I'm so glad I read this post (or a post like it) a few years ago. Today I got a call saying it was the IRS or something. I remembered this post and googled the number. Apparently they had called a lot of people, trying to scam them out of money. This post saved me a lot of stress and money. The fbi or irs will send you a letter in the mail. They will not call you. Please pass this on.

Hey y’all so last year I was one of the like 50,000 people that got scammed by IRS impersonators and now the new thing is impersonating the FBI. I just got a call that was like ‘your name and address are under federal investigation and if you dont call us back you will be arrested.’

THE FBI DOESNT DO THAT. I called my local FBI office because oh hey this sounded A LOT LIKE THAT OTHER CALL and the lady on the phone was like ‘yeah the FBI doesn’t do that’

SO PSA IF YOU GET A CALL LIKE THAT HANG UP AND CALL YOUR LOCAL FBI OFFICE AND REPORT THEIR SCAMMY ASSES
