I know we joke about Kit and Jade’s romance being really obvious to literally everybody but I am just. looking at this gif and it’s hitting me all over again. Kit’s hands on Jade’s shoulders, the way they’re moving, how she’s looking at her - that is the gayest look I’ve ever seen. There is literally no way that anyone in that room, in that building, that entire kingdom who doesn’t know. Who doesn’t know and gossip endlessly about the wild hearted princess who has a thing for her knight or about the young knight, so dashing, you know she’s going to be the best knight in the kingdom one day, who’s so smitten with the princess that it’s not even funny. And with Kit looking at Jade like that and literally saying “yeah it doesn’t matter if I get married to some other guy we’ll still ride and train and -” in a public space on the night she’s meeting her betrothed you know the gossips in that room are nodding to themselves and going “yep called it they’re just gonna carry on and have an affair”. No one in this whole kingdom would believe you if you told them they haven’t even told each other yet. Haven’t even kissed yet. They’d think you’re mad like just look how they’re looking at each other

Tbh I think fandom generally needs to get better at sitting with the uncomfortable fact that a story/fanwork/meme/whatever can hurt one person and help another

Kit wishes that she was wearing long sleeves as she sits anxiously at her father’s kitchen table because at least she’d have something easy to fidget with. Instead, she’s forced to play with the skin around her nails. Nails still painted dark green to match her outfit from the night before.

Was the Princess Taramis premiere really only last night?

“So, kiddo, can’t deny I’m a little surprised to see you here,” Kit’s dad says as he places two steaming cups of coffee on the table and sits across from her.

Kit has more caffeine in the past eight hours than any self-respecting twenty-five-year-old should. But Kit’s not sure how much self-respect she really has anyway. So, she grabs at the mug greedily.

Summary:

For as long as they’ve shared a dream of making great music, Kit always figured it would just be Jade-and-Kit, best friends for life, a package deal. When their manager Thraxus “Relaxus” Boorman politely suggests (demands) that they add some new talent to their band, suddenly that dream includes Graydon Hastur and Muffin Girl Elora Danan.

After their lesbian cover of “You Belong With Me” goes viral, it feels like the whole world is invested in Kit and Jade’s personal lives, identities, and the definitely-fictional romance between them (and between the rest of the band, too). And despite the near-constant scrutiny and endless fan theorizing, it feels like no one sees what’s really going on with Kit anymore. 

Not even Jade.

Or: the band AU that turned into a multimedia behemoth inspired by 2014 band mega-fandoms, Kristen Stewart groupies, the notion of Kit in leather pants, and the question, “How can we make this whole situation even worse for Kit Tanthalos?”

Or: what happened after someone jokingly said “Kit and the Situations would be an iconic band name”.

The term “masterpiece” originally and traditionally meant a piece of work that an apprentice or other aspiring craftsman created to show off to his master or the town’s guild. So naturally, it was intended to be the best fucking thing that you could make, demonstrating just how fucking good you are at what you’re making - 100% to flex your skills. And if it was approved, the applicant was accepted as a member of the guild and could now call himself a master, and work in this craft in this city.

So the next time you’re looking at The One Great Thing you made and think “this is it, my masterpiece, I have peaked, it’s all downhill from here”, consider looking it the other way: Making your masterpiece means you’re only getting started.

Why fic no climb out of my head and lie down in paper? Why must I write fic? ☹

If I go into one more restaurant and see a qr code menu I'm gonna puke like sorry but nope! No! That's not easier! Menus are already reusuable just give me one! Easy five second interaction. What if my phone is bad at qr codes? What if I'm on a low battery? Paper, paper, paper. A hard copy. Physical objects lets get this bread. Ordering through the app when you're sitting at the restaurant is even worse!!! The boomers are right about this one.

#i think about this especially with things like royalty and war #cause obviously fuck monarchy but it's still a fun story device #and again war is terrible and i don't wish it on anyone but that random character who i've decided to make suffer #purity culture grabs me around this aspect more then any other #why would you write a character being a corporate boss when you hate capitalism #and then i have to remind myself that it's not that deep #and there's little likeliness that a random ff will do anything #it helps to think of the kurt vonnegut quote about the vietnam war #as depressing as that statement is
