All of the Astral express crew members with chaotic child! reader

like imagine all of them having fun on some planet, looking at all the sights but then child reader sees something that piques their interest and lets go of whoever's hand they're holding onto and POOF they're gone.

and then the crew panics and chaos ensues :3

Vacation on Jarilo-VI

note: imagined an actual child!reader. ive never written or read something like this so this was a fun experiment! the ask is really fun to imagine though, i hope i did it justice!!

The Astral Express Crew are visiting Belobog after helping the stellaron crisis but this time, it's purely for a vacation. you weren't allowed to go last time and it really bummed you out so you're real excited about going!!

first stop is visiting Bronya and Seele in the Supreme Guardian's office. March and MC happily run up to greet the two and Dan Heng is introducing them to Welt and Himeko. their eyes are off you for a second and suddenly, Seele spots you trying to climb the ceiling high bookshelves! you're not too far up but enough that no one can grab you down. Welt is trying to convince you to go down, using his powers to slow you in case you fall. Himeko is yelling for you to be careful while apologizing profusely to Bronya and Seele. Dan Heng and MC are at the bottom of the shelf, arms out in an attempt to catch you in case you fall. thankfully, you get down fine. but Welt is grounding you, literally. you're banned from climbing on things for the rest of the trip.

the second stop is Serval's workshop. Himeko is talking to Serval about the machines and all that while March is showing Welt how the little connector puzzle works. you were listening to March before some of the tools caught your eye. suddenly, you're in the back of Serval's workshop playing with Serval's scrap pieces. MC is the first to notice you're gone, alerting Dan Heng and Welt. there's a sort of assumption you've gone far, so que a panicked Welt slamming the door of the workshop open trying to find you. you couldn't have gone far... or maybe you could? Welt's not sure how much to overestimate or underestimate your ability to go missing. 10 minutes later and Himeko finds you happily playing with bits and pieces of metal scraps and a pair of pliers in the back of the workshop.

the third stop is Boulder Town and god, the entire crew is swearing they're going to keep a close eye on you. Dan Heng stops you from climbing in the cart full of geomarrow and Welt is holding your hand almost all the time (although he doesn't notice that you pulled away a couple times, he's a little too focused hearing an explanation of geomarrows from some miners). but then you meet the moles. and you and Hook get along great! and now you want to play with the moles. and Hook is incredible at swaying people into things. you are now free to play with the moles!

Hook really did mean it when she promised that she'd keep an eye on you and that the moles wouldn't leave Boulder Town. she really did mean it! but you were practically begging Hook to take you to Rivet Town as she retold her adventures with MC to fetch Junjun. you only meant to take a peak, a quick one. but then a peak turned into showing you the street of the restaurant where Natasha took kids who were good, and then it turned to a few streets more, until it was a whole town tour. Hook couldn't help herself, you seemed so interested in her stories about the town!

back in Boulder Town, the Astral Express Crew is ready to move onto the last stop and theyre looking for you. March asks Julian who's hesitant to say but eventually fesses that Hook took you to take a peak of Rivet Town. the original Jarilo-IV Trailblaze Team is worried and there's a bit of initial confusion, Himeko and Welt thinking Hook simply took you to the next town over. and Dan Heng has to explain that Rivet Town is infested with fragmentum monsters. poor Julian is bombarded with question like whether or not you and Hook went alone, how long you've been gone, etc...

they do find you and Hook, eventually. it was about an hour long search. it just happened that you and Hook got tired and decided to rest in one spot for a while, who knows how long it’d take the crew to find you guys had you not stop exploring.

the fourth and final destination is the Robot Settlement! the entire crew understands that a LOT can go wrong at the settlement; so many crevices and corners you could run to, robots who may not recognize you aren't a threat or are malfunctioning. Dan Heng explained the crew's concerns to Svarog and Clara who quickly come up with a solution: Svarog isn't letting you out of his sight!

while Clara gives the crew a tour of the Robot Settlement, Svarog accompanied to watch you. he catches you nearly running away to get a closer look at a robot twice, four times for something shiny in the stone walls, and once for something on the ground. he couldnt quite figure out what made that part of the snow covered ground was so much more special than the rest for you, and neither could you, which is why it was so interesting.

Svarog is pretty reliable most the time, he practically raised Clara so everyone trusted him with you. maybe Clara was a lot more mellow as a child compared to you but this 'take care of a child' task difficulty increased by tenfold when it came to you. how Svarog managed to lose you is unknown; all he knew was one moment you were crawling all over him, asking him questions, then telling him you wanted to walk, and the next, you were gone.

if they were panicking before, they were having a full on break down now. Svarog lost you and now couldn't find you within his field of vision! with how reliable Svarog was made to sound, they feared the worst. maybe you fell down the cliff, what if a robot malfunctioned and fought you? Svarog tried calculating how far you could've gotten and how likely it was for you to be found but no one could quite decide on when they last saw you.

a wave of relief washes over them when they find you asking a robot questions. honestly, the entire crew feared you'd died or something, though no one wanted to say it. unaware of this feeling, you're caught off guard as March, Himeko, then the rest of the astral express crew rushed over to give you a tight hug. Himeko scolded you a bit for making the crew worry but she was more happy you were fine than anything.

the crew may find it stress inducing and troublesome when you disappear, but they wouldn't trade you for anything in the world!

because i dont. i just write as i go because i actually dont know how to plan out a story, help (˶╥︿╥)

Welt x Reader with Snake Eyes

a/n: I really hope I did what you wanted, so sorry if it isn’t what you imagined! I wouldve finished yesterday but took the day off bc my wrists have been acting up and my shoulders hurt TT posting this from my phone bc I wanna post it but just got ready for bed so if formatting weird, sorry, I’ll fix later

you have a lot of fears, but fighting isn't one of them. it's not that you aren't scared of fighting enemies, it's just inevitable for you to fight enemies when you're trailblazing so best you get over it. but you would have never suspected that fighting a mara-struck soldier would make you face one of your biggest fear.

when the mara-struck soldier revived itself and attacked, you weren't able to dodge fast enough. taking a hit to your face, a piece of cloth falls as you drop to the ground. welt quickly finishes off the mara-struck soldier and turns to check on you. you're on your knees, facing the ground, with your hands covering your face, and welt is awfully worried. thoughts about how badly hurt you might be, and what if you're bleeding fill his mind.

welt kneels down next to you, his hands grabbing your wrists as he tries to pull your hands away from your face to access the damage.

"NO!" you exclaim, pulling away from him. welt is definitely surprised at your sudden action.

"please, darling, I need to know if you're hurt," welt's voice was full of concern. how bad is it if you're hiding it from him? his mind if full of worries and countless possibilities on how badly injured you are.

"please," welt pleads, "please show me your face, darling," and something about his voice lowers your guard. you put your hands down and turn to him. and welt sees it.

he sees your eyes for the first time.

his shocked face was all you needed to see.

you quickly gather yourself and run. where to? you don't know. it's probably a stupid idea. neither you nor welt know the area well and you're in a vacant ship on the Xianzhou. but right now, you wanted nothing more than to get away. what would he think when he saw your eyes? he looked shocked. maybe he likes you less now. maybe he doesn't like you at all. oh no. does he think you're freaky? what would you do if he broke up with you? you don't want to think of the possibility, but it's all you can think about.

welt is used to your blindfold. you were wearing it when the two of you first met. you wear it when you guys drink your morning coffees. you even wore it when you went to bed. welt never really wondered what was under your blindfold, and he never asked. it was just not a thought that occurred to him. he just saw the blindfold as a part of you.

but today. today, he saw a side of you he hadn't seen before in all of your time together. and maybe, he was a little shocked. but he most definitely doesn’t find you freaky, he’d never use those words to describe you.

welt watches you run off before snapping back and realizing that getting lost and separated really wouldn’t be ideal. he might be on the older side, but he’s still fit. you’ve never left his sight and when he sees you sit down in the corner between some crates, he slows to a walk.

it’s awkward, he kinda just… sits next to you. your head buried in your knees, refusing to look at him, and he’s just sitting there silently, hunched over, a blank expression not really showing anything. a few minutes pass, although it felt like dreadfully long hours to you, he speaks up.

“are your eyes normal in your world..?”

you shake your head. not at all. in fact, many on your world found your eyes freaky, something to be fearful about.

“so they’re unique… they’re beautiful.”

it catches you off guard. how could he say something like that? and so smoothly too?

“I mean, you are beautiful.”

after a long silence, you speak.

“you think so?”

“of course, you’re beautiful in my eyes.”

“you don’t think they’re freaky? at all?”

“I won’t lie, they are unique. but freaky is too much. they’re just as beautiful as the rest of you.”

Welt puts him arm around you and pulls you closer. for a while, the two of you stay embracing each other in silence. welt’s words may not be able to undue years of insecurity, but they help you feel a bit more comfortable with your own body, even if just momentarily.

HSR x chronically ill!Reader

a/n: hii!! I’m not sure what type of chronic illness you wanted the reader to have so each character has a different chronically ill reader, I hope that’s ok! blade's was kind of self-indulgent because i got arthritis (though no where as severe as the reader's is depicted) im so sorry if some of the illnesses arent 100% accurate word count: 1.4k (in total)

Blade x Reader with rheumatoid arthritis

: ̗̀➛ you were diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in every joint in your body. this meant that the pain in your joints would only get worse with time. of course, you had your good and bad days. on good days, the pain was minimal, to the point you wouldn't feel a thing. but on bad days, the pain in your shoulders made it difficult to carry bags, lift things, and particular bad days made it near impossible to get even changed. somedays, the pain in your hips were uneven and made you limp. Blade didn't really understand it at first; you were fine one day and looked terrible the next. it took him a while but he eventually understood that your arthritis came and went. 

: ̗̀➛ one particular bad day, you could only lay down, feeling uncomfortable in your own body, a constant spike of pain present. breathing felt difficult, and you felt yourself tearing up just trying to sit up. the minutes it takes to even sit up right felt more like hours. sometimes, the pain killers wouldn't work as they should, and unfortunately, this was one of those days. 

: ̗̀➛ Blade enters your room and you quickly turn your head to face him, and immediately regret it due to the pain. he knows it's one of those bad days; your eyes watery, the awkward position you were sitting in, and the look on your face just begging him to make the pain go away. it's difficult for him to comfort you with words so he goes to get some heating pads, food for you to eat, etc... anything he can really. he'll hold you close, minimal movements, letting you lay on him. in the silence between you two, he can't help but wish that at the very least, you could achieve the eternal peace he was chasing after. 

Gepard x Reader with asthma

: ̗̀➛ as the captain of the silvermane guards, he has to keep fit and he’d like you, his lover, to at least do some morning runs with him. he knows that you have asthma, but he didn’t think a morning brisk would do anything awful. as long as you managed your symptoms, it was all fine! there usually arent any problems either, to the point your inhaler was often forgotten at home during these runs.

: ̗̀➛ unfortunately, perhaps you were trying to go faster for Gepard knowing he usually slowed down for you or something but you were definitely pushing yourself more than you could handle. your breaths drew short, not enough oxygen getting to you leaving you lightheaded as you continued to run. Gepard ran a bit in front of you, or at least he did. you watched as the distance between you and him grew farther and farther, and your running got slower until it came to a halt. leaning against a wall, you tried to catch your breath but you honestly couldn’t tell if you were breathing at all. the pain coming from your chest felt like too much, you had a hard time pushing air in and out of your lungs.

: ̗̀➛ Gepard ran back, retracing his steps, when he saw you were no longer with him. he found you hunched over, leaning against a wall, looking like you were hyperventilating. rushing to your side, he quickly recognizes that you were having an asthma attack. scooping you into his arm, he quickly runs back to your home. he may look calm due to the fact he is able to hide his fears, he’s a captain after all, but he’s panicking on the inside. the way home is blurry; you aren’t focused on what’s happening around you, only feeling your chest going up and down yet it didn’t feel like you were breathing. it felt as if there was something blocking your airway, causing everything to feel sort of stuck. Gepard grabs your inhaler and shakes it, before giving it to you. the effects don’t happen immediately which worried Gepard, but you eventually were able to breath, at least a little. he takes you to a hospital to get checked up immediately after. it’s when you’re getting checked does the realization that he came so close to losing you sink in. Gepard is clingier the week after that; holding your hands more (even when he’s working), kissing you almost every chance he gets, holding you before bed, etc… he’ll never forget to bring your inhaler on your morning runs after that.

Jing Yuan x Reader with diabetes

: ̗̀➛ low blood sugar is more than being shaky; no matter how long you’ve been diabetic, you’ll never get used to the god awful feeling of dread that occurs. Jing Yuan cares about your health, and he’s got the books and notes to prove it. usually, diabetes doesn’t get in the way of your life besides watching what you eat, having to keep fit, but it’s manageable.

: ̗̀➛ certain occasions like today, unfortunately, you wake up to a shaky feeling crawling up your body. it was early morning, Jing Yuan slept looking peaceful by your side. you forced yourself up and reached over to the meter as quietly as you could. after loading the strip into the device, you pricked your finger- a feeling you will never like. the number 40 glowed on the screen, glaring at you. you knew you had to wake Jing Yuan up because you really didn’t think you could go anywhere feeling like this. you felt awful nudging him awake, interrupting his sleep. all you have to do is show Jing Yuan the 40 and he’s beelining to the kitchen for some juice. when you finish drinking the juice, Jing Yuan holds; your head on his chest and his arms wrapped around you.

: ̗̀➛ your apologies to Jing Yuan for waking him fall to deaf ears as he’s rebutting everything you’re saying. many “nothing to be sorry about”s and “it’s not your fault”s could be heard. 15 minutes later, you prick your finger and show Jing Yuan a glowing 97. he goes to grab you a sandwich and after you finish eating, you two go back to bed. you lean on his shoulder, his hand cradling the side of your head, his chin laid on the top of your head, the two of you drift back to sleep holding each other.

Dan Heng x Reader with osteoporosis

: ̗̀➛ the path of the Trailblaze was not one without danger and Dan Heng was afraid you’d to be hurt in the crossfire though. you were diagnosed with osteopenia which eventually led to osteoporosis, which meant your bones were brittle. you hated it, this meant you were a liability to the astral express when trailblazing and often had to sit out during anything that had the slightest bit of danger. once, you asked if you could just have March’s shield on you at all times but even that proved ineffective in the long run.

: ̗̀➛ today, the astral express crew was visiting Herta for the Trailblazer to check out the simulated universe. Dan Heng quickly finished off the enemy before rushing to your side. it looked terrible, your arm was bent out of place and you couldn’t find it in yourself to say a thing. when you tried to move, a dreadful grinding sound occurred which made you nauseous. Dan Heng alerted the rest of the express crew before they all brought you to the medical department. thankfully, it wasn’t anything irreversible but throughout the treatment, you couldn’t help but feel like a big burden, getting hurt easily.

: ̗̀➛ once everything is fine and all you needed was time to heal, Dan Heng pulled you into a tight hug, whispering a few “thank god you’re fine”s and a “i was so worried.” usually you’d love his clingier side but it felt like pity. and god, it made you feel awful. no one else on the express would get hurt as easily as you. you push Dan Heng away, feeling terrible that you were such a burden, you quickly brief over how you feel. he grabs your wrist, looking you straight in your eyes, and loudly stated every reason you were not a burden because of your osteoporosis. from how you could take care of yourself to helping the express in ways non-physical like talking your way into less community service when the astral express crashed into a stadium. Dan Heng pulled you into a hug saying one last time, “you aren’t a burden.”

HSR x mute!reader (RQ)

I actually started watching komi can't communicate since you said it, and ended up watching too much of it and writing too little lololol i made the scenario thing into someone saying something offensive about how reader is mute since we're on that topic already, hope thats ok! more a/n: I FORGOT ABOUT WELT, ADDED HIM NOW

* ˚ ✦ Jing Yuan who was initially curious behind why you couldn’t speak but no matter the reason, he wouldn't mind it. he finds your expressions cute, i mean who wouldn't? god, he can't believe anyone in their right mind could ever make a snarky remark about you. but they did, and Jing Yuan is gonna let that go easily. even if you say you're fine with that comment, he sure isn't. he doesn't go and threaten the person, instead he'll make their lives oh so annoying. they'll be denied service due to some obscure reason (a gag order from Jing Yuan; you seem to forget he's a general, he has a lot of influence), luck will never seem to be by their side either. and if they're a long-life species, well, they're in for a couple decades of annoyances. Jing Yuan isn't confrontational but he sure is petty.

* ˚ ✦ Blade originally found you being mute rather troublesome. it was a lot more work having to read your notes, and though you're fast at writing, Blade used to always complain about how slow you were at responses. but he slowly gets used to it, and in time, he finds himself enjoying your silent company. in all the chaos, Blade enjoys the comfortable silence between you two. if you want to talk, he'll read your notes and respond with nods or shakes of his head. he'll get pretty pissed hearing someone make a snarky remark on your lack of speech. there's nothing much he can and wants to do except brandish his sword at the person. after, Blade will give you a quick look of are you ok? before moving on. it's a small sweet gesture.

* ˚ ✦ Dan Heng who was neither curious nor cared about you being mute. he simply accepted it as a fact and continued. it doesn't really bother him, he has no qualms about it. but when someone says something offensive about your lack of speech, that's when he has a problem. why can't they mind their own business? he'll tell them a snarky remark before taking you away from the situation. it's not worth the trouble concerning the both of you with that person is what he'll think. Dan Heng will ask you if you're alright and assure you that what the person said is wrong. he'll make sure you know you are perfectly fine not speaking, you aren't abnormal for not speaking, and that it's part of your charm and one of the many things he likes about you.

* ˚ ✦ Welt who respects the fact you're mute. he doesn't pry into why you are but he'll listen if you want to explain. if you draw little faces on your notes to convey your expression, god, he's so weak to that. will indulge in drawing faces on your notes (smiley faces with a badly drawn thumbs up as an ok from him; it took him 5 minutes to draw that hand). he finds it unbelievable anyone would say something so passive aggressive about the fact you're mute. people can be so disrespectful! he disengages the situation and leaves, guiding you away with his arm wrapped around your shoulder. like Dan Heng, he'll reassure you that whatever was said was wrong. you'll never interact, or even see, that person again if he can help it.

Ooooh how about the whole Astral Express fam but both Caelus and Stelle + Y/N at an amusement park? Like who would be grabbing onto who for dear life on rollercoasters, who enjoys the spinny and 100 mph rides and then all of them on those water raft rides or just some ride with enough room for them all?

THE ASTRAL EXPRESS: AMUSEMENT PARKS

a/n: i hope i did your request right. i havent been to an amusement park in years so im honestly just assuming these rides all exist inside one park. i did think of writing for pompom but wondered if pompom can even leave the express. i enjoyed writing this, thank you! (ˊᗜˋ)/

March 100% enjoys thrill rides and ferris wheels. she acts like the ride is scary when she's in line but has no fear taking out her camera right before the roller coaster is about to drop. does her little peace sign pose and takes a picture as the people around are yelling and someone passed out. she'll even go on a ride multiple times just for a good picture. forces everyone to go with her at least once. if you say yes easily, great: you're going on the drop tower for the third time in two hours with March now! Welt holding his poor back, Himeko is a little dizzy, Dan Heng is sweating and feeling nauseous, Stelle and Caelus are both saying they're perfectly fine but their legs are shaking like crazy, March is completely unaffected though! she's running to the next ride and telling everyone to hurry up as if she didn't just make Caelus throw up inside a little. if you're unaffected like she is, pray for your legs because you'll be standing in line for hours going on the same ride again and again.

Caelus enjoys the bumper cars and bumper boats the most. there’s something therapeutic about purposefully crashing into people, according to him. he targets people but denies it. has nearly flipped another bumper boat open and was forced to apologize to the whoever was on that bumper boat by welt later. don't be surprised if Caelus begins targeting you for no reason, he does it for everyone!

Stelle loves the haunted houses and test of strength games. nothing better than going through it all trying to prove who's better. March happily goes along with her, Caelus will too, and Dan Heng will be dragged along whether he likes it or not! Himeko and Welt wait outside, still recovering from the rides March dragged them on. most of the time, you'll walk through the haunted house no problem. the most you'll get is a sharp gasp from Caelus and Stelle or an "EEP!" from March, and nothing from Dan Heng. but if it's one of those creepier haunted houses, well... you'll walk out, all of you holding onto somewhere on Dan Heng.

Dan Heng probably enjoys the lazy river the most. thats saying a lot since he doesn't exactly like nor dislike any rides at the amusement park. this is an activity the entire astral express will partake in! as much as thrills and fun rides and attractions are appealing, you can't beat a moment of relaxation in a chaotic day. Caelus and March have fallen asleep while floating down the lazy river while everyone else sits in comfortable silence.

Welt doesn't have a preference on rides and attraction. he's an everything type of guy! will try everything at least once, mostly because you and the others ask him. feeling too nervous to go on a ride but you still want to? ask him to tag along. don't want to line up for the overpriced amusement park food alone? he'll come with you. he's like a personal plus-one for everyone on the astral express crew!

Himeko enjoys the ferris wheels. something about being at the very top of the ferris wheel, overseeing the world from a different angle that is so, so nice. March likes the ferris wheel too! she and Himeko will take pictures in the ferris wheel. the entire crew is likely split into two cabins; one having Himeko, March, Caelus and you, and the other has Dan Heng, Stelle, and Welt. of course, Himeko doesn't stay on the ferris wheel the entire time, she can be seen going through gift shops and all that; a souvenir to commemorate this occasion.

I actually started watching komi can't communicate since you said it, and ended up watching too much of it and writing too little lololol i made the scenario thing into someone saying something offensive about how reader is mute since we're on that topic already, hope thats ok! more a/n: I FORGOT ABOUT WELT, ADDED HIM NOW

* ˚ ✦ Jing Yuan who was initially curious behind why you couldn’t speak but no matter the reason, he wouldn't mind it. he finds your expressions cute, i mean who wouldn't? god, he can't believe anyone in their right mind could ever make a snarky remark about you. but they did, and Jing Yuan is gonna let that go easily. even if you say you're fine with that comment, he sure isn't. he doesn't go and threaten the person, instead he'll make their lives oh so annoying. they'll be denied service due to some obscure reason (a gag order from Jing Yuan; you seem to forget he's a general, he has a lot of influence), luck will never seem to be by their side either. and if they're a long-life species, well, they're in for a couple decades of annoyances. Jing Yuan isn't confrontational but he sure is petty.

* ˚ ✦ Blade originally found you being mute rather troublesome. it was a lot more work having to read your notes, and though you're fast at writing, Blade used to always complain about how slow you were at responses. but he slowly gets used to it, and in time, he finds himself enjoying your silent company. in all the chaos, Blade enjoys the comfortable silence between you two. if you want to talk, he'll read your notes and respond with nods or shakes of his head. he'll get pretty pissed hearing someone make a snarky remark on your lack of speech. there's nothing much he can and wants to do except brandish his sword at the person. after, Blade will give you a quick look of are you ok? before moving on. it's a small sweet gesture.

* ˚ ✦ Dan Heng who was neither curious nor cared about you being mute. he simply accepted it as a fact and continued. it doesn't really bother him, he has no qualms about it. but when someone says something offensive about your lack of speech, that's when he has a problem. why can't they mind their own business? he'll tell them a snarky remark before taking you away from the situation. it's not worth the trouble concerning the both of you with that person is what he'll think. Dan Heng will ask you if you're alright and assure you that what the person said is wrong. he'll make sure you know you are perfectly fine not speaking, you aren't abnormal for not speaking, and that it's part of your charm and one of the many things he likes about you.

* ˚ ✦ Welt who respects the fact you're mute. he doesn't pry into why you are but he'll listen if you want to explain. if you draw little faces on your notes to convey your expression, god, he's so weak to that. will indulge in drawing faces on your notes (smiley faces with a badly drawn thumbs up as an ok from him; it took him 5 minutes to draw that hand). he finds it unbelievable anyone would say something so passive aggressive about the fact you're mute. people can be so disrespectful! he disengages the situation and leaves, guiding you away with his arm wrapped around your shoulder. like Dan Heng, he'll reassure you that whatever was said was wrong. you'll never interact, or even see, that person again if he can help it.

arlan x reader who is a part of the nameless?

Seven Days

a/n: the request was kind of vague so I’m so sorry if this isn’t what you wanted! reader is part of the astral express because they’re technically the nameless

arlan is always a little more sad than he lets on when you leave. he knows you cant stay forever, but he wishes you'd stay longer. though, he understands. you both have your own lives and duties you follow; him on herta's space station and you on the astral express.

you try your best to visit him as often as you can, but the astral express's next location is decided on a vote. unfortunately, you're often outvoted when you suggest the next location be herta's space station for the umpteenth time in a row. every couple weeks, the astral express crew takes pity and end up at herta's space station. don't worry, you aren't bothering them. caelus/stelle has to visit herta and test her simulated world so you aren't the only one that needs and wants to visit the space station.

the astral express spends an average of seven days at each stop.

on the first day, you spend a good portion of the day looking for arlan. poor him, always so busy with a such a demanding boss. when you do manage to track him down, he's busy running around doing his tasks. he'll spare you a minute or two but that's all he can afford, unfortunately. you asked if you could stay in his room but he began getting flustered and denied saying “it’s not really clean so I wouldn’t want you to stay there- I mean I do but it’s messy and I don’t want you dirty.” you’re a little disappointed, you won’t lie.

the second day is far better than the first. he told you where and when to meet him. he's taking his lunch break at exactly 1:35pm so meet him by the vending machines, yeah? you spend roughly an hour with him; eating, talking, even playing holodisc with peppy! then he’s back to work. you’re free to go around the space station the rest of the time, or you can spend time on the express or hanging around in arlan’s room. arlan cleaned out his room so now you’re free to enter! after a long day of work and knowing you’re on the ship but he can’t meet you, arlan gladly melts in your arm as you both drift to sleep.

the third day is like the second, only you get a little more intimate with arlan. it’s odd really, he gets really shy after not seeing you for weeks. ok, in his defense, he hasn’t held hands or kissed anyone in weeks- months! it feels kind of weird to do it again, but he likes it. meeting arlan again is learning physical touch all over again. from holding hands with him being as stiff as a board and hugging but he forgot where his arms go to him acting like you guys are about to kiss for the first time, it’s honestly adorable. he’s pretty quick with getting used to physical touch again so by day 3, you’re back to naturally holding hands, hugging, and kisses! this time, you don’t sleep in his room at night. instead, you and arlan sleep in your cabin on the astral express!

the fourth day is probably the best, at least more fun day. he gave his personal leave notice on the first day and it only got approved for today. you and arlan are free to do whatever you want the whole day! maybe because it’s the most laid back day the two of you have, you both end up sleeping in. and once you wake up, you spend the next couple hours over a cup of coffee as you and arlan talk about anything and everything. unfortunately, there aren’t many date options for your situation so this is your best pick. the two of you enjoy the day together, enjoying each other’s company after a long time of not having it. at the end of the day, you both go back to the space station and end up asleep in arlan’s room.

when you wake up on the sixth day, arlan is gone. he’s off working, while you laid in his bed. it always feels a little lonely and melancholy on the sixth day. but this is the day you often pay a visit to asta and enjoy a chat over some tea with her. there’s not much you can do on this day, not much you want to do anyways. you’d make multiple rounds around the station, and bump into arlan if you’re lucky. small chats before he has to get back to the task at hand are sadly the only times you can talk to him. arlan misses you too, don’t think it’s one sided. he really is trying his best to hurry up with all his assignments but herta is a terrible boss; the faster he does them, the more he has to do.

sometimes you wish the seventh day never comes. it’s another day of only being with arlan during his short breaks. but its the worst day because you know there's no tomorrow to see him again. you'll wait weeks and weeks for a chance to see him again. to spend a short seven days with him.

so until you see him again, little goodmornings and goodnights sent seemingly at random due to the time differences, calls that go from minutes to hours long, and a lot of pictures of things around the both of you sent to each other will have to do.

more a/n: i wanted to write about arlan visiting you on the astral express but it might be too much so maybe a second part/version to this. ended up writing this on the car on a 3 hour road trip, not edited or anything! not sure what to name this either so it’s kinda random lol
