i was already having thoughts on a Delicious in Dungeon Trollhunters AU, but this new episode has me really pumped and with new ideas

Since you guys asked for it, here's a couple of the Defenders of Arcadia models as uploaded by their 3D modeller, Gary Sookdeo! At the time of typing only Jim and Toby are up though given Toby popped out of nowhere it's far from impossible others might too.

Rob Buchanan who also worked on the game has uploaded a few animation tests using the game rigs too. Because of how the videos are embed on artstation have to link them directly so they are Porgon Minion, a Goblin and Corgi Luug. Enjoy!

Wing au from that one prompt for the 5+ au headcanons?

this one right?

1. In terms of fastest flyers it was definitely Claire, Jim could maneuver the best, but Toby is the steadiest in the sky.

2. They definitely all had races and Mary always got snippy because she could never win no matter how hard she tried, or cheated.

3. Most people have wings, it’s not entirely uncommon to see someone without wings though, Steve is one of those outliers like his father, and Aja and Krel probably don’t have feathery wings, so their human appearances don’t have wings, they’d have the ones made of light like Skelos and Gaylen.

4. Jim’s wings became really weak after the Darklands, they’re like any other muscle and not using them after a few weeks really weakened them. So Jim spent a lot of season 2 grounded. And by season 3 he probably didn’t really have a lot of time to fly with all his Trollhunter duties.

5. I’d say all their wings have splashes of their primary colors, like Jim’s got some dark blue mixed in with his black, Claire had flits of purple, maybe white, Mary and Toby have the most vibrant colors, Orange and Red. Darci’s is probably a cool green.

6. After Claire loses her wings she absolutely hates having her back to people, or anyone behind her, she gets really jumpy if someone does manage to come up behind her. Even when the girls have sleepovers she has to be facing them. Jim takes notice and immediately tells Toby, Mary and Darci about it, they subtly start watching Claire’s back for her too, Mary goes a bit overboard sometimes, but it’s all in good conscience.

7. On sunny days they have picnics near the lookout, after the Eternal night, Jim likes to stay on the ground with Claire, even if she says otherwise, when the rest go flying, they’ll lay on the blankets and cloud watch it’s not exactly touching the sky anymore but close enough.

For the 5 head canons, maybe the httyd au?

1. Aja’s absolutely the best warrior in training in Arcadia, there’s no debate, she’s been joining the dragon hunts since she was nine. Her brother however, isn’t, Krel and Eli work in the main forge, neither big on fighting fire breathing beasts and that’s completely okay. They’re too busy tinkering with machines and ballistas.

2. Arcadia is run by a collective council, while Aja and Krel’s parents are the highest seats, most members agree that dragon hunting is necessity to keep their home safe.

3. Saffron and Shadowdancer get along great, just like their riders, they work in sync together on missions and Claire taught Jim how to work Shadowdancers riggings so if anything ever happened he knows how to fly.

4. Varvatos runs the dragon school circuit, and most of the kids are involved, there are other positions that don’t require being on the front lines so it’s not always about blades and battles. But those that are steadfast in becoming warriors do fight dragons, it comes down to Aja and Claire in the finals.

5. After Shadowdancer is captured and forced to lead the warriors to the Red Death’s island Toby tames a Quaken, Mary, to everyone’s horror tames a Death song that had been locked deep in the dungeons, Darci shows kindness to a war battered Goregutter and gains its eternal loyalty, it’s secretly a big softie. And Barbara absolutely tames a Rumblehorn.

6. Claire really struggles after the battle with the Red Death, things are better in Arcadia but she hates she can’t fly with Shadowdancer or that she still can’t get the hang of maneuvering with crutches until her leg heals enough to get it fitted for some sort of prosthesis.

7. Gunmar is the first real dragon hunter they meet, a brutal, cold warlord from the south wanting every dragon under his heel, Jim and Darci go to negotiate with him in hopes of peace, after they’re refused Claire and Shadowdancer immediately take out more than half of the fleet he brought with him, solidifying there will be no surrender from Arcadia.

For the 'fic I'll never write' prompt- title 'i looked down into the depths (when i met you)' aaaaand how about the reckless five (Jim/Toby/Claire/Mary/Darci; i know they're not really a pairing but i LOVE how you write them interacting so you know i had to)?

The world has been off kilter for a while Mary supposes but they’re together in the ways that matter, even if the nights feel longer. Away from the howling, screeching creatures turned to stone with gnashing teeth.

She wishes they’d been like those cheesy zombie movies instead, they’re not. If only two of them hadn’t been so stupidly heroic. Darci and Toby watch from the porch every morning, in the creaking swing when sunlight hasn’t graced them yet.

From this distance their eyes, forever trapped inside bodies that don’t match, almost look like how Mary imagines and remembers them.

Toby wants to follow Jim, he does, to trust his boyfriend wholeheartedly who stands at the lip of the cave with an adventurous smile, hand extended, encouraging him forward. But this place is wrong in ways he can’t describe, the stories could be myths, harrowing tales of portals to hell itself, lost cavers, people gone from sight.

He comes to unfortunately realize the stories…were not stories at all.
