Hey. Hey you. The person aimlessly scrolling, stuck in an immobilized standoff with your brain
It's not your fault. You won't be stuck forever. I know you're trying. I know you hate it. It's ok.
And tell the Mean Voice in your head that it's not helping. It knows as well as you do that you would get up and Just Start the task if you could. You're not doing this on purpose.
Take a deep breath. Relax your jaw. I see you trying so hard to break out of it, but you can't force it. You'll get Unstuck eventually. All you can do in the interim is be kind to yourself.
Penelope looked down at the identical babies in front of her. Both had her brown hair, her husband’s green eyes, the same button nose. If she hadn’t had a very active role in the birth of one of them, not even a full day ago, she would have assumed they were twins.
“You’ll need to choose wisely,” the being with her said, crossing to the other side of the cradles. “One of these babies is your newborn son, and the other is a changeling.”
Staring at the fae in front of her, it’s semi translucent skin, it’s eyes that glowed just a bit. It was smirking, looking like it had already won, and she had the sneaking suspicion that neither option would end up being the baby she gave birth to.
Reaching out to stroke the cheek of one of the infants, her answer solidified in her mind. “I’ll take them both.”
The fae looked taken aback. It clearly wasn’t expecting this. “I fear you don’t understand. One of these children is dangerous. It can take the form of anything or anyone. You will know no peace with it in your life. You must try to choose the mortal child, for if you fail you will never know rest.”
As the fae spoke, Penelope had gathered the two babies, one in each arm. She looked at her two sons, overwhelmed by her love for the tiny creatures she had just met. “From what I understand most people lose all manner of peace as soon as they have kids, it’s not an excuse to abandon a child in need of a home.”
She left then, leaving a stunned fae in her wake.
Her husband, Oliver, had of course had questions for the second child, but they were easily answered with a swift, “they’re ours, and they need a home.” And that was that. Oliver had learned a long time ago not to question his wife.
Two identical infants lay in the cradle. “One you bore, the other is a Changeling. Choose wisely,” the Fae’s voice echoed from the shadows. “I’m taking both my children,” the mother said defiantly.
If you don’t mind reblogging with your answer and how long you’ve had your name changed that would be great!
I was just curious because I have a pretty uncommon last name, but I was reading my book and it came up (same spelling and all). It was like getting jump scared I swear to god.

isn't it insane though how schizophrenic people are viewed as violent and dangerous by the majority of society when in reality schizophrenic people are nearly 14 times more likely to be on the receiving end of violence than to be the perpetrators...
“If I had time travel I’d kill Hitler” “If I had time travel I’d stop my favourite politician getting assassinated” you’re all thinking way too small. If I had time travel I’d stop Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin from dying on the moon due to Soviet sabotage, kicking off the Great Nuclear War and devastating half of the planet.
so the house of representatives just passed a bill that will now move to the senate to BAN tik tok completely in the united states and they are expected to argue that “national security risks” outweigh the freedom of speech and first amendment rights. biden has already said that if it gets to him, he will sign it. whether or not you use the app…….this is something to be worried about
