Morning routine for a productive day
September last year (2018), I started my jyoti meditation journey with Bettina in Le Mans, France. Since, I try to make it everyday meditating first thing in the morning.
Recently, I get up with already a lot of thought in my mind which make it harder to concentrate for meditation.
I tried listening to calm music, to go to bed early, to meditate anyway. Finally, I find out that when I do a 30 minutes yoga practice before, it’s much easier to concentration for meditation.
It’s been a while now, I repeat almost always the same yoga practice because I don’t want to think when waking up.
youtube
After about 30 minutes yoga practice, I continue with a 40 minutes jyoti meditation sitting on my yoga mat with my back again the wall to keep me stay at the position as long as possible.
That’s it!
Sorry if you’re waiting for my breakfast recipes but I don’t usually take breakfast.
I do read a little sometimes after the meditation or write something. It depends what I have to do next.
Oh! I have to say that wake up early in the morning help to have a productive day a lot. I tend to multi-tasks / multi-activities. Waking up early make watching korean drama less guilty during the day since I have much more time to use. or playing candy crush.

10kg off from Fasting
Summer 2018, over 65kg, I decided to do the intermittent fasting. I watched several video from Youtube about how it’s done and what the results people get. Then I fix my own open window, noon to 18h. It went quite well as I lost several kilos quickly and I do enjoy the feeling of hungry. Several months later, my weight stays at 62kg and I feel my body get used to the intermittent fasting. Back then I didn’t restrict my calorie intake at all and I consume a lot of starch as rice and noodles.
When we decided to visit China in the beginning of 2019, I knew that I’ll eat quite a lot there with my families and friends. Also, the food there is just too good. I do want to lose weight before the trip.
Again from Youtube, I ran into a video by MD Jason Fung which he talked about diabetes. Since my mom almost get the type II diabetes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXXGxoNFag4), I’m always looking for information to prevent that happen again. With this video I learn a lot about insulin. Then I watched several other video of him and I learned how our body store and burn fat. Also, the idea of fasting get into my mind.
I’ve already heard of fasting, juice fasting, water fasting or dry fasting. But I never get the idea to do it myself. I guess I never thought that my body can do this.
Christmas 2018, I don’t want to eat the big Christmas meal next to people eating a lot of animals products. I mean I usually get a vegan meal prepared for me kindly but they are always greasy processed food. I then use this opportunity to start my fasting.
I started by not eating nor drinking at all. I spent almost all day staying in my bed with a computer to get my mind off from food. It worked. I dry fasted two days and my belly never felt that empty.
Then one night at around 3h, I cannot get a good sleep. I don’t know what happened but it felt weird. So I get up and sliced an apple and eat it. It was so good. It was sweet, juicy and fresh. I learn that after not eating nor drinking for two days, your taste buds definitely feels more flavor.
I continued the fasting since I feel really good. I still reduced a lot my physical effort. I was so happy the day my weight dropped under 60kg. It didn’t happen since maybe 10 years. It definitely confirmed me my fasting journey.
I’m 1m55 tall. I consider my optimal weight should be around 45kg. I feel shrinking already from my old body but I still have a lot of excess fat to get rid of.
When fasting, my digestion system changed since I didn’t give it anything to digest. But I know that I have something in my belly that I want it out. So I went to get a lot of greens and a head of celery for juicing. I also want to get nutrients and minerals. During several days, I made one salad a day with greens and some homemade kimchi for flavor. It worked well.
My weight dropped from 59kg to 57kg slowly since I went to a restaurant with my boyfriend and another restaurant with a friend also. Other then that, I dry fast as long as I can and I drink water of have an apple when I feel to.
I started a 30 days natural movement yoga challenge made by a friend. It’s my everyday sport. I walk a little bit more everyday also and I get more and more energy everyday.
It’s the 12th of January 2019. There’s been 20 days since I started the first dry fasting. My weight is a little bit over 55kg. It’s officially 10kg off from this summer. I’m so proud of myself. I have a brunch tomorrow. I’ll very much enjoy it to celebrate the milestone then get back to fasting again of course.
I’m planning to fast as much as I can until my optimal weight, 45kg, then adjust my diet to maintain the weight. It’s another 10kg to lose and I know it’ll be more difficult than the first 10kg. But I’m very motivated and inspired and I know that I can do it.
I still have two weeks before heading to China. I’ll do the best I can try not to gain back too much weight while I was there.
