Update, I'm still in pain.

I've given my lymph node a name, Lloyd (pronounced "La-loyd").

It's the middle of week three (the week it should be going away), nothing has changed and I'm still wallowing in my painful despair.

There was a moment in the beginning of week three that I felt I was being dramatic about my situation, so I got moving and did some things around the house. Now I can't move my neck.

I'm calling my doctor Monday...

I had a dream last night my ear rotted and fell off, and I watched as a hoard of ants carried it away. I'm just happy that one had nothing to do with Lymphoma!

Update, I can't chew food, it hurts too much. But at least ice-cream is still on the table! I love ice-cream🥰 The chewing has nothing to do with my teeth, just that the infection is toying with a muscle in my jaw.

Thank you! Bridgerton has been my best distraction, as well as nursing my little sister's cold. My life's hectic rn and yet Chisaki still plagues my thoughts😅

My side effects today? An ear ach and a slighty swollen and painful lymph node below said ear. This can happen if you've been over exerting yourself (totally not me) to the point of catching a cold you ignore, or it can be the early signs of lymphoma. Which one do you think I cried about for two hours this evening?

NO WAY THOSE ARE JOKES BETWEEN ME AND MY SISTER- well similar ones😭😭😭 one because I broke a glass and my immediate reaction was "*sigh* if only Overhaul were here...😔" and then another because my sister asked the morning after leak night if Kai has showed up yet (we got excited after the Nagant comback) and i had to disappoint her with a sad no and she yelled "Herohaul now Hori!!😡"

If Overhaul was put to deal with the universe's problems, I'd feel at my safest.😌

Pretty sure this is one of my most Hardcore Delusional takes yet, but it’s something that’s been in the back of my mind ever since chapter 312 where it was shown that All For One was in direct proximity to a defenseless Chisaki… and didn’t steal his quirk. I remember when the chapter was more recent, there was a bunch of people theorizing that AFO stole the Overhaul quirk, but over the last 100+ chapters, it’s become apparent that he probably didn’t.

And I thought to myself, “Why not steal that quirk? It would help you and your whole plan greatly. Why on earth would you pass up that opportunity?” And these feelings were thrown back in my face by chapter 419, where it got confirmed Chisaki was in one of AFO’s facilities as a kid (He had a previous, even better opportunity to steal the quirk, which challenged my original idea that AFO let Chisaki keep the quirk to maintain his manipulation of Shigaraki).

So the question is: Why, for the sake of everything holy and unholy, did AFO not steal Chisaki’s quirk despite having every chance, reason, and more to?

But I was reading quirkwizard’s post about their opinion on the 419 Overhaul-Decay reveal, and it came to me, kinda baselessly but still—what if he literally can’t? What if there’s something about the quirk or Chisaki that makes it so that AFO literally can’t take the quirk somehow?

Because like quirkwizard said, it makes no sense for AFO to have just not stolen the quirk? Like, I can semi-see what he was going for with stripping the reconstruction part when he gave it to Shigaraki to promote pure destruction or whatever, but why not make the copy and then take the original for himself or Garaki? Especially back then, before anyone but AFO knew about Chisaki?? And also, yeah, how DID Chisaki get out of the orphanage? Did he just breakout and run away like Touya did? Or was it something deeper? I’ll probably brainstorm it and make another post, BUT if anyone has any personal theories about it, PLEASE tell me, I love reading Chisaki theories!!

But anyway, yeah. Is it that maybe he actually can’t? Is that why he had to resort to merely making a, in his own words, subpar copy? Because why was stealing Chisaki’s quirk never even on the table, for anyone, in either of the blatant two different situations it could’ve easily been stolen??

I feel like the Overhaul being the origins of the Decay quirk thing is to deepen the parallels between Chisaki and Shigaraki (obviously), but the real question is why. Why deepen the parallels between them to that extent, in that context? Unless there’s still more to be revealed about Chisaki and his past (like @ikamigami ‘s theory that Chisaki is AFO’s kid, which is a theory I cannot stop thinking about btw) that’ll further connect him and Shigaraki.

When your twin starts the post with "this might be delusional but-" you know it's gonna be good!

I love this! And I've wondered it myself...

I always believed Kai was a backup, that's why Afo let him keep his quirk. But Afo seemed kinda nervous and flustered in their prison break encounter. It's obvious Afo could sence everything around him despite his lack of sight, to the point he could easily find Lady Nagant in the horde of prisoners, but he only noticed Kai when Kai started speaking.

Makes me wonder if Kai has some sorta immunity to Afo's quirks. Like, all of them...?

I like to think the Doctor and Kai had some sort of relationship since Kai has such a broad knowledge of quirk science. Maybe the Doctor gave him a shielding quirk to protect him? Going off my theory that Pops worked for Afo, maybe the reason Afo sold Kai off to Pops was to break the relationship between him and the Doctor??

I've been holding on to @ikamigami 's theory for dear life lately😭 It was one of my favs! If we don't get that mf's Yoichi's eyebrow reveal I'm bouta start tweakin'-

Then there's my theory with little to know context where Kai is related to the glowing baby guy. I think it just explains Afo sorta ignoring Kai all together simply out of generational spite.

And simply on the subject of Kai's quirk, I felt that Overhaul was incredibly downplayed. I mean, the guy has completed and utter control over MATTER, you know how broad of a field that is?? Solids, liquids, gasses, plasmas, DARK. And with a basic understanding of physics, ENERGY! (E=MC²) Hypothetically, bro can make light, destroy light, SHAPE LIGHT. He could turn a concrete parking lot into ocean water. Everyone talks about how he could've done good with is quirk by curing cancer, and while that's good, my bro could've healed all of Earth while he was at it.

I gotta scream this out again bc not enough people are GETTING IT.

KAI CHISAKI COULDN'T GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT STEALING QUIRKS!! That's just how he presented his product, it's a marketing thing.

The only thing Chisaki cares about is the status of his Yakuza, if there was a better way to grow it's power and control in the criminal world outside of the dark market, he would've gone that route.

Chisaki is a business man, he's trying to sell a big product. And to do so, the product needs a big name.

I'm tired of seeing this persona of Kai as some crazed quirk hater, if he was the yakuza would've been on some cult shit like those anti-meta people.

And to further prove my point! If he wanted all quirks gone, why would he be making and antidote?

OMG you asked in the tags "why did he name himself after his quirk?"

Two possible answers!

1) Kai/Horikoshi was lazy!🥰

2) Since Kai believed fear would give him complete power and control over the yakuza, he decided to name himself after what everyone feared the most about him. Doesn't mean he necessarily liked being feared or even wanted it, just that somewhere along his life he learned it's the most efficient way to gain control with little defiance. You can tell he wasn't obsessed with it or he would've been treating Hari and Shin way different! Yes, he expected things from them, but he didn't punish them for minor mistakes. Like when the eight bullets were late to back Kai up when he was first meeting the League, and Hari wasted a bullet with a missed shot. Hari felt ok enough to admit it to Kai's face, Kai's life work, a piece of it wasted! (I hate the mis-characterisation of Kai being super over bearing and cruel to his yakuza for no reason, sure he wasn't a sweetie pie but he wasn't a sadist either💀)

Well, now we know where that place is. Basically everyone's assumption was right, it was one of the Doctor's orphanages.

And we can sorta put two and two together with the picture thing, given Decay is half of Overhaul.

But we still don't know why AFO is avoident towards Chisaki. Assuming AFO purposely kept Kai's cell locked and wouldn't use him after seeing him escape.

I'm still curious to know why Kai's vault was the only one still locked. Suspicious.

And why Afo was all flustered when finding him with Kaina. Like, dude... I know you don't have eyes, but you can notice everything else around you but him? Suspicious. And your willing to give Nagant a second quirk but not heal Kai and have him help you somehow? Suspicious.
