My Dream from Last Night (4/26/2024)
Last night, I had this dream where there was a staircase that took me upstairs to this loft. And when I was at the top, there was this table with a stereo boombox and a light switch. And I wanna say there was also an HDTV or something. The characters from “Chicken Little” somehow came to life as I reenacted the film while self-inserting myself as my OC I made for said film, Commentair Jones (Click here to learn more about him). I was mostly still human, but I imagined myself as my character. The other set of lights came on and there seemed to be a science class going on, but we did a rap involving numbers with an A, B, or C at the end of each double digit number.

Okay, you know how I said in these posts that I have examples in June? Well, my aforementioned example is now considered a surprise until June. In the meantime, what are your thoughts on if Hat Kid dressed up as Mary Poppins? I don't know too much of "A Hat in Time", as I only knew of it thanks to gamemaster468.

For almost ten years now, I got into the spirit of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" after enjoying a bit of "Littlest Pet Shop (2012)". I recall listening to Pinkie Pie's theme song and having an earworm (at least in a positive light) after revisiting that song out of curiosity. And to this day, Pinkie Pie is still my favorite character from that show, but I also liked Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Minuette (mostly because of these videos Rina-Chan did when she was around on YouTube) later down the line. And when it came to the theatrical and digital release of Paramount Animation's "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic 2: A New Generation", I guess I liked Izzy, since she somewhat reminded me of Pinkie Pie. If I could create a hybrid pony of my own (not for original stories like Cuddles and not as a self-insert), here's how I would imagine my pony hybrid. For starters, she's a great singer like all the other ponies depending on if she got involved in a musical number or if she sang her own songs. Her skin should also be soft like all the other ponies. Aside from that, here's some traits I would give this pony hybrid.
Like Pinkie Pie and Izzy, she's optimistic, bubbly, and affectionate. She'll accept kisses, hugs, shaking hooves, and holding hooves. She could also have magic powers like Pinkie temporarily had with the bewitching bell on her, but she wouldn't grow into a giant. However, she would still be all-powerful. Like Pinkie Pie, it's possible she could have her fourth-wall breaking abilities.
Like Fluttershy, she would be extremely kind and would be very comforting. She'd also have wings on her back that allow her to fly.
Like Minuette, she could be a friendly dentist who would clean your teeth. If she had a horn on her head, she could levitate her dental instruments with her magic.
I'd probably wind with an alicorn as my end result, but in her "Equestria Girls" form, she'd be a human with all those traits carried over. As a dentist, she'd clean peoples' teeth by hand instead of using her magic. But there can be times where her wings can pop out from her back if you'd like. The only thing I don't know about is what colored skin this pony should have between blue or purple, since I like those colors.

Two versions of "Take one thing from Lisa Loud, Leni Loud, Carlota Casagrande, and Maria Santiago and mix them together" by me. This one was hard in terms of thinking and planning this out, but if I were to hypothetically make my own "Loud House" girl and not have her be a self-insert, here's my sampling of qualities I would take from Leni, Carlota, Lisa, and Maria. Instead of Maria Santiago, I was originally going to use Nurse Patti instead. But because I couldn't find a good image of her, I went with Maria because she's more of a nurse you'd see in a hospital room, wheras Nurse Patti is only a school nurse. I think there's a difference between that in my last statement, but let's try to get back on topic.
Like Leni and Carlota, this hybrid would be extremely friendly and has a loving and caring personality, except she wouldn't be dumb and naive like Leni. She would also be polite, supporting, and a comforting friend to have around. She'll accept hugs and handshakes since she's very affectionate. And for boys, she'll accept kisses as long as it's only her lips, cheeks, or her hands. In fact, she'll hold your hand in comfort. She could also have a good taste in fashion like Leni and Carlota combined.
As far as physical features, she could have the same body as Leni does, albeit more grown up, like say, in her 20s or 30s. She would also have the same hairstyle Leni has. If she were depicted in live action, there would be no veins on the back of her hands. And her voice could be like either Leni or Carlota's. I'm not quite sure.
Like Lisa, her hair would be brown and she would have a smart personality. I don't know if she would build gadgets or mix chemicals, as I don't really see her as a "scientist". She wouldn't even wear glasses like Lisa does.
Like Maria, she actually would indeed be someone in the medical field. Whether she'd be a doctor or a nurse is up to your imagination, but she'd be able to do stuff like perform CPR and have a good handle on some of the medical equipment.
As far as a name, I was thinking she could be called either "Lizzie" or "Lauren". Something that starts with either an "L" or an "R". Again, not suggesting to make an OC for self-inserts and/or original fanfictions, but just an OC used for drawings only.

Continuing from my last post, here's who else I can imagine fusing together. I can imagine that if we had a fusion of Lisa and Leni, she'd have the same nice and friendly personality as Leni does mixed together with Lisa's high level of intelligence.

I've lately gotten myself into a character fusion mood, and I have two combinations for who I would merge Leni with. So for starters, here's my imagining of if there was a fusion of Leni with Carlota.

Considering my love for both Jenny and Kitty, I've recently wondered what would happened if there was ever a fusion of Jenny and Kitty together. She'd probably be a robot-cat hybrid, or simply a Kitty Katswell look-alike with a white fur coat and long blue hair (Hopefully wearing the same outfit Kitty wears), but I digress.

Back in 2019, Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, despite Blue Sky Studios closing after "Spies in Disguise" was released on DVD, Blu-Ray (2D and 3D), and Ultra HD Blu-Ray in April 2010 during the time COVID-19 hit the United States. And yet, I had this idea for if my OC should be a mascot character at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
I don't know when they'll add the characters from "Rio", but until then, here are two versions of my interaction and photo tips for meeting Rio. I assume he should be able to hug the guests, but he just won't able to sign autographs due to his wings. I'm also debating on whether Rio should wear his crown or not.
I was also thinking Rio should appear during nighttime shows, with his own parade float as "I Like To Move it Move it" plays from the speakers. The mascot performer dressed as Rio would basically pantomime to his pre-recorded voice tracks combined with the music.

Rio's appearance in "Rio 2"
Before the movie starts, the screen fades from black revealing Rio wearing RealD 3D glasses and holding a clapperboard in his wings. He introduces the audience to the theatrical short film, "Almost Home" (which was also shown before the previous 20th Century Fox/Blue Sky Studios/DreamWorks Animation movie, "Mr. Peabody and Sherman") and closes the clapperboard, with the screen fading to black on cue.
Rio: Hi everybody, Rio here. Keep your 3D glasses on, because before we start the movie, here's an exclusive theatrical short called "Almost Home". (Closes the clapboard and the screen fades to black)
"Almost Home" starts playing with the short variants of the 20th Century Fox logo, the Blue Sky Studios logo with Scrat holding onto the "B" in "Blue", and the short DreamWorks Animation logo. After "Almost Home" ends, the movie begins with a Samba version of the 20th Century Fox logo, the 2013 Blue Sky Studios logo introduced in "Epic" (with a logo joke where Rio lands on the "e" in "Blue" and sits until it breaks off), and the DreamWorks Animation logo, which transitions to the moon shown as a reflection from the Atlantic Ocean.
The opening of the movie starts with Rio singing the Will.I.am version of "I Like To Move it Move it" from the last "Rio" movie, this time, with Rio singing all of the opening verses. Pedro and Nico join the former king and sing with him, until the humans and birds (in separate locations) shout "Move it!". On cue, the music transitions to "I'm Blue (Da Ba Dee)", with the first part sung by Rio until his "To listen" echoes. After a brief moment of silence, Rio encourages his son to sing something as Jewel and the other birds stare at him.
Rio: Well don't stand there. Sing something.
The music continues after King Blu says "I'm Blu" and repeats "Da ba de da ba die", not knowing what else to say. Ultimately, Pedro approved what Blu was saying, and everyone else continued singing "I'm Blue (Da Ba De)" as King Blu and Queen Jewel take the dance floor, with Rio singing in the background. After the musical number is over, the song repeats instrumentally with King Blu and Queen Jewel still dancing until they notice Rafael dancing with his wife. He was supposed to babysit Carla, Bia, and Tiago. Luiz dances to the king and queen telling them that Tiny is watching them.
When Rio, King Blu, and Queen Jewel return to find Tiago lighting a match and saying "Here we go!" only for Rio to land and say "Whoa, whoa whoa! Hold up there, little squirt!" Rio turns to the camera and tells the audience that that he'll be with them in just a minute. And as King Blu and Rio remind the princesses and prince the royal oath, "Birds of blue feathers have to stick together", Rio starts to feel a burn and runs around screaming while he's on fire. He accidentally lights the fireworks and frees Tiny, only for Rio to be tied to the rocket Tiny was tied to, and Rio gets launched into the air. Rio falls and land on the arm of the statue, and Blu checks his dad to see if he's okay.
Rio: That... was... (Springs up joyously) AWESOME! Let's do it again!
King Blu: (Puts his wings on his dad's shoulders) Let's not.
Prince Tiago: Oh man! How come Grandpa gets to have all the fun?
Princess Carla: Look, it worked!
The Rio family see the fireworks in the sky and watch in awe.
King Blu: Well... this year's off to a great start.
Rio: It sure is, sonny boy! And cue logo!
The title appears and Rio pauses the movie, jumping up from the bottom of the screen welcoming everyone back and discussing a brief recap of the last movie's events.
Rio: Ha-ha! I love the number two! Love it! For those of you who don't know me, my name's Rio. Hence the name, "Rio 2". For those of you who saw the last movie, I passed down the crown to my son, Blu. And so far, he and Jewel are running a pretty sturdy kingdom. But enough about that. On with the movie!
(Rio jumps down and continues the movie)
After we see the first part of Linda and Tulio's journey to the Amazon, Rio narrates the house son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren live. Jewel catches Rio doing another one of those "fourth wall breaks" or monologues (whatever you think sounds better) and asks where Blu is. Rio explains, "He's in the house. He's cooking my grandchildren some royal breakfast.". And that's exactly what happens in the next scene, as Blu cooks his son and daughters blueberry pancakes. After Blu kicks a blueberry on top of the whipped cream, Rio comes in while chanting.
Princess Carla and Princess Bia: Goal!
King Blu (While dancing): Oh yeah! I've got it. I'm good.
Rio (Chanting): B-L-U! Who's that spell? Blu that's you!
Princess Carla and Princess Bia: Grandpa!
Rio: (Laughs and enters the window) Morning, little munchkins Morning, sonny boy! (Sniffs the scent from the pancakes) And you managed to cook breakfast for yourself! (Sees the pancakes)
Rio (Dreamy): Ah! My favorite.
King Blu: Well, dig in, dad. Help yourself.
Rio: Oh, don't mind if I do. (Bows to his son) Your highness.
Tiago kicks some blueberries to Blu and Blu accidentally launches the pancake from the pan as it hits Tiago, with Rio remarking "Saved by the bird!", and Jewel comes in with a Brazil nut and Carla shows Rio, Blu, and Jewel Tulio and Linda on the news with their discovery of another blue spix macaw feather. After the discovery, Jewel feels remorseful and apologizes to Rio for how she treated him when he took her in. All in forgiven, as Rio still mentions his promise to find Jewel's family after she marries his son, which was what they agreed to. So after seeing there are more blue spix macaws, Rio feels like his end of the bargain has been fulfilled. Later, Rio goes back to the rainforest announcing that he'll be leaving Rio to see the Amazon, entrusting his wife to take charge.
As the Rio family prepare to leave, Rafael, Nico, and Pedro join them as they fly to the Amazon. And during their flight, we see how Nigel's doing during his exile by Rio. Nigel has been reduced to a bird who picks up fortune-telling cards. When he sees the Rio, we see a flashback from the first movie when Rio banished Nigel.
King Rio (Mad): Nigel, for assaulting the princess, and attempting to hurt my son, I sentence you to exile! Take it away. son!
After the scene where Nigel gets attacked by the propeller coming towards him, we see another flashback where three surgeons operate on him, announcing that he won't be able to fly again. Back in reality, Nigel angrily shouts "That blue monarch caused my misery!" and goes a rampage, resulting in the freedom of Gabi, whose glass jar breaks open. After the uncut music number, "Poisonous Love", Rio pauses the movie at the end of the song and rises up in disgust.
Rio: (Jumps up from the bottom of the screen) Ugh! That is disgusting! Although, I will give you kudos on that final note there. Ugh. Love's disgusting.
(Rio jumps back down and continues the movie)
On the boat, Nigel sees Rio sleep-singing "I Like To Move it Move it", and prevents Gabi from dropping her poison into Blu's beak.
Nigel: Stop!
Gabi: Oh.
Nigel: This one is mine.
(In his sleep, Rio thinks Nigel is Queen Rio and stands.)
Rio (Sleeping): Oh, but of course, honey. Let's dance.
Nigel: Wait. Not-not you! (Rio holds Nigel's wing while wrapping his other wing around Nigel's hip) Hey! Stop! Let-let go!
Rio waltzes with Nigel like they're a couple, with Nigel annoyed and having a hard time keeping balance due to Rio sleep-dancing and laughing while he's still asleep.
Nigel: Even when you're sleep-walking, you're annoying.
Rio (Sleeping): (Laughs) You're funny. Wanna go for a spin?
Nigel: N-no spinning! No spinning! (Rio twirls him around until Nigel stops him) Stop!
With Rio now sleeping standing up, Nigel orders him to leave, which is what Rio does.
Nigel: Leave.
Rio (Sleeping): Um, yeah. Sure, whatever you say, queen.
(Nigel gets a confused look on his face)
Though, I gotta tell ya, your voice sounds weird. Need a cough drop?
Nigel now focuses his attention to the king with a little nursery rhyme.
Nigel: Twinkle, twinkle, little Blu. How I wondered where were you? Up above the world so high, are you ready... (Unsheathes his talons) to die?
Rio (Sleeping): Die? (Wakes up in shock) Die? DIE!?
Blu (Sleeping): You have bad breath.
Nigel: Even in sleep, you mock me, just like your dad!
Charlie the Anteater gets his nose stuck in the jar and pulls it off, resulting in the foghorn blaring and waking everyone up. The next morning, the Rio family, Rafael, Nico, and Pedro continue flying as they enter the Amazonian jungle. After Rio and Blu get lost, and reunite with the rest, they see all the blue spix macaws in the Amazon. When Blu chokes on the pack of Tic Tacs, two blue spix macaws perform the Heimlich Maneuver, resulting in the pack hitting Rio's head, then being caught by Eduardo, who is revealed to be Jewel's father.
Eduardo: I've looked everywhere for you.
Queen Jewel: I'm here. (Hugs Eduardo and cries happy tears) Daddy!
King Blu and Rio: "Daddy"?
Rio: Wait a minute, wait a minute. You mean to tell me you're a king too?
(Eduardo turns to Rio confused)
If you're a king, then where's your crown? I've got a crown. (Extends his wing to Blu) And I gave it to my son. (Points to Blu's head) On his head.
Eduardo: I can see that.
Queen Jewel (Crying happily): I missed you. (Sniffles)
Jewel goes on to explain to Eduardo that Rio found him and made her a princess. Then she met Blu and became the new king and queen of Rio. Eduardo hugs the king, thanking him for protecting his daughter. And after Nico and Pedro cry, Rio tells them to suck it up and turns to Eduardo reminding him he's supposed to bow, only Eduardo to tell Rio that he's a king too, and he doesn't need to bow to anyone. Then he finds out that Carla, Bia, and Tiago are his grandchildren and tells Bia to call him "Pop-Pop". They later meet Jewel's mother, and an old childhood friend, Roberto. After Roberto sings the uncut version of "Welcome Back", Rio is moved by the end of the song and cries in tears.
Rio (Crying happily): (Sniffles) Wow! That... was the most beautiful singing... I ever heard!
(Rio breaks down into tears and cries hysterically)
Pedro: And he tells us to suck it up.
Roberto: Who's that guy?
Rio (Crying happily): Rio. (Sticks his wing out) Pleased to meet you.
(Roberto looks at Rio's wing filled with mucus and is disgusted)
Sorry. I got a little mucus on my wing. (Wipes his wing on the leaves) Call me.
Roberto: (Turns back to Jewel) Wow, you look great!
After the uncut version of the song, "Beautiful Creatures", Blu watches his dad, wife, and kids enjoying themselves with the blue spix macaw tribe. After Rio cheers, "Yay! Let's do it again! On me!", he inhales to start singing again, only for the next scene to reveal, Nigel, Gabi, and Charlie in the jungle forest. After Nigel announces his revenge (like in the teaser trailer), Roberto grants Rio, Blu, and Jewel access to his home.
Roberto: What is this crazy talk? No, you guys are staying my nest. I'm on patrol tonight. Mi casa es su casa.
Rio (Flattered): Well, thank you very much, except for Blu is the king, so you're going to have to give him royal treatment.
Roberto: Anything. Just so long as doesn't interfere with my night job.
Rio: Well, I have an entire list of things that I normally would go through when I was king. (One of Rio's former advisors pulls out a long scroll from Rio's fanny pack) So now, this is Blu's schedule. I just hope you and your servants can follow this... well...
(The long scroll unravels open while the camera follows it rolling until it stops)
Roberto: Hey, anything you say.
Queen Jewel: That's really nice, Beto.
King Blu: (Wraps his wing around Jewel) Thank you, but we're fine. Besides, our whole family couldn't possibly fit in your bachelor pad.
We cut to inside Roberto's tree and Rio, Blu, and Jewel are in awe.
King Blu: Real estate must be pretty cheap around here.
Rio: "Cheap"? It's heaven! If only I could I have more servants to fit in this place. Maybe I should've had my wife come.
Queen Jewel: Wow! This place is incredible.
Bia, Carla, and Tiago claim their bunks, and Roberto swears to Rio and King Blu that he'll always protect the family no matter what. He wishes everyone good night and flies out the tree.
Roberto (While flying): Good night, Ju-ju!
Queen Jewel (While waving): Good night!
Rio: Wait, no "good night" from your number one fan?
Roberto (Off-screen, from a distance): You too, Rio! Night-night!
Rio (Satisfied): I think he gets it.
The next morning, Eduardo take Rio and Blu out for some training. During the uncut version of "It's a Jungle Out There", Eduardo and Rio show Blu how to be part of the jungle. Now matter how hard Blu tries, he can't do anything right. And when they meet Felipe, the leader of the Red Macaw Tribe, Rio tells them that Blu is the next King Rio and they should treat him with respect. Eduardo joins Rio in telling them off and they soon see men in hardhats down below. Blu mentions finding Linda and Rio clarifies that he was with one when he found Jewel. He pulls down a projector sheet and shows Blu and Eduardo a slideshow with stills from "Rio", further clarifying the events of the last movie.
Rio (Satisfied): So there you have it, clean and simple. (Rolls the projector screen up out of view) I think I've proven my point.
Eduardo (Mad): You don't understand. You do not bring humans into our tribe. That is the only reason we're still alive. You two cannot be confused about this. Understood?
Blu begins to have a debate in his head about whose side to choose.
King Blu (Thinking): What should I do? As a king, I should just say I don't. If I say yes, he would never understand.
King Blu (Out loud): Yeah. Got it.
Eduardo: (Turns to Rio) How about you? Anything to say for yourself?
Rio: I think I get the memo.
Eduardo: Very good. Sightseeing is over.
Eduardo brings Blu and Rio back to the tree, and after we see Nigel put Gabi's poison on a quill, Rio pauses the movie.
Rio: (Jumps up from under the screen and sees the poisoned quill in the Blu dummy) "To die for"? This can't be good. Do you think we could get back to me?
(Rio walks to the right until he leaves the room, where the screen cuts back to Rio guiding a group of birds carrying a giant boombox.)
Rio (Calling): That's it, a little more! Stop!
(The flock comes to a halt)
Now gently lower it down!
(They all slowly descend until the boombox touches the ground.)
Perfect! And not a single scratch. Now, all I need is a USB cord or a Bluetooth device to connect to my iPhone and bam! Instant background music for all in the Amazon.
Queen Rio: But what about if the humans hear us? You know this isn't Rio, Rio.
Queen Jewel (While flying): Mom! (Hugs her) I thought you weren't coming.
Queen Rio: I wasn't, until I thought in my head that my husband would have been homesick without his music. And well, I had a few workers carry this boombox for days.
Queen Jewel: Boombox? Dad, you know my dad wouldn't like this!
Rio: Why wouldn't he? This is about the most harmless tool in the world. Nothing comes out but music and audio, and it's got a volume dial, a disc player, and an AUX port for your earpieces or Apple devices.
Queen Jewel: Alright, it can stay, but keep it on low volume. If the humans hear what you're playing, they'll find us and hunt us down.
Rio: …Which isn't going to happen at all. So far, no humans have seen or heard us during our trip. Except the ones in the audience watching.
Queen Jewel: I still don't know how you always do that.
Rio's wife: Never question my husband, sweetie. Why don't you check to see if Blu's doing fine. I'm sure he must be finding it hard to fit it since you got here.
Queen Jewel: Maybe I will. (Flies up to Blu, who is shown packing his stuff.)
Later that night, Blu and Eduardo debate about each other from opposite perspectives, even going as far Blu mentioning that as much as he wants to be like his dad, Rio has his head in the clouds. That night, Blu gets an idea and asks his dad for help.
King Blu (Whispering): Dad? Dad? Dad?
Rio (Sleeping): Son, no. I don't wanna dance right now.
King Blu (Whispering): Dad, this is serious!
Rio (Sleeping): Tell me in the morning, son.
King Blu (Whispering): You're gonna miss the Super Bowl.
Rio: (Wakes up) Super Bowl? I'm gonna perform in the Super Bowl? Okay.
(Rio and Blu sneak out of the tree quietly)
King Blu (Whispering): I'll be the one to surprise her. Breakfast in bed, coming up.
Rio (In Realization): Oh, a role-reversal. Okay, okay. Son, do you really wanna do this? (Points down) I've got a boom box down there.
King Blu: Okay, perfect.
The next morning as Blu looks for a Brazil nut, Blu winds up on the Red Macaw Tribe's territory, and Felipe tells the king to meet him at the Pit of Doom for a showdown. Eduardo finds out about this and tells Roberto to look for his best birds. And when he tries to look for Rio, he finds him with a boom box.
Eduardo (While flying): I've gotta find Rio.
(Eduardo finds Rio with a boom box)
Hey, Rio.
(Eduardo stares at the boom box)
What is that thing? I told you, no human stuff allowed!
Rio: But, if you please, this is actually harmless. It's a music player.
Eduardo: Music? Fine. For the Pit of Doom. And the Pit of Doom only.
(Eduardo flies off)
Rio (Bitterly): He shouldn't have to tell me what to do, I'm the king! Or, used to be. I sound like my son.
(We cut back to Roberto flying)
Roberto: Let's go, let's go, let's go! Pit of Doom, now!
At the Pit of Doom, before the games begin, Rio shouts "WAIT!", and talks to both sides.
Rio: WAIT! What about the joy of good sportsmanship? The truce between enemies? You know this is only fair play. Why, you don't even have a halftime show!
Eduardo (Confused): Halftime? What's "halftime"?
Rio: Only the greatest little show on Earth! Come on, where's your spirit? You mean you don't know what halftime is?
Rio calls out to his wife and Blu's current servants.
Rio: Bring in the boombox!
Rio's wife and the other birds from Rio arrive while carrying the boom box and set it down.
Rio: I'm gonna play you a little song. Queen, drop a beat!
Rio's wife turns on the boombox, playing an instrumental version of the JXL version of the Elvis Presley song, "A Little Less Conversion" as heard in other DreamWorks Animation films like "Shark Tale" and "Megamind". The crowd joins in on Rio's singing, and after the song ends, the crowd cheers for Rio's performance as he exits the play zone.
Rio: Drop a mic, and bam! Now you can start your game.
With Blu stuck as the waterboy, he gets jealous when his dad is picked by Eduardo to carry on the team. While no one pays attention to Rio, he eventually catches the nut with his open mouth, only for one of the other blue spix macaws to spit it out of Rio's mouth and make the score tied.
Rio (While flying): Got it!
(The Brazil nut lands in Rio's mouth)
Rio (Muffled): I got it! I got it! I got it!
(A blue spix macaw does the Heimlich Maneuver on Rio, making the nut in his mouth fly into the goal.)
Tapir Game Announcer: GOAL!
Rio: Huh! I did it! And someone gave me CPR!
Porcupine Game Announcer: We are tied in the Pit of Doom.
Porcupine Game Announcer (Off-screen): Whoever scores next...
Tapir Game Announcer: Wins it all!
(Rio sees the Brazil nut fly over his head and fall into the water)
Rio (While flying): I got it! (Dives down) I got it! I got it! I got it!
Queen Jewel (Worried): Come on, dad.
(Rio dives for the nut, only for a piranha to jump out of the water and snag it. Rio kicks it around and gets bit in the leg.)
King Blu (Shocked): Dad!
Porcupine Game Announcer: Wow! Rio is suddenly playing like a pro!
Unfortunately, Rio fired the nut into the wrong goal, and Eduardo let out a scream of anger while Rio cheers for himself.
Eduardo (Mad): I'M GONNA KILL YOU, SHOWBOATER!
Eduardo assaults Rio and beats him up, much to the horror of Blu, who's still on water boy duty. He could have a flashback of how Rio saved his life in the last movie, and do what Rio did to Nigel. Blu intervenes and breaks up the fight while angrily calling out Eduardo.
King Blu (Mad): LEAVE HIM ALONE!
Rio: Son, stay out of this.
King Blu (Mad): No! I'm doing this for you, dad. (Turns to Eduardo) You are not to lay a talon on my father! And whether you want me to be experienced or not, I am the king! My first order of business...
(The crowd turns to Blu and we cut to a closeup of his beak)
EXILE!
The crowd gasps in horror, and the blue spix macaws are saddened by the fact that Blu stripped Eduardo from his title as king of the amazon. And after Felipe talks to Eduardo about starting a nut-free diet, Blu apologizes to his father and Eduardo.
King Blu (Sad): Dad, that come out of nowhere! I'm sorry!
Eduardo (Coldly): I shouldn't have expected more from a spoiled brat! (Flies away, accepting Blu's orders.)
With the Pit of Doom emptied out, Jewel asks Rio and Blu what had happened, only for Blu to confess that he had to banish Eduardo for attacking Rio.
Queen Jewel: We should talk about this.
King Blu: Talk about what?
Rio: Son, I get it. You were trying to save my life. And banishing someone is hard. Believe me, I've been through a lot worse. It's not easy.
Queen Jewel: Blu, look around. The kids are thriving. They love being in the wild. Maybe this place is home.
King Blu (Mad): Home? How could this be home? I have done everything I can to fit in and help out, but no matter what I do is wrong. That's not home, Jewel. Maybe for you, but not for me. And certainly not for dad.
Blu takes off his father's crown and gives it back to his dad in remorse.
King Blu: I'm sorry, dad. I'll never be able to live in your footsteps.
Rio: But, son...
Queen Jewel: (Mad at Blu) You know what? You need to figure out what you want. And maybe stop thinking about yourself and think about us. (Looks down to Rio) Dad, I know what my dad did was uncalled for. I'll still talk to him about it, but you need to do the same.
Jewel flies off, and Blu, after kicking a rock, puts his fanny pack back on and activates his GPS.
King Blu: Come on, dad. We're going back to Rio. Together.
Jewel watches our titular characters fly off, and Rio and Blu make it to Linda and Tulio's campsite, only to see nothing.
King Blu: Goodbye, Linda.
Rio: Goodbye, Tulio. Thank you again for your promise. You stuck to your word.
King Blu: (Unbuckles his fanny pack and sets it on the table) Goodbye, fanny pack.
GPS: Turn around, when possible.
King Blu (Embarrassed): Sorry, GPS Lady. It's not you, it's me.
Rio: (Takes off his crown and hands it to Blu) Aren't you gonna goodbye to your... I mean, my crown?
King Blu (Confidentially): Not this time, dad. (Takes the crown back and puts it back on his head) If I want to be king, I'm gonna run things my way. Goodbye, pancakes. Goodbye, coffee.
Blu spits out the coffee, and he sees a broken radio. Then he and Rio are jump-attacked by Roberto, who calls them traitors. Rio comes to Blu's defense about siding with humans and jump out of the way of an incoming bulldozer. Blu takes charge by ordering Roberto to warn the others while Blu tries finding Eduardo to unbanish him. Rio stops Blu and asks if he should apologize to Eduardo before unbanishing him. Blu accepts on the condition that his dad hand him back his crown. Rio gives Blu his crown back, and Rio flies off until he sees Linda and Tulio tied to a tree. Rio frees them and flies up to see the horror of what the men in bulldozers are doing.
King Rio (While flying) (Worried): I wish Blu was here right now. This place is a wasteland! (Turns to the screen) I mean, just look at it, it is! Even those of you with the 3D glasses, Look at this! I certainly wouldn't want to live in this.
Back with Blu, Blu flies to Eduardo and apologizes for losing it at the Pit of Doom and banishing him, but while Eduardo is satisfied that he's no longer banished, he coldly responds, "This does not mean I accept your apology. It's gonna take a lot more than "I'm Sorry" and unbanishing me to change my mind.". While Blu acknowledges this, he and Eduardo see Roberto going crazy and telling them that Rio was with the loggers.
Roberto: The loggers are coming! And Rio is with them!
Eduardo: Rio? (Gets angry) Traitor!
King Blu (Retorting back): Hey! Don't make me banish you again!
Roberto: No, King Blu is right! Rio is trying to help us!
Queen Jewel (Shocked): What!? By himself?
Eduardo: Let's evacuate! (Turns to Blu) Blu, what should we do?
King Blu: We've gotta go after my father! He could be in terrible trouble!
Eduardo: Then let's go! Everybody move out!
(The Blue Spix Macaw tribe fly away by Eduardo's orders)
Go! Go! Go!
Queen Jewel: Dad! No, not this time. I'm not going with you!
Eduardo: You have to go with me! (Puts his wings on Jewel's shoulders) I will not put my family in danger again.
Queen Jewel: Rio is my family too! He's my dad-in-law!
King Blu: And Jewel's my family too. We're not leaving him behind!
Rio (Off-screen): And you don't have to.
Blu and Jewel turn to see Rio back, and they rush towards him.
Rio (On-screen): You okay, princess?
Queen Jewel: Rio!
(Rio hugs Jewel)
Rio hugs his daughter-in-law and he watches Blu give a rousing speech about how he knows humans as much as Eduardo knows the jungle. A crippled blue spix macaw yells "I'm with you!" and falls off the tree.
Rio: O... kay. Anyone else agree with my son?
When the blue spix macaws are lined up on the trees, Eduardo puts his trust in Blu, and Blu announces his royal oath, "Birds of blue feathers...". Rio and the other birds continue the rest of the oath, "have to stick together!", and they fly into battle. Eduardo is hit with a claw crane, and Linda shows up using a bulldozer to block the crane.
Linda: Pick on someone your own size!
Rio: (Shouting to Eduardo) See? What did I tell ya? Linda is a good person!
Tulio picks up Eduardo and throws him into the air, allowing Eduardo to fly away. Eduardo and Blu watch Linda dance victoriously, and he owes Blu an apology. He even forgives him to boot, only for Blu to tell him to hold off on that until after the war, which Eduardo respects. After the humans retreat, Blu sees dynamite tied to the trees and flies past Big Boss to remove them. Nigel tackles Big Boss, allowing him to get eaten by a snake, and Nigel chases after the king. Blu throws the dynamite into the air and Nigel and takes Blu with him as the TNT explodes. Nigel and Blu wake up, and Nigel attacks Blu's face with his wings, which actually tickles him.
Nigel: A flurry of furious feathers in your face!
King Blu: Hey, you don't have to do this!
Nigel: No, I just want to!
King Blu: Ow! Ow! Ow!
Rio pauses the movie and springs up laughing.
Rio: Okay, obviously, that should've been me. But I'll admit, (Laughing) that's pretty funny!
Rio (Laughing hysterically): That's a pretty funny fight between them!
Rio jumps down and continues the movie. After Nigel is hit with the quill with Gabi's poison on it, Rio shows up surprised that Nigel died and thanks his son.
Rio: Wow. I'd say Nigel is down and out! Good work, son.
King Blu: Um, that wasn't me though, dad.
Gabi screams "No!" in horror and tries kill herself with her own poison, only for her and Nigel to learn that Gabi isn't toxic, allowing her to actually touch Nigel and kiss him. After she drags him off, King Blu appears on the news with Linda. Tulio even has Nigel and Gabi caged, announcing that he'll take them back to Rio for a continuing observation.
The movie ends with the Amazon Untamed show, with Rio and the others singing the "Afro Circus" version of "I Like To Move it Move it" (from another DreamWorks Animation movie, "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted"), but combined with Will.I.am's version, and without any mentions of "Afro Circus". Rio raps out how to spell "Rio", which (like in the last movie) reveals the title before the list of voice talents are shown for the remainder of the song. At the end of the first set of credits, right when Rio is about to finish his theme song with his "3... 2... 1!", Pedro and Nico appear next to Rio on cue with the last note of the music when Rio says "1!". A few seconds later, Claira the Capybara appears saying "Hi, my name is Claira the Capybara, and that's the end!". She exits with Pedro asking "That's the end?" in confusion.
Nico takes his cap off and he and Pedro fly up out of the shot, leaving Rio behind as he says, "We're just getting started." while the leaves open. Now Rio can be heard singing "More" by Usher, but with Usher singing just the hook and backing vocals. After Rio's cover/collab with Usher on "More", the credits play "Rio Rio" by Ester Dean ft. B.O.B. and Rio and Blu's cover of "Alex on the Spot" (from "Madagascar 2: Escape Africa") from the last movie.
At the end of the credits, Rio congratulates the audience and gives them a reward while saying goodbye.
Rio: (Jumps up from the bottom of the screen) You're still here? I'm impressed. You must've been dancing to those songs in the credits. As a reward, here's a deleted scene we wished was in the movie. For me, I gotta get back to the Fox Studio to talk about my third movie. Enjoy.
(Walks out of the scene to the left, with his wing holding the remote extended as he clicks the remote and slides it out of the way.)
The reward is this deleted scene from "Rio 2", which plays before the closing text, "The making and authorized distribution of this film supported over 12,000 jobs and involved over one million work hours.", followed by the closing 20th Century Fox logo, the closing Blue Sky Studios logo with Scrat holding onto the "B" in "Blue", and the closing DreamWorks Animation logo.

Rio's appearance in "Rio"
After the theatrical short film, "Scrat's Continental Crackup: Part 1", the movie starts with the title revealed. The birds vocalize and perform percussion until they land on the branches. Rio makes his cinematic debut after a few seconds of silence. Rio sings the first part of "I Like to Move it Move it" without any sound, and the birds shout "MOVE IT!", cuing the opening song. And we see how popular Rio is among the rainforest. He even dances with his son as a chick. Towards the end of the song, Young Blu tries to fly, only to fall onto the ground after being bumped by the birds trying to escape from the humans. Blu is taken away, and Rio takes it upon himself to find his son and his remaining subjects.
With the attention now focused on Blu, Linda found him when she was just a kid, and we got to see their lives growing up, with Rio adoring his son's time with Linda in the background. After we see Blu and Linda grown up in the library she works at, Rio comments on how even when you're a prince, there's always someone to put you down, as we observe Blu heckled by Alice and Chloe outside.
When Tulio arrives, Rio pauses the movie and shows the audience a backstory for how he and Rio met. Rio saw a newspaper with the headline, "Blue spix macaws endangered", then saw the vet's shadow. While Rio's family made a rule that meeting humans is forbidden, he went with his gut to go with Tulio to his office. And after getting to know Rio for a bit, Tulio put an anklet around Rio's leg and set him free, promising how he'll help him save the blue spix macaws.
Back at in the rainforest, the king shows everyone his anklet and explains that the human he met swore his loyalty to rescue his species. Then he asks for one female blue spix macaw to live with him as his princess and marry his son if they ever find him. Rio pauses the movie and appears on-screen again, and switches back to the present where Tulio enters the library to tell Linda about Blu and how he and Rio found Blu a suitor to marry and save the blue spix macaws.
That night after Blu's failed attempt to fly, Linda comes downstairs and makes her decision to bring Blu to Rio and have him reunite with the king, which is what they do in the next scene. After landing in Brazil on an airplane, Blu meets Nico and Perdo, who happen to know Rio. They show Blu their VIP passes signed by the king himself, signed in dark blue sharpie.
In Tulio's office, the doctor pushes Blu into the habitat area and turns on a soundboard he built himself after first meeting Rio, given his stage appearance and rising popularity on Twitter. Tulio speaks into the mic, "And here he comes now. Cue the music!" and presses a button that plays a drumroll sound effect, much to Blu's confusion. On cue, Tulio announces, "Presenting… King Rio." and presses a button that turns on a spotlight on cue with the cymbal crash sound. The spotlight reveals Rio himself, and Blu is nervous.
Blu: Uh… h-hello, sir. Um… a-a-are you the king I've been hearing about?
King Rio: Why, yes! And you must be the prince I've been hearing about! It is I, Rio Jr. Your father! I mean… (Covering his beak, trying to imitate Darth Vader)
King Rio (Darth Vader attempt): Your father.
King Rio (Normal voice): (Opens his wings for a hug) Welcome home, prodigal son!
(Blu, after nearly three seconds of silence, runs back to the closed door and bangs on it while frightened by the fact that he just found out his father is King Rio.)
Blu (Scared) (While banging): Help! Help! Let me out of here!
King Rio: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! Wait a minute. We just met. And you're running away from your father?
Blu: Time out! Let me get this straight, you're my father? (Strokes his wing up his head and gets rid of his hairdo) Because I can't be your son if that's what you're wondering.
King Rio: Of course you are! We've got the same colored feathers. (Observes Blu's wing, which resembles his at Blu's age.) So grown up. (Rio looks down at Blu's talons) And those talons! You must've found someone who gives a good pedicure.
Blu (Petrified): A little personal space please.
King Rio: No problem, Rio Jr.
Blu (Petrified): And another thing. It's not Rio Jr., not even Rio. It's Blu.
King Rio: "Blue"? Where have I heard that name before? (Suddenly remembers) Oh yes! Blu-Ray. Bluetooth. Blue Cross Blue Shield. "Blue's Clues".
(Blu gets confused)
It's an old TV show, you probably wouldn't remember it. Wrong studio. And don't even get me started on the Blue Men Group or "The Blues Brothers". You wouldn't know those either. So how could you be afraid of having a dad who is a king, who is willing to give his crown to his son?
Blu: Um… No. I'm more terrified of the "girl" I'm suppose to be marrying.
King Rio: Oh, the princess! Of course.
Blu: Princess?
King Rio: Yes, Blu. It's customary for a prince and princess to get married. And when you do get married, I take my crown off, pass it to you, and you become king.
Blu freaks out again and calls for Linda, but Rio introduces his son to Jewel, his betrothed. Rio introduces Jewel to his son, and she attempts her escape, as the deal was that if Jewel agreed to marry Blu, he'll help her find her lost family. That night, as Blu tries to tell Jewel that not all humans are bad, Rio, Blu, and Jewel end up birdnapped, with Rio losing his crown after a human kicked him to a wall. The police chief shows Linda and Tulio Rio's lost crown recovered from the scene of the crime.
Tulio: (Looks at the crown and realizes someone kidnapped the king) Rio! Oh no. What's happened to the king?
We cut over to Rio in the cage as he indirectly responds to Tulio's question.
King Rio (Bald): I'm being bird-napped! That's what's happening! (Looks at his reflection) And worst of all, my bald spot it showing!
King Rio (Bald) (Saddened): My poor crown. Separated from my head. I feel so naked without it.
(Jewel tears the hole in the tarp further sees something from a hole.)
Jewel, what do you see?
Blu (While closing his eyes): Okay. Okay. There's no place like home. There's no place like home. Oh, how I wish I was back in my own cage, with my mirror and my swing and my little bell. Oh, how I miss my little bell.
King Rio (Bald): Hey, you know you gotta wear ruby slippers in order to say "There's no place like home". You got to click your heels three times and then say…
Jewel (Whispering): Shh! Play dead. (Drops to the floor and plays dead)
King Rio (Bald) (Whispering): I don't understand why I gotta do this. This wasn't in my contract. (Assumes his position)
Blu: What? I don't need to play dead. I'm about to have a heart attack!
Jewel (Whispering): Just do it!
Blu: (Sighs) Fine. (Acts like he's dying in an exaggerated fashion by moaning and fake-vomiting then falls flat on his back.)
King Rio (Bald) (Whispering): Come on, Melodrama! Get it together!
Jewel (Whispering): Stop twitching.
Blu: Oh, come on. It's the twitching that sells it.
King Rio (Bald) (Whispering): Shut it!
Jewel (Whispering): Shh.
When we learn that Fernando was the one carrying the cage into Marcel and Armando's place, Rio and Jewel fly out of the cage only for Nigel to grab Jewel by the throat until Marcel calls for him. Jewel and Blu end up being chained together, with Rio being the only one hiding in the shadows.
King Rio (Bald): This is awful. I hate to think about what's coming up next. Well, looks like it's King Rio to the rescue. (Sneaks past Marcel and his henchmen in the shadows) I've gotta be like Solid Snake.
Rio hides in a box, and like Solid Snake (as he just described), Rio snuck into the room filled with his missing royal subjects, along with his son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law. He approaches the cage and tries opening it with his talons.
King Rio (Bald): Okay, Rio. You can do this. Just pull it together, and try not to panic. The key is to not panic.
Jewel: I'm not panicking!
Blu: He wasn't talking to you, he was talking to himself! But it's okay, because any minute now, Linda will find us.
King Rio (Bald): (Flies up to the cage and tries picking the lock) So me about this "Linda" you speak of. What's she like, son?
Blu: Well, she's a very nice lady. I think you would like her.
Jewel: Oh, great. And then she'll stick us behind another set of bars, right?
Blu: Yeah. Uh, I mean, no.
Jewel: Look, pet, cages might work for you, but I don't want to belong to anyone.
King Rio (Bald): (Stops picking the lock) Not even me?
Jewel: No! But unlike this bozo, (Blu drops his eyebrows) you're understanding.
King Rio (Bald): Thank you.
Jewel: Besides, you made a deal with me to find my family, remember?
King Rio (Bald): I did. But only under the condition of marrying this bozo. You'll still get you're reward.
Blu: What does he mean?
Before Rio can explain any further, Nigel shows up and sings the uncut version of his theme song, "Pretty Bird". After he leaves, Jewel breaks her and Blu out of their cage with Rio following after them. Rio pulls a Superman by stealing some clothing hanging and wearing something like say, a shirt or a towel wrapped around Rio's neck and announcing "Super Blue, away!" before taking off.
Jewel: (To Blu) I hate you.
(Blu and Jewel fall off the wall and scream until they land in boxes with peanuts)
King Rio (Bald) (Superhero costume) (While flying): ♪Tra-la-la-la-LA!...♪
(King Rio grunts after crashing into the same wall and slides off)
Jewel (Mad): (To Blu) Is there anything else I need to know?
Blu: Yes, look out!
(Jewel gasps and she and Blu run away from Rio falling and landing into one of the same boxes full of peanuts)
Jewel: Your highness!
Rio regains consciousness and Blu comes up with a plan to just run through the streets instead of flying, which Rio agrees to, by saying "serpentine" while Blu and Jewel say "Left leg, right leg". Eventually, while crashing through a few houses, Nigel chases after the three, until he crashes into a power box. causing a widespread power outage.
(Movie pauses and Rio pops up from the bottom of the screen)
King Rio (Bald): Phew! Lost 'em! I'm on fire!
(A fire crackling sound plays and Rio sees his tail feathers on fire)
Uh-oh. Now I'm really on fire.
(Rio runs around screaming)
I'M ON FIRE! I'M ON FIRE! I'M ON FIRE!
(An off-screen crew member throws water on him, drenching Rio in water and the screen fades to black.)
Later, after seeing a glimpse of Nigel sparking, Rio pauses the movie and calls out to him, until Rio exits left and continues the rest of the film. Jewel enters the jungle, surprised to see Rio, albeit burned, with Rio explaining that he's covered in 3rd degree burns. Blu even bumps into his wounds and one point, making him scream in pain. After traveling the jungle, they find a hut, and Rio flies up while Blu climbs up with Jewel behind him.
The next morning, Blu and Jewel attempt to drop a boulder onto the chain to break it, and when Blu shows Jewel his drawn blueprint, Rio criticizes him.
King Rio (Bald): Uh, fellas? I don't think this is such a good idea.
Jewel (While pulling the vine with her beak): Yeah. Are you sure this is gonna work?
Blu (While pulling the vine with his beak): Positive. Check out my math.
(Screen cuts to Blu's drawing in the dirt)
King Rio (Bald): That's just a bunch of scribbles. (Approaches the drawing) Something's missing though. (Gets an idea) Ah!
(Rio uses his talon to draw something off screen)
There!
(Screen cuts back to Blu's drawing in the dirt, this time with Rio's drawing of an acorn next to Blu's drawing.)
King Rio (Bald) (Off-screen): An acorn.
Jewel (While pulling the vine with her beak): (To RIo) Yeah. That's, uh... comforting, thank you.
King Rio (Bald): Hey, don't blame me for cramping your style.
Rio dodges the boulder as it was about to crush him, then he, Blu, and Jewel are tortured to death by Rafael's kids until he pops out of the tree.
Rafael: What's going on down there?
King Rio (Bald) (While being tortured): RAFAEL, HELP US!!!
Rafael jumps down and shoos his kids away, and we learn that Rio is in good relations with Rafael. When he asks the king if he's supposed to be in Carnival, he explains the matchmaking situation he's in, and Rio tells Rafael's wife that under the king's orders, Rafael will come back. Rio and Rafael help Blu learn that flying isn't in his head, but in his heart. Blu and Jewel jump off the cliff, only to land on a hang glider, then fall into a beach ball, and crash into the sand from the beach. Then they all get into a truck full of melons until they jump out and meet Nico and Pedro, who bow before Rio, even though he's not wearing his crown.
Nico and Pedro take them into this underground club of sorts, and Nico and Pedro assist Rio onto the stage, with Nico announcing King Rio's return. And on stage, Rio, Nico, and Pedro sing "Hot Wings", with a bit of Rio's "I Like To Move it Movie it" integrated by the end of the song after Jewel's solo. From this, Blu starts to have memories of him as a chick when he was dancing with his singing dad.
The lemurs crash the party, and Rio orders "By order of the king, I ask you to scram!". Jewel and Blu vouch for Rio and spit at Mauro.
Jewel: Yeah! In your little monkey dreams! (Spits at the floor)
Blu: Yeah, what the king said. (Doesn't spit properly and sucks his saliva back in) That was meant for you.
King Rio (Bald): Yeah.
Blu: By order of my dad, I ask you to scram!
King Rio (Whispering to the screen in eagerness): By George, I think he's got it!
After a few seconds of staring from both sides, Pedro tells Rio, "Birds vs. Monkeys!", and Rio responds, "Right! On my signal." as we see the birds line up for war. Rio shouts "Let's dance!" and the birds and lemurs fight each other. After the birds win the war, they land on the roof of a railway and praise each other, with Blu admitting Rio really is his dad.
Blu: Man, we threw down!
Jewel: Yeah, we threw down.
King Rio (Bald): Yeah. I got to admit, son, I had my doubts about you.
(Everyone stares at Rio confused)
Actually, no, that's not right. Never doubted you for a second, sonny boy.
Blu: Yeah, you were great too, dad.
King Rio (Bald): (Gasps) You called me "dad". (Shouts happily) I knew it! I knew you were my son!
Rafael: You all were like fire and ice.
Nico: Thunder and lightning!
Pedro: Hip and hop!
Blu: Cheese and sprinkles!
(Everyone stares at Blu confused)
King Rio (Bald): I believe the term you're searching for is "cheese and crackers".
Blu: It's a Minnesota thing.
That evening after Rio narrates how Blu admitted he's his dad and how Jewel loosened the reins, Nico sings an uncut version of "Fly Love", with Rio and Rafael helping Blu show Jewel his affections. They make it to the garage where Blu and Jewel get jumped on by Luiz, and Rio stops the bulldog, who also knows King Rio and pauses for a moment of respect. After asking the king about what happened to his crown, he takes Blu and Jewel to a chainsaw, which Rio is actually afraid of.
Rafael: Don't worry! He's a professional!
King Rio: You heard him! (Does an Eartha Kitt impression) Pull the leva!
Rafael starts the chainsaw and Rio bawls melodramatically when it looks as though Blu's head was chopped off.
King Rio (Bald) (Crying dramatically): NO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO-HO! WHY!?!
(Rio suddenly breaks out of his sadness and laughs at the audience)
King Rio (Bald) (Happy): Gotcha! Didn't I? That's not what really happened, okay? Nothing to be scared of. This is what really happened.
Rio rewinds the scene back to Blu about to fly into the chainsaw, only for the feathers on his head being chopped off instead. Luiz catches the chain with his open mouth, and his saliva causes Blu and Jewel to slide their feet out of their anklets. After flying out the window with Jewel, Rafael, Pedro, and Nico, Rio flies down to Blu and asks his son if he's ready to be king, only for Blu to turn down his dad.
Blu (Mad): You want honesty? Fine! Fine, I can be honest. I don't belong here! In fact, I never wanted to come here in the first place! And... and... you know what? (Turns to Rio) If you really are my dad, you should just respect me for who I am! I'm not a king!
King Rio (Bald) (Shocked): What!? But, son, it's everything you've dreamed of. You are a king!
Blu (Mad): Not! You only cared about yourself! You forcing me to marry Jewel is everything you dreamed of! Have you ever thought about what I wanted for once? I'll never be like you, dad. Like I said, I don't know anything about being a king. I hate samba!
King Rio (Bald) (Shocked): WHA!?
(Nico bursts into tears and cries on Pedro while hugging him)
Pedro (Offended): Hey! That's a little too far.
Nico (Crying): Make the mean bird take it back.
Blu (Mad): Yeah, I said it! Every song sounds exactly the same! "Tico, taco, ya, ya, ya! Tico, taco, ya, ya, ya!" (Groans and turns away from the camera) I'm tico, taco, out of here.
King Rio (Bald) (Shocked): But, y-y-y-you... you like... pop music, don't you? Or jazz? Rock? Hip-hop? Disco?
(Blu stops dead in his tracks after hearing that. Rio approaches him and dances around Blu.)
King Rio (Bald) (While dancing): Remember how we used to dance and sing together when you were a little chick?
Blu (Mad, lost it): STOP BRINGING MY PAST UP! We never danced, okay? You were never there for me growing up!
King Rio (Bald): Because I lost you! And now that you're home, I swear never to lose you again.
Blu (Mad): Well, you can just go on without me. You're not my dad, and I'm not a king!
(After a few seconds of silence, Jewel, seeing Rio now hurt, retorts back to Blu.)
Jewel (Mad): Fine! See you around, pet! (Flies off)
King Rio (Bald) (Mad): And God forbid you have any sons and daughters! (Flies off)
Rafael: No, wait, wait! (Calls up to the sky) Come back! You were made for each other! You are Juliet to his Romeo! Sure, they both die in the end, but you get my point!
(Nico and Pedro fly into the shot from the right and land)
Ah, young love. Always so melodramatic!
King Rio (Bald) (Angrily shouting): Hey, I can still hear you!
Rafael: Then why are you still here? Go to him! He's your son!
(Screen cuts to Rio and Jewel floating in the sky)
King Rio (Bald) (While flying): (Angrily yells down) Not anymore! (Turns to Jewel and sadly sighs) Jewel... I'm sorry for everything I put you through. I'll let you go.
Jewel (Sad) (While flying): But, Rio. You promised I had to...
King Rio (Bald) (Sad) (While flying): Yes. I know. But it was all for nothing. You're no longer my princess. If you know where to find me, I'll be in Carnival. Good luck, Jewel. I hope you find your family.
Rafael: Come on, boys. Go after her.
(Nico and Pedro fly up out of the shot)
Rafael: Rio! Rio, are you gonna come?
King Rio (Bald) (Mad) (While flying): Forget it! I'm going to Carnival! By myself. With or without my crown.
Rafael: Rio! Blu! Come back here! Come on!
After Rio flies off, with Jewel now all by herself. Meanwhile, back at home, the remaining birds throw a "Welcome Home" Party for Rio, only for Rio to angrily call the event off after being bombarded with questions. Rio explains what happened between him and his son, but Rio still goes to Carnival, even without his crown. As Jewel flies away in tears, Nigel kidnaps the princess and takes her to Carnival. As Rafael catches up to Blu, Nico and Pedro warn Blu that Nigel kidnapped Jewel. Blu realizes that his dad is in Carnival too, and regrets being a jerk about not accepting his position as the next king of Rio. So, the boys rally together to Carnival where they find Jewel in a cage by Nigel. The boys run through the parade floats, and Rio hears Linda calling for Blu, making the king break out of his depression and call out for his son. The chief, who was watching the show for King Rio, sees him calling out. He gets the king's attention and yells "Hey, your majesty, catch!". He throws the crown to Rio and he puts it back on his head.
King Rio (Bald): My crown!
(Rio drops his face out of the shot and rises after putting his crown back on)
King Rio: Alright! (Runs to the edge of his float and takes off while calling for his son) Blu! I'm coming, Blu! (Turns back to the performers) Everyone! Continue the celebration without me! Blu! Blu!
Rio reunites with Blu, who calls him "dad" again, and announces Blu is his son. Blu apologizes to Rio for being selfish and not accepting responsibility. He takes back everything he said and is ready to be king. Rio responds "That's my boy!" and looks up to Nico, Pedro, and Rafael, who found where Jewel is. Rio is about to pass the crown to his son, only for Blu to cut him off and tell him to crown him later after they rescue Jewel. When Blu finds her, he and the others end up getting caged by Nigel. Rio tells Luiz to keep doing his thing, and he flies after the truck to the airport. After Fernando escapes, Rio seeing him running gave him the key to finding his son and his subjects.
With all his might, Rio saw the door opening as he yelled to his subjects, "Finally! My servants! Don't worry, everyone! Your king is coming!". The birds fly free after the door opens and Rio comments "That's my boy." as he flies closer to his son. He lands while saying "Come to papa!", but before Blu and Jewel can say anything, Nigel chokes Blu with his leg and threw Jewel off of him, resulting in a cage falling on Jewel and hurting her wing, preventing her from flying. Rio sees Blu in horror and gets angry at Nigel.
King Rio (Mad): Nobody hurts my boy!
(Rio passes Blu the fire hydrant with his talon. Blu catches the string and attaches it to Nigel's leg)
Nigel: Huh?
Blu (While choking): Not cool, man. Not cool!
King Rio (Mad): Nigel, for assaulting the princess, and attempting to hurt my son, I sentence you to exile! Take it away. son!
With that pun, Blu removes the pin and the fire hydrant sends Nigel flying out of the plane where he gets caught in a jet propeller. Rio cringes and remarks "That's gonna leave a mark.". Jewel falls off the plane screaming, and Rio tells his Blu, "Come on, son! Believe in himself! Spread those wings and fly! Like me!". Rio and Blu fall after Jewel, and Blu catches Jewel. And just like his dad said, Blu opened his wings and flew for the first time. After landing Rio asks Blu if he's ready to be king one last time, only a choice to go back to Moose Lake, or for Blu to say that he has to say goodbye to Linda first. Rio lets his son take his time while watching him in the background. After Blu says goodbye to Linda, Blu introduces his dad to Linda, and he does the Blu and Linda handshake. She bows to Rio and bids him adieu as everyone watches the birds fly away.
After the subtitle, "THE END" fades in, Rio pauses the movie to remind the audience to stay in their seats for Blu and Jewel's coronation ceremony. The trumpets are blown to the first 13 seconds of the score, "Throne Room" from "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope". When the music ends, Rio makes his announcement.
King Rio: Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I step down from the throne to bequeath my crown, to my son, Blu. Your new (Puts his crown on Blu's head) King Rio. And, Queen Jewel Rio (Rio's wife puts her tiara on Jewel's head). Nico, Pedro, step forward and kneel.
(Nico takes off his cap and kneels forward with Pedro)
I hereby dub thee, King Rio II's [the second's]… royal DJs.
Pedro: Now you're talking!
(The birds applaud, until Rio raises his wing.)
King Rio: But first. Do you, Rio Jr… I mean Blu, wish to take Jewel to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer, 'til death do you part?
Blu: I do.
King Rio: And do you, Jewel wish to take my son to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer, 'til death do you part?
Jewel: I do.
King Rio: Then, by the power vested in me, in all of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and of course, on behalf of the executives at 20th Century Fox, I now pronounce you two king and queen. You may now kiss.
(Blu and Jewel kiss and the kingdom applauds)
Now it's the end of the movie!
As the birds cheer, the subtitle "THE END" appears once more. A few few seconds later, the word "(Finally!)" appears underneath as Will.I.am's version of "I Like To Move it Move it" starts playing. Rio starts by saying "All birds all over the world! Original, King Rio, pon ya case, man! I love how all the birds would love to move their bodies. When you move your bodies, you're gonna move 'em nice, and sweet, and sexy! Alright?" and he, Blu, and Jewel sing the first part of the song, with Pedro (with Will.I.am's archival recordings reused from the DreamWorks movie, "Madagascar 2: Escape Africa") Nico, and Rafael joining in.
As far as the mid-credits ending, I'm currently debating on whether or not to keep it as it was in the original, or just integrate it into the song just in case I wanted to incorporate bloopers during the end credits. Either way though, at the end of the song, when Rio says "Of course you do." to Luiz and says "3... 2...", the title appears one last time as Rio says "1!" off-screen, followed by Rio commenting, "Oh, goody. My name's on there again.".
The songs that play during the credits include "Telling the World" by Taio Cruz, "Take You To Rio" by Ester Dean, and a cover of "Alex on the Spot" (Also taken from "Madagascar 2: Escape Africa", just retitled "Blu on the Spot") performed by Rio and Blu. At the end of the credits, a post-credits scene shows Rio saying goodbye to audience in a black background.
Rio: (Jumps up from the bottom of the screen) Hey guys. Thanks for watching my movie. That's right, my movie. "Rio". Time to go home now. I'll be waiting for the sequel, if one ever happens of course.
The movie ends with Rio flying away and the closing 20th Century Fox logo appears along with the Blue Sky Studios logo in the black background, reused from the opening of the movie. Rio walks past the Blue Sky Studios logo commenting, "They should've called it "King Rio Productions", or at least take out the "E" in "Blue"." as he walks (or flies) across the screen from right to left.
THE END

I previously briefly talked about Rio's personality. So, continuing from my last post, here's two versions of my character's personality inspirations. The only difference between them being Rio's appearance with and without his crown.
Like King Julien from the "Madagascar" franchise, Rio sings "I Like to Move It Movie It" in both "Rio" movies. If "Rio 3" happens, I'll try to find a way to fit it in, unless it doesn't get featured in the proposed third movie.
Like Emperor Kuzco from "The Emperor's New Groove" franchise, Rio narrates his own stories as a voice-over. But he will occasionally pause the movie sometimes and show up to either explain things in further detail, or just poke fun at some of the characters or even the setups.
Like Deadpool, Rio's fourth wall-breaking is used in-film and during the times when he pauses the movie. He even points out the obvious on how the whole thing is a movie, or even mentioning the audience from time to time. He'll also mention stuff that Fox owns like "X-Men" and "Ice Age". There's even a logo joke I thought of for either "Rio 2" or "Rio 3" where after Scrat falls off the Blue Sky Studios logo, Rio will sit on the "e" in "Blue", which breaks off, due to Rio's weight. Thus, the logo would now read "Blu Sky Studios" before fading to black.
Like Mufasa, I thought my character could have some similar papa wolf kinds of features. Even going as far as banishing Nigel for attempting to murder Blu, which should be punishable for attempting to murder royalty. But he isn't without his loving qualities, as well as the attention he gets from the birds and humans. Not only is he beloved and respected, but he's also a fair monarch who knows what's best for his subjects, including his son, and his family. He will occasionally give good advice if he needs to, like any father or parent would for their son(s)/daughter(s).
I guess he's also got some of that flair that screams "game show host", to some degree. He also acts as if he were an animated movie star, like how in some movies, like "A Bug's Life", "Toy Story 2", "Monsters Inc.", and even "Mr. Peabody and Sherman", they show outtakes during the end credits, which depict some animated characters like they were actors from a live action film (Click here to learn more about where I'm coming from with this). I don't know if I should do fan outtakes for "Rio" and "Rio 2", but I don't think it's a bad idea, if I could find what I think would work best (ex. After Blu's drawing in the dirt, Rio would draw an acorn in the final film. But for the outtakes, he would draw different things like Wonderbot ("Robots") and maybe a sloth that almost looks like Sid ("Ice Age") before drawing an acorn.).

With today being the 10th anniversary of "Rio 2", here's my OC, Rio. He is my first OC to serve as the titular character. I made him sometime in early 2011 (one of my favorite years in my life, in fact), before the first "Rio" movie was released in 2011. Now, as far as his character design, I had to use 2D outlines of Blu, since Rio is supposed to be depicted as Blu's dad, making his son the next King Rio of Rio De Janeiro. I also had to look up clip art for the Brazilian crown for my character's headwear, which he later passes down to his son after Blu and Jewel's wedding and coronation ceremony.
In order to tell the difference between my character and Blu, I decided not to give Rio brown eyes. Instead, his eyes would be green. But it's possible Blu got his brown eyes from his mother, Queen Rio, depending on how she should be designed. Down below is my character's bio.
NAME
Rio
FRANCHISE
(Do I even have to say it?)
BIO
Rio is a blue spix macaw who happens to be the king of Rio. His son, Blu was born as the last of his kind. Even after losing his son, he hand-picked Jewel to live with him until they find his lost son. And after his son came back, he was able to help his son and Jewel get married.
PERSONALITY
Rio is eccentric, but well-meaning. Rio loves to sing and dance to popular licensed music, and is in fact a popular web sensation. He also has a tendency to break the fourth wall every now and then.
INSPIRATIONS
Complimenting how "Rio" and "Rio 2" used "I Like to Move It Move It", which was previously used in the "Madagascar" films by DreamWorks Animation (which ironically they would later be involved in developing "Rio 2" as part of their limited contract with 20th Century Fox), "I Like to Move It Move It" is Rio's theme song like it is for King Julien from the "Madagascar" movies.
For Rio's fourth wall abilities, I based them off of how Kuzco pauses his movies and occasionally draws on the screen with a red dry erase marker. Only, Rio doesn't draw, as instead he has a remote on him. But like Kuzco, Rio will narrate his stories off-screen and on-screen, and will poke fun at some of the characters.
Of course, this was all before I even saw the first film on opening night in 3D. As from the beginning, I depicted him as just Blu's father. Eventually, I evolved him into the character I currently have now.
OTHER APPEARANCES
Next to his own movies, I thought about giving him an appearance in "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-it Ralph 2", as at the time, Disney was in talks to purchase 20th Century Fox, which they eventually did in early 2019. Because of this, I've made a few other OCs from different Disney/Pixar films, which I can talk about if you're interested.
But in the meantime, you can click here to learn more about my OC.

Last night, while I was re-visiting the "Loud House" episode, "Room With a Feud", I noticed during Lisa's explanation to Lincoln (while she's in her scientist outfit of course), her open hand has no line for the palm of her glove. So it took me a while to draw it right. It also took me a while to find a good picture of Lisa to take a screenshot of with my computer. Once again, I used one of my hand outlines based on the show's.

"What do you do if Stan and Heff kidnapped you?"
They do more than just steal honey, you know. As demonstrated in "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" episode, "A Bird in Hand", they kidnap Kessie, Rabbit, Piglet, Pooh, and Tigger.

Continuing from my last post, here's my other casting choice for who I would pick as the new voice for Heff Heffalump. I was thinking Dee Bradley Baker could also work. All he'd really have to do is use his Rhino voice from the 2000 "Spider-Man" video game. I don't know if it sounds exactly like how the late Chuck McCain voiced Heff, but I think it's pretty close.
