My thoughts on this TWD season so far...
There's been a lot of talk about how wrong it is to pair Rick with Jessie as they believe that he should be all up on Michonne. Which I agree with. I don't just have a ship for Richonne, I have an armada. However, I feel like I'm the only one who didn't see Rick's kiss on Jessie's cheek as a romantic thing. Not saying it couldn't be, but that's just not what I drew from it. In the comics, Rick beats the living shit out of her husband because her husband a dirty rotten woman basher. If I'm remembering correctly (which I might not be since I haven't read that issue in a while) Jessie wasn't too appreciative of it because she loves her husband. Now, even if I'm right, they could be doing as they have been and deviating from the comic. I see Richonne happening guys. I really do. And I know a lot of people are saying that the reason they're not together is a racially motivated thing, but my naivety might be what's making me believe that it isn't. I've never experienced racism firsthand and I've never been around racist people. At least not long enough to see the signs of prejudice.
But I have seen some lameass bitches saying that Michonne is not an attractive woman and I'm going to have to ask you NOT to utter that lie again or I'm going to have to hurt your feelings. Danai is gorgeous and Michonne rocks the hell out of those dreads. If you disagree, get out of my life.

The problem with beth is she has been around since season 2 where she overcame suicide and decided to believe in a hopless world. For some, that is major, that is big, especially for those who, just like her, overcame depression. She was quite literally, the symbol of hope. When they 'killed' off Beth, for many, they killed off the hope they had for the show. Beth was and is by far, the most relatable character which is why she is so loved (and hated). Sorry if this is long but I need to cont->
(continued)
Some people watch this show to see zombies get their heads cut off, others watch it for certain characters. But many watch this to see the group and how they face challenges ahead of them. Beth's death is (to many) almost an exact repeat of s4 when Hershel died. Some people feel it's getting a bit old, and they wanted more(happiness, joy, etc). For the most part, her death took alot of that away. Last notes: people signthat petiton for diff reasons. Also, I respect your opinion, but i just wanted to show you why Beth was important to people. Thanks if you read all this! (I am so sorry it took 3 anons)
_________________________________________________________
I totally get that, I do. As a person who struggled with self-harm and is currently dealing with depression and anxiety, I get it. Thanks for being respectful about it. We all have a favourite character. Mine are Daryl and Michonne. However, if either one of them died, I wouldn't beg the writers to make it a dream sequence. What's done is done. As far as there being happiness and joy, this is about the zombie apocalypse. People are showing their true nature and sometimes, it's not pretty. And death is a part of this. I don't know if you've read the comics, but as someone who has, I see Beth's death as necessary. But, hey, we all have a different view on things.

Come on guys...
People are still arguing over whether or not Beth's death should be a dream sequence.
I saw people talking about it today.
Tumblr media
I thought this issue had been dealt with a while ago.
It's been how long since the episode aired?
WHY IS THIS STILL A THING?
For those of you fortunate enough to not be in on this, we have two sides:
The Dreamers:
Tumblr media
And the Not-So-Optimistics:
Tumblr media
(Though, I did cry when Beth died. Let's be real. I also just wanted to use a gif of Benny dancing to Disney.)
Honestly, I thought we had settled this issue with civility by agreeing to disagree.
Making Beth's death nothing but a bad dream is possible.
(Jim did have that premonition before the walker attack in season one.)
However, I happen to be one of the Not-So-Optimistics.
BUT WHY?
That is a good question. An even better question: why should Beth receive this special treatment?
The word "hypocrite" has been tossed around as a description for people like me. They say that if DARYL had been the one to die, people like me would be raising hell and begging for it to be a dream sequence.
Tumblr media
(For me, at least.)
Let me go back to this being special treatment for Beth. Since people like to call other people hypocrites.
How many other characters got petitions with over 50K signatures?
Not Sophia.
Not T-Dog.
Not Lori.
Not Shane.
Not Andrea.
Not Hershel.
Not Dale.
Not Merle.
Not Milton.
Not Lizzie.
Not Mika.
Not Bob.
THAT is why I'm against it. Not because I'm jealous of the relationship between Beth and Daryl or Emily and Norman. And yes, that was offered up as the only possible reason anyone wouldn't want it to be a dream sequence.
Tumblr media
Not everyone focuses on ships when it comes to the actual plot of the show, guys. That's not always the motive behind a person's opinions of what's going on. I could say that the only people who want Beth back are fanatic Bethyl shippers, but I haven't and I won't because I know it isn't true.
Everyone has their reasons for their opinions. I know that a lot of people who role play Beth really want her back. This is understandable because when you play a character, on screen or just in RP, you become attached to that character. You become protective of them and sometimes even feel like you embody them. That's what makes a good actor or role player. I won't chastise you for wanting her back.
I think a dream sequence would be selling out. To me, it's irrational and not needed.
(Yes, I would feel the same way if it were Daryl.)
To others, Beth's death was irrational and not needed.
Tumblr media
Why can't we have these differences of opinion without getting pissy with each other?
There is no reason for name calling.
There is no reason for any hostility at all.
If you want to know why someone feels the way they do, just ask them. Don't make ridiculous assumptions.
This isn't to cause drama or single anyone out. I wanted people to understand why I don't think Beth should come back.
Just remember...
Tumblr media
If the people in the GoT fandom made it through the Red Wedding, you can make it through this.
THIS TOO SHALL PASS.

So are you a racist for not caring about Michael Jackson's death? How about the fact that Whitney Houston's death took over the news? You wanted to sound insightful. You care about the "real" issues so you decided to file the mourning of the death of a man under racism because he is white and the death you think everyone should care about happens to be a black man. Because people aren't talking about what you think they should be talking about, you're going to call them racist. Here is the real reason this is being talked about: HE WAS FAMOUS. Robin Williams was in the public eye for over FORTY YEARS. Of course people are going to talk about his suicide. You're an idiot for thinking this has anything to do with race.
Things Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Robin Williams had in common: fame. But you keep using that racism tag willy nilly.
Not one person in my workplace has mentioned the killing of Michael Brown
But you can bet your life they’ve been talking about Robin Williams all damn day

I love that this was tagged under racism because when Michael Jackson died, he took over the news. Everyone was talking about Michael Jackson. There was live coverage from a helicopter following his ambulance. But that was okay, right?

This shit pisses me off. A man's death is used as a fuel for the race issue fire. Someone actually thanked him for killing himself. People really show their true colours when something like this happens. Since the issue has been brought up, let me make a point: Michael Jackson was on EVERY NEWS OUTLET when he died. There was live coverage of his home and of the ambulance taking him to the hospital. People of every race and nationality were in the streets crying and falling to their knees. But, we mourn the loss of a man who spent his whole career making people smile while he was battling his own demons and it's just a white people thing? Is one race really being demonized for this? Can someone explain this to me? I'm sorry that I made a Facebook post about a man who made me smile for as long as I can remember. I'm sorry that his suicide took me by surprise. Is that what needs to be said? Do "white people" need to apologize for saying they're sad a man felt so alone even when he was so loved that he killed himself? This is shedding light on the issue of depression and suicide and you're against that? Okay.

"I don’t like playing as female protagonists in games because I can’t identify with them and it breaks immersion!"
yeah well if a bedroom-dwelling white uni girl like myself can get pretty deeply and emotionally immersed into the character of a black male convicted murderer in a zombie apocalypse then you being unable to play a character just because they have a vajayjay is pretty damn pathetic
