"He was waiting for you." His blood was cold. In his veins, on his hands. The muscles exposed in his baby brother's arm had stopped twitching hours ago but Donovan couldn't make himself react. "The entire time. His constant screaming made that clear enough."

The man was idly wiping blood off a long blade, more than likely prepared to drive it into the base of the older brother's skull to paralyze but not kill him. That would make things too easy and why waste another valuable asset?

Cold blood was tacky. Sticky. Smeared over the side of Donovan's face from where it pooled and gushed from the now empty socked that once held those lively bright eyes of his brother. His precious baby brother.

He could feel the pressure building in his gut. Thrumming through his veins, into his muscles. His bones creaked. The beast that had been pressed below the surface years ago was screaming to be released and was clawing through the gaps of his ribcage to be freed. Bishop began to approach behind him, smooth footsteps, unrushed. The smell of decay was thick in the air, cold clean surgical steel and antiseptic coated his nostrils and curdled in his stomach but fresh human blood would be spilt to cover the stench.

He swore it.
