hello all - followers and members alike. it’s with a very bittersweet feeling that i post this message to you all, but it’s something that has been weighing on my mind recently, and is something that i’ve been going back and forth on for the past few days. i know that it’s more than obvious that activity and muse for the group has fallen, and i take part of that blame, as i’ve had a harder time committing the time that i wanted to put into allure. i had very clear ideas and an arc in which i wanted to take this group in, and even more recently, a revamp that i was looking to pursue. i have always had plans for the characters and the way that the group would go, and it’s disheartening to know that i won’t get to share it with you all and see them come to light. however, more recently i have come to notice that unfortunately i do not have the time that i wish i did to admin a group of this size. it’s not about the activity or anything like that, but more about me not being able to commit the time that i feel is necessary to run this group. over the past week or so, i started a path in striving and working hard towards getting a promotion, as well as building my freelance business and taking classes. i have a lot going on in real life, and that means that roleplay will fall to the wayside, unfortunately. 

because of this, i cannot put forward the time that allure deserves - in terms of the revamp, as well as regular maintenance and pushing the story along. i realize that i could try to continue this group along for as long as i can get it to, but this group means a lot to me, and to not give it 100% is just not acceptable. this group and it’s characters and members deserve nothing less than the best, and i just can’t give that right now.

for the members of the group that were willing to stick around with me through whatever came next, please know that i appreciate you all so much, and that you guys are what kept this group going when i was unsure of it’s future or nervous about the outcome. many of you have even been with me since the very first acceptance of allure, all the way back in october of last year, and were the driving force towards me reopening it and i couldn’t possibly express how thankful i am for all of you. i’ve made some great friends in this group and met wonderful people, and nothing will change that. please know that you are more than welcome to continue roleplaying your current characters, whether it’s in a closed environment or in a 1x1 setting. 

allure has been something that i’ve worked on for almost a year now, and it’s something that will always hold a special place in my heart - from the characters to the members and everything in between. i created this group in hope of not only designing a safe space for people in the rpc looking for somewhere that they could bring poc characters to life, lgbtq+ characters to life, nonbinary characters to life - where those characters were the norm. but i also created this group in hopes of showing the rpc that it is possible to create interesting and diverse characters that people would want to play, wishing that they could take a note and be able to incorporate that into their own groups. and i sincerely believe allure did accomplish that in some ways. 

i cannot express how thankful i am for each and every person that i’ve had the opportunity to meet and get to know during this experience. you’re all wonderful people and superb writers, and it’s been a highlight of my time in the roleplay community to experience this with you all. however, for the second and final time - i do need to close this chapter on allure.

i love amandla, but i'm not really liking the gif hunts popping up for her -- do you have any suggestions on where to find good ones? or possibly any alternates for molly? with any luck i want to get an app in for her by monday!

ahhh! i’m so excited to hear that. because the exact ethnicities of both shamir and trevor, the current fcs are not something i’ve been able to locate, i can’t speak to an exactness of what ethnicity a faceclaim for molly would need to be. therefore, i think with molly we’d be looking for someone who is black and who can pass for fifteen years of age. i would say that other options you can look into are aisha dee, alexandra shipp, and possibly ashley moore.

I just wanna make sure I was reading this correctly, so sorry if this is a dumb question. If I want to apply for Dorcas, I need to do so by June 11th, correct?

not a dumb question at all! yes, you’re correct. it’s actually june 12th, since acceptances are every monday and thursday, but still - if there’s no applications for that list of characters by that date, they will go into a nonplayable character category, and will no longer be available to apply for. therefore, if you’ve been considering applying for any of those characters on the list, i highly suggest you take a look at them and determine whether or not you’d like to do so - before it’s too late.

hello, all! i hope you’re having a great wednesday. the reason for this post is in no way to cause no alarm, but is more for my own understanding on the stance of the group and it’s members, and what i need to do - whether it’s a revamp, or something along those lines. it is evident that activity has fallen and we have lost several members recently at a pace quicker than what i would have liked. though i am trying my best to recruit new members and keep the dash moving, there’s only so much that i can do in that manner. therefore, all i would like to know is what members are committed to their roles and to staying in the group. like i said, i’m not sure what the outcome of this will be, whether it’s a minor revamp into a smaller group or something along those lines, but what i ask is that if you are interested in keeping your role and staying in the group - please LIKE this post by FRIDAY at 12PM EST. anyone who has not liked this post by that time will unfortunately be reopened. like i stated, i don’t plan on closing allure any time soon, but this is for my peace of mind to know that there are people who are still interested in this group and that my time spent on trying to promo and to keep the group afloat is time well spent. if you any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me!

How active is this rp?

hello! the dash has been a little quiet, because the majority of people who are members of the group have full time jobs, or are in school, etc. - as well as for the fact that we do have members who are coming from all different time zones. but even when the dash might be on the quieter side, the ooc communications are always going, there’s usually someone always around lurking in the chat even if they can’t be active on their character. i am fully aware that real life exists - i myself have two jobs and am a student as well, so i can’t commit myself to being around and roleplay all the time. and for that reason, my activity rules are pretty lax, because roleplay is something that’s supposed to be fun and something that is a hobby - not something to stress over. i’m just looking for commitment to the group and to the character, and for consistent activity.
