👰🏻 “How the heck am I going to get my enormous wedding gown through TSA?!” With a double layered pepto bismol pink garment bag of course! • We flew first class @delta so I could get my own bin for the dress above our seats. They took such great care of us! I lugged my dress through Logan Airport, nervously passed it to the TSA agent who gingerly carried it to a faraway scanner, held/draped it over my bag in the boarding area, and neatly folded it above me in-flight in the overhead bin. • At MCO I had some relief by hanging the dress on the upper handrail, and by the time we got to WDW I could finally lower my arm lol! I didn’t even need to steam the dress before the wedding. • On the way home I packed my dress in the same double bagging, wasn’t as cautious about overhead storage and crumpled it up above my bag, and everything made its way home without damage. I had the dress cleaned and pressed afterwards. The MK pavement does a number on your hem line! Takeaway: if you’re flying, carry on your dress. I loved wearing our celebration pins during our honeymoon in WDW! 👰🏻🤵🏻 • Cast members were so kind and congratulatory. Sometimes we were given sweet treats after meals like this one at Kona Cafe! We did a rose petal staged exit after our ceremony in the Wedding Pavilion 💒. Bubbles, rice, real flower petals, your choice! • With our subtle Beauty & the Beast theme I opted for red rose petals that tied in to my bouquet and Tommy’s boutonniere.🌹 It made for a great photo opp! After our MK portrait session we were driven out backstage and returned to the Polynesian where we were staying. Still in our wedding attire, we decided to take an early morning spin around Seven Seas Lagoon on the monorail! 🚝 We had fellow guests take our pictures for a mini “photo shoot.” The kids on our monorail were in awe! 💕 It was a beautiful morning and a great way to complete our Walt Disney World wedding fantasy! Another “Pinch me, I’m dreaming!” moment was having Pirates of the Caribbean all to ourselves during our Route 3 Portrait Session! ☠️🏴‍☠️ • The sky really WAS overcast with the moon peaking out just as the sun was rising. The lighting is so perfect it looks fake, but I promise you we were there. My favorite part of our Route 3 Portrait Session: standing outside AND inside the queue to the Haunted Mansion all by ourselves! 👻🎺🔮 • This was such a priceless moment for Tommy and me. Sure, it’s a bit macabre, but we got married on October 13 and I love all things spooky and supernatural. The Haunted Mansion has always been on my Top 5! Happy Princess Half day, everyone! 👑 • I miss running with you all, and I miss running down Main Street. I choke back tears every time I turn the corner to see Cinderella Castle and my next trip to WDW. I will be a sobbing mess when we make our glorious return. Magic Kingdom Portrait Session 📸 • You can have a private portrait session in any of the four parks! We went with MK. All MK sessions are early before park opening and begin at Cinderella Castle. We had ours done two days after our wedding. That meant putting on my dress again! I got my hair and makeup done at 3am in our room at the Polynesian! From there a car picked us up at the front of the resort and we were driven backstage. • There are three routes to choose from and you can personalize where you want to maximize your time: • Route 1: Prince Charming Regal Carousel, Mad Tea Party, Wishing Well • Route 2: Enchanted Tales with Belle, Be Our Guest Restaurant, Under the Sea-Journey of The Little Mermaid • Route 3: Rapunzel Tower, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean • We went with Route 3! We spent a lot of time in front of the castle, bypassed Rapunzel Tower, spent plenty of time at Haunted Mansion (favorite) and Pirates! More in the next few posts... Dreaming of the warm tropical breezes from our Polynesian balcony during our WDW honeymoon! 🤍🌴 • We decided to spend the week after our wedding on property to relax and enjoy the parks (& our favorite restaurants!) • It was fun to have a view of the Wedding Pavilion too! We were in the Fiji building, one of the original longhouses. The rooms were HUGE! We later watched other couples get married at the pavilion each day! Hair and Makeup 💄 • If you are getting married in WDW you MUST use @fairytalestacie! She and her team are a dream and work with you to get the perfect look. I don’t wear a lot of makeup and she made me feel so comfortable and beautiful. 🤍 You can book a hair and makeup trial before the wedding to test your looks. We did that during our pre-planning May trip. I also booked her team for the Magic Kingdom portrait session too! More on that in another post 😉.
