I wanted to write that chapter.

After reading what would happen if Evelyn left Derry, I can't stop imagining an ending and that is that Evelyn would go to a much better place than Derry, obviously I think anyone is and she would go to the same school as Jimmy, which by the way is a question.
Does Jimmy live far away? outside derry? In another country maybe?
I would see Evelyn with Jimmy being much happier and maybe Victor, as you said, will try to go to his university and those three can meet again, it would be great :)
Jimmy still lives in the New England area. He’s close enough for Evelyn to visit him by train, but too far away for those visits to be a regular thing.
Evelyn used to visit him quite often, but now that Jimmy has settled into his new life, they’re both too busy for such frequent visits.
They still talk, though. 😊

Followed your last answer, what if (because of pennywise's curse or something) she forget them? (Well Vic...)
You know, like the losers who gradually forget Derry after leaving, until Mike call them back...
Yeah, I think she would gradually start to forget like everyone else.
Over time details will start to get fuzzy, names will start to get fuzzy… Evelyn will try her hardest to resist it, of course, but eventually it will happen, which is why remaining in communication with Vic would be so important in that scenario.
Otherwise she would forget him, too. 😢
But how sad is that for Henry?? The girl you love moves away and forgets all about you? That’s cruel.
I’ve actually thought of this scenario a few times. Like an adult Richie getting his memory back after Mike’s phone call. He talks to Evelyn about it and then she starts to remember… and she realizes she forgot all about Henry.
Yeah, I think about that a lot.
