Bhatki, stop, thats so sweet 🥹. I really miss being here too. But unfortunately I am not really back yet. The break did start as me just processing the new season, but then life happened. And I never quite managed to learn how to compartmentalize do multiple things at once, lol. So I am focusing on life for now. But I promise I will be back soon. Our little community is big source of joy for me, I won't stay away too long.

The best thing about being back here has been seeing that everyone hates Marcus as much as I do. I was worried that people might have found him cute.

I find it so fascinating how vastly different the 4th wall breaks at the end of s1 and s2 are. The s1 ones convey this sense of entrapment, they tell us Wille is aware he's being watched. The last shot of his face in s1 almost makes you, the viewer, feel guilty for having witnessed his violation. We have seen him; we are complicit.

Now in the final scene of s2 he tells his own truth, on his own terms. He tells it to Simon, to Erik, to the world. And to us. He's deciding to tell us, not haunted by his ever present audience anymore like he was in the s1 4th wall breaks, he's ready to face us now. The ultimate meta commentary on how he is taking control over his own narrative.

Well this happened.

And then this happened.

This is going to hurt a little and I’m actually sorry this time because honestly, it hurt me too when I realized this. You know how we kinda have a wishlist going on for what we would like to see in Season 2? Little specific moments, phrases, etc.,

Well, I wanna throw something into the pot with some version of Wille asking, “What do you want, Simon?” Let me explain.

Wilhelm is very good with communication (except at the end when he didn’t warn Simon). But before that, he always let Simon know exactly what he wants. Whether it be good or bad. Take these for example.

Do you know what is the only time Simon uses the word 'want' in their entire relationship?

Yeah I know, that hurts. This is why I need Wille to sincerely ask Simon, “what do you want?” with utmost care and actually give him the space to answer that question.

And if the answer is “I want you,” well... then we can all perish together but at least we would have seen that and died happily.

Hej.

So. I am back. I think? Pretty sure I said I will be back as soon as the season is out. That clearly didn't happen. I did watch as soon as it premiered and then watched 6 times since then. I just needed time to process all of that because boy was that a lot.

So season 2 of Young Royals. Did I like it? Yes, very much so. Did I enjoy it? No, at least not the first time. It was a miserable experience. Did I love it anyway? Yes, a lot of it, most of it. But not all of it.

(The issues I have with it are small compared to all the things I loved in it. And I will keep what I didn't like to myself for now. I don't think it's the time talk about them yet.)

For now, I am excited to be back here. Share what made this season so beautiful and so so special, because there is a lot of it.

This is me officially going on my hiatus. (Not that i have been very active, i have been traveling). I am going to take on crazy feat of watching yr s2 without seeing the teaser or the trailer. Of course this means I have to delete my tumblr app, there is no other way.

I will be back on the release day. About 6hours after the premiere because I’ll watch it as soon as it is out. And I will be back here to cry and scream with y’all.
