My children, Sept 1994….22 years have gone so fast. At Club Med, Bali.
Though You Are Grown
Cynthia A. Sieving
I remember years ago, you were so little then.
Sometimes, I can't help but wish, that you were small again.
I've cried when you've faced heartaches,
and saw, that as you grew, nothing broke your Spirit,
instead it strengthened you.
I'm filled with mixed emotions, as I hold back all the tears
and, with much pride remember, back so many years.
When I first held you in my arms, if only I'd have known,
the years would feel like moments, after you had grown.
You aren't a child, though in my eyes,
I guess you'll always be, that baby boy/girl who changed my life,
and means the world to me.

Beautiful art on Korean temples and other wooden structures, reffered to as Dancheong. Very vivid colours are used. These photos were taken in the mid 90's wish I had a digital camera then.

I loved the glamour and luxury of Monaco. Mind-boggling street layout, yacht-lined harbour, the old town and of course the Pink Palace. (via Monaco Travel Guide)

Sometimes one has to find joy in the small things. Playing around with some of my favourite things, this morning.

St Francis Xavier Cathedral in Geraldton, Western Australia. The colouring of the interior struck me - stripes of grey and orange. I have not before seen markings like this in a Cathedral. Apparently it is similar to the Great Mosque at El Cordoba, Spain in interior design, albeit on a much smaller scale.

I remember Greece for many reasons.... on a personal level I am really sentimental about it because my son was born there; the richness of the history and culture, the warm hearted people; the amazing tastes of the Greek cuisine (the sweetest, red tomatoes on the planet) and that brings me to the "taverna life” - there is just something magical to having a meal at a greek taverna, like the one above on the island of Crete.

The long yellow sandy road near Yuna, Balla-Whellara Road. Western Australia. An area where a farm can be as big as 100 square kilometres and the nearest town could be 200 km away. But there are parts of Australia where these proportions seem small.

Table Mountain with its “tablecloth” on. I love the mountains and the mountains in SA are amongst the most beautiful in the world. It always triggers the melody and lyrics of an old song in my head those of La Montanara, also sung in German.
Hörst du La Montanara,
die Berge sie grüßen dich?
Hörst du mein Echo schallen
und leise verhallen?
Dort wo in blauer Ferne
die Welten entschwinden
möcht' ich dich wieder finden
mein unvergeßness Glück.

I bought these Greek ceramic candle holders in Athens in 1988 and they have moved with me to a few countries since then, and still 100% in tact.
