I'm trying to edit my playthrough of BATDR, while watching other people play through it. I noticed there were a lot of pathing issues with some enemies that I didn't quite experience (except for one Keeper) and I guess I understand why they decided to not make the Ink Demon chase you this time. If you were going to emphasize his power as the supreme being of the cycle, it prolly wouldn't do to have him chase you around like a dog and have him snagged on some invisible hitbox he can't get out of.

On the other hand, I still think it takes away some of the terror of actually facing him in the open and being able to elude him somewhat with a high percent chance of getting noticed. Could there be a way they can implement this mechanic without diminishing the character's importance? Prolly, but not something I can think of at the moment.

I thought the guy just had a heart attack or something. But I guess rereading the letter it could be more sinister.

Yeah, there a note left behind by a Chef saying that, before an employee could leave and return home to Rio, the chef killed him and proceeds to use him corpse as a source of meat. Idk if this happened at the studio or the New York Gent Location that's connected to it through an underground tunnel tho.

There's also Ink Bendy eating a Lost One right in front of us, and some death screen text implies he does the same to Audrey at some points.

I like your version of it. I’ve read a lot of different takes.

Even though the two seem to have very different personalities, I honestly don’t consider them different entities. It doesn’t make sense that compressing him into a weaker form magically makes him a completely different being. But its still curious what his real intentions are, aiding Audrey as he is while simultaneously threatening her every chance he has.

Its not really clear also to what extent this ‘seal’ Wilson put on him is actually restraining his powers. We can say, up until the time Audrey accidentally uses her banishing power on him, that he was unable to regain his full power. But somehow even after encountering him as the Ink Demon, he still reappears as Bendy to...what. Help her? Trick her? If she wasn’t heading to Gent what was he going to do? We know that the Signal Towers can ‘force’ him to go back to Bendy, but even then...in the time between the second encounter and the scene with the Signal Towers Bendy was able to transform back into the Ink Demon.

You can take his threats at face value, but its pretty clear that he somehow (perhaps through the ink they’re both made from) knows exactly who she is without her ever mentioning it to him (hell, even she claims she ‘forgot’ before meeting Ink!Joey). So he couldn’t be on a murderous rampage from the banish incident (maybe partially), but from the fact she is the spawn of the guy that sealed his fate as the monstrous Ink Demon.

His tone completely changes after she joins Wilson, ironically warning her while he’s been hunting her the entire time. Perhaps he’s afraid that she and Wilson could genuinely overthrow him as lord of the Cycle? Maybe it was the point that he realized Audrey could be a force to be reckoned with. If she could evade him and his studio of monsters, Wilson and his laboratory of monsters, and his abomination of Shipahoy meant to be his trump card against him, then perhaps she was much more worthy of sharing his powers with her than simply killing her for being Drew’s daughter.

I’m kinda going on a tangent. I’m just trying to figure out what the Ink Demon’s plan for Audrey really was in the end, or if he just kinda winged it.

Ink Demon vs Vesty

I'm rambling my thoughts here!! There's been plenty of questions surrounding whether Ink and Vest share thoughts, are two completely different people or simply just different forms of the same being (similar to Ink Bendy and Beast Bendy in BATIM [as in they were the same person, just looked different]) so here are my thoughts about it. I'm gonna be using the names Ink (Bendy/Demon) and Vesty so it's easier to tell who I'm talking about. They are the same person. Ink is no longer just a wandering souless monster anymore, he can speak and think for himself. Ink Demon only appears after you hurt Vesty, which what we know from the Keeper tapes, he was severely wounded, tortured basically and probably does not respond to pain that well. Traumatic reasons yknow? That's when Ink actively looks for you and tries to hunt you, always having the black and white presence whenever he's out to kill you. If you're playing the game straight through, it's a low chance to get an Ink Demon attack after the transformation scene outside of Gent. In my personal experience at least, I didn't see him once until the ending. Okay, if they're the same person, why does he act so wildly different towards Audrey? This is more getting into headcannon possibly canon territory as none of this is truly explained. I personally think, because Bendy has always been visioned as a monster for his entire life, he tries to deceive you in some way. His Vesty form is the only time someone has ever looked at him with joy, so he plays up that role. Being nice, helping out, not speaking, just to make Audrey think they are not the same. The transformation scene has to be my biggest evidence, as when it's revealed, he glances at you and just does a walk of shame to go hide, both from the signal towers and probably the crushing reality of Audrey now knowing. When Audrey mentioned the Gent building, Vesty was very visibly upset and did not want to go. Audrey pushed and he had no other option but to help and follow. He is aware he is extremely vunerable in this form, that's why he stays out of trouble, he isn't stupid. The second Audrey loses sight of him, he completely dissapears. This also is never explained, nor does Audrey ever comment on it. Next scene is the Ink Demon stopping Audrey from entering Gent, no black and white filter which presumeably means he's not killing her. But the towers flash on, he transforms and has no other choice but to leave. When it comes to in-game scenes and such, Ink Demon feels way more friendly-ier then beforehand after the Gent scene. For example, before recruiting Vesty, Ink would always say how it's fate for her to die and how he'd find you regardless but afterwards, he warns you of Wilson and offers to help you when at your most vunerable (ending cutscene). I'm not saying Audrey and Bendy are now buddy-buddy, but they definitely have some sort of respect for one another. For christ sakes, Bendy quite literally saves her from being consumed by Shipahoy. He only gets aggressive once again when Audrey tries to break the cycle, the one thing he didn't want her doing. If you had trauma of no one ever liking you and only hurting you, I bet you'd become immediatly aggressive to whoever would hurt you. As to why after shocking Vesty, Ink Demon immediatly tries to hunt you down and the second he doesn't feel your presence in Animation Alley, he calls out to you instead. I don't blame him at all. That mf has been thru some shit. Anyways I think that's it, my silly lil BATDR theory / headcannon.

People are overthinking this. They can be seen as siblings by nature of sharing a similar origin. Audrey is as much genetically-related to Bendy as she is to Joey (i.e. not at all). Familial relationships do not require a modicum of shared bloodline.

It's squick for sure if you wanna headcannon both of them acknowledging a sibling relationship and decide they should bang, but that's your own damn thing, not a thing everyone else should adopt. Same if you wanna be vanilla and see them as just a random girl and monster with just one thing in common, nothings forcing you to be considerate of any other perception except for having the grace of not rubbing it in everyone else's face, especially if they disagree.

Bendy & Audrey Aren’t Related (plz don’t make this weird y’all)

Just a reminder, because I get the feeling this will become a headache in the BATDR fandom

The sibling jokes are cute but the Ink Demon/Bendy and Audrey are nooot canonically siblings, so keep that in mind when ultimately there will be shippers :) because:

- they were not born, they were created out of ink by the same artist (not physical siblings) thats about as related as two sketches on the same page

- they were not raised together, nor were they aware of each other as children (not step siblings)

- there is nothing canonical that suggests joey ever saw bendy as his child or even raised him; even the fan wiki doesn’t list bendy as having a father, nor is bendy listed as one of joey’s relatives 

- the ink demon says/does things to audrey in canon that would be weird if they were related, which might make some ppl feel uncomfortable with the increasingly popular sibling headcanon

I’m not saying the headcanon sibling memes should go away (they’re cute + funny), but I have already seen one incest “joke” and that’s just a nope from me dog. The headcanon is fun but people who are actually using canon aaaren’t drawing incest guys 🙃😅  Just something to keep in mind when you see people who don’t draw/write them that way!
