tips to get your life back on track after a breakdown™
sleep. your body needs to rest. the average panic attack takes as much energy as running a half-marathon. let yourself rest. take a 20 minute nap. any longer and you’ll hit your REM cycle, and you’ll wake up worse off. after, you’ll feel so much better.
clean something. literally anything. a plate, a draw, the whole mf bathroom. it doesn’t matter how much or how little. it’ll make you feel more in control, and it’ll make your surroundings more appropriate for recovery.
get some fresh air. even just opening your window for a few hours will help. if you feel up to it, take a walk. take your dog. pick some flowers. cloudgaze. even just sit in your garden for a bit. your body will thrive off of non-stale air. 
eat and drink. I know for some people, myself included, this is Hard. it’s alright if all you can manage is a granola bar, or some cereal. anything is progress and will fuel your body. drink water if you can, but anything apart from alcohol will hydrate you.
take a shower. I have clinical depression. have done since I was 12. I know how hard it is to take a shower. but it fucking helps. if you don’t do anything else off this list, do this. it’ll help more than you know.
talk to someone. I can’t stress this enough. humans are social creatures! we crave interaction. even the most introverted introvert needs to talk to someone. call your mom. text a buddy. skype your brother. chat to your local cashier. anything !! you’ll feel less alone, and hopefully get some good serotontitty flowing.
do something fun! same as above, it’ll make u feel so much bette, and provide a distraction. some good options are writing, drawing, watching a movie, dancing - anything you enjoy!
be kind to yourself. it’s okay if you relapsed, or if you had a bad day, or anything else. treat yourself gently. you wouldn’t so harsh to a friend in your situation. it’s gonna be okay.
if you can’t do all of these, it’s okay. there are better days ahead. this, too, will pass.

Seven Small Reminders
You are only human. Sometimes people make mistakes and that's okay. It's alright to sometimes not know the answer to the things life throws at you. Just remember to take a step back from time to time. Figure things out in your own time.
Remember to eat something. To have some water. To get some fresh air today. To get some rest. To take any medication that you need to. Remember to take care of yourself.
You are not a bad person for removing some of the bad people in your life. Sometimes things just aren't meant to work out with some people and that's okay. Your health and wellbeing come first and foremost.
Breaks are just as important as work. So remember to treat yourself to something you enjoy today. Whether that be time with your favourite book, tucking into a favourite meal or even spending some time with the people you love. You deserve it.
Having bad days is natural. If that day is today, then remember that it only gives more of an opportunity for tomorrow to be brighter. Try and be positive about it and push through. You and I know you can do this!
Productivity does not define your worth. You still matter, even on the days you feel worthless. Some days all you can do is exist, and that's more than enough. Hang in there.
If nobody has told you that you matter today, then this is dropping onto your screen to say that you matter, you are important and I'm glad you're here reading this.

okay no I need to talk  about these actually, since they’re on my dash.
if anyone doesn’t recognize these, these are Squishmallows. and they’re fantastic. they’re not just like most any old plushies, they’re not just cute, they are INSANELY SOFT. like, i have one that’s shaped like a pillow (fat square kitty!) and it’s literally like sleeping on a cloud. they come in sizes anywhere from little plush keychains to these big heckin nearly bean bag sized bois you can barely pick up.
my best friend has sensory processing disorder, and he struggles with all sorts of things because of it, but it also makes him thoroughly adore soft things that don’t make his tactile warnings go haywire. I bought him one of these ages ago because just “Oh, he’d like this, this is soft.” but he’s since collected NEARLY EVERY SINGLE ONE just because they make him so happy. he can bring the keychain sized one with him, just attached to his wallet, and when he gets overwhelmed or starts disassociating he can just sit somewhere and pet it to ground himself.
I cannot recommend these guys enough. if you need something small and soothing for your mental health that you can take anywhere or even just have in your bed, these are perfect.
