What if we're too late signing up?

At this point the pairings have all been made up, but if you are interested in being a pinch hitter should someone have to drop out before the end, send us a message to let us know!

Other than that the best way you can still participate is to share the works that are created! Any creator knows that feedback and engagement makes us happy so taking the time to reblog or leave a comment can go a long way.

Hey! I’m a new gifter and wanted to ask about the timeline. Do we need to wait until the 31st to post our gifts or can we post early? I was thinking about doing a countdown to Christmas over a handful of days? Would that be ok? (Asking anonymously so I don’t give myself away 😂) Thanks!

Thanks for the question! You do not have to wait until the 31st. In fact we encourage you to post before! The 31st is simply the deadline - if you haven’t posted by then you need too.

We’re back for a second year!

It may still be a while away, but it’s never too early to get excited about the holiday season (or to start planning a project!)

Which is why we are introducing you all to the 911 & 911: Lone Star Holiday Gift Exchange: a non-denominational holiday gift exchange for the 911 and 911: Lone Star fandoms!

To celebrate the holiday season we are inviting anyone who would like to to participate in the secret santa like gift exchange! Any content creator can participate, from either fandom! All you need to do to participate is fill out this google form and we will pair you with a gift recipient and provide some basic information on what they would like. Everyone who signs up to make a gift for someone will also receive a gift. We answered some faq’s, but feel free to send an ask or message us with any other questions you may have. If you participated last year welcome back, you’ll find there haven’t been too many changes. We’re glad to see you back!

Timeline can be found under the cut, we can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with this year!

Since you did not include your url, I will answer here publicly.

As for your first comment, unfortunately we do have impose the deadlines. It’s the only way to ensure that everyone that does sign up gets something. Last year, we allowed over a month to get the content done and only had a few people that did not follow through. You are welcome to sign up and if you let us know you’re dropping out before the first or second check in, you will not be banned... the only time issues come up is if you say you’re going to post and don’t, or you just stop replying. 

I (Jamie) also love acting as a beta! But for this event, we haven’t considered that as an option. We might talk about it, but I think we’re going to stick with just having participants who will be creating something sign up at this time.

And finally, yes this is a strictly Tumblr event. All gifts must be shared on Tumblr, though you are also welcome to share on other platforms (most of the people that wrote fics for last years exchange also cross-posted to AO3) but in order for your submission to count, you must have a Tumblr account and post it on here in order for it to be reblogged on this blog. You’ll find soon that Tumblr is actually a great place to look for fics, and most writers do promote their works on here!

Last year, we hosted our very first gift exchange for the 911 and 911 Lone Star fandom. Though it wasn't all smooth, overall it was a success. We look forward to hosting again this year, but before the official sign-up survey goes out, we wanted to see how much interest there is and make any changes accordingly.
