Are These Dogs Or The Cutest Humans Ever? Either Way, You'll Love Them.
For some dogs, a life of naps, eating, and more naps simply isn’t exciting enough to make them feel like they’re making the most of their time on earth. No, these dogs have greater plans for themselves. They want to do the boring things we humans do on a regular basis. Stuff like reading, driving, and dressing our pets up like people. (Yawn.)
At least when they do it it’s interesting. Take a look!

21 Cats That Just Can't Let Dogs Be Happy - http://werecommend.xyz/21-cats-that-just-cant-let-dogs-be-happy/

21 Cats That Just Can't Let Dogs Be Happy
Though I am very fond of my cats, I will be the first to admit that they can be extremely rude.
Not only do they whip out their claws and sink them into me whenever they feel like it, but they love taking their frustrations out on my poor, innocent dogs. Even though they’re the best of friends, my kitties always have to make it clear who’s really in charge.
The cats below feel the same need, too, because they can’t stop themselves from being complete jerks to the dogs they share homes with.
1. I hate to break it to you, buddy, but you’re never getting that bed back.
Reddit / liveleigh
2. What did he ever do to you?
3. Their faces say it all.
Reddit / hairy-chinese-kid
4. “This is MY territory, puny dog.”
5. This poor pup never had a chance.
6. That is one ruthless kitty.
7. Just let the poor guy sleep!
8. Really, you’re going to humiliate him even more?
Reddit / freudian_nipple_slip
9. “My face is not your plaything, you jerk.”
10. Roombas are so convenient for terrorizing the dog.
11. “Do something, hooman!”
Reddit / ConorN93
12. It’s crazy how such a tiny thing has so much power.
Reddit / Lucyxwolf
13. That was completely uncalled for.
14. “Don’t ever look at me again.”
15. To be fair, the dog kind of started it.
16. “How dare you sleep in my presence!”
17. “Oh, you want dis? NOPE!”
18. Ouch.
Reddit / Your_Gonna_Hate_This
19. “Okay, this isn’t fun anymore.”
Reddit / 1Voice1Life
20. Stolen beds are so much comfier.
Reddit / the_leaky_spigot
21. “Revenge WILL be had, cat.”
Reddit / porkchopsnapplesauce
(via BoredPanda)
After all of that rudeness, I’m only left with one question.

20+ Quirks Americans Don’t Realize Are Super Weird - http://werecommend.xyz/20-quirks-americans-dont-realize-are-super-weird/

20+ Quirks Americans Don’t Realize Are Super Weird
1. Restaurants that serve ice in your water no matter the weather.
Source: Joris
Hot, cold, it doesn’t matter! But really, when there are more ice cubes in the glass than actual water, you start to question the rationale behind it all.
2. Air conditioning. Everywhere. All the time.
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer / Via vodana.org
In the summer, you go from a sweltering 103 degrees outside to an eyelash-icicle–inducing -17 in the supermarkets.
3. The nightmare that is tipping.
Warner Bros. Pictures / Via Twitter: @TheGum25
So you’re telling me that you have to leave a tip even if the service was mediocre, and then you also have to calculate said tip between 10 and 20% of the bill’s total to figure out how much you’re expected to leave??
Nope.
4. The ungodly portion sizes at restaurants.
Ordering a large with @Cookie_133 may have been a mistake… #nypizza #americanportions pic.twitter.com/9reVZLKgRh
— Jack Stewardson (@AWellArmedMonk) January 15, 2015
One American meal is enough to feed a whole French family for a week.
5. The waiters who come back to check on you every three minutes.
Waiter: is everything ok with your food? Me: pic.twitter.com/uyONBetSgQ
— Tom Eaton (@DorkyUdon) April 12, 2015
If it wasn’t okay, we would say something!
ABC Family / Via helloqing.blogspot.com
Why not just leave a jug of water on the table? Everybody’s lives would be a whole lot easier. We can serve ourselves!
6. This travesty they have the audacity to call “French bread.”
#hot #french #bread lol I baked it myself #Safeway pic.twitter.com/pZSvFktmKR

7. Pharmacies that also sell candy, soda, cigarettes, beer….

8. The size of the cars.

9. Three-liter wine bottles.
hahaha more wine, 2 three liter bottles and 1 six liter bottle #WineFreaks pic.twitter.com/EA03En9Hzj
— Zach Dixon (@zachdixon_) March 2, 2014
10. Being asked for your ID when you enter a bar or buy a beer, even though you are clearly over 30 years old.
HE'S A BIG BOY NOW!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THIS AMAZING GUY RIGHT HERE!!! 😎😆🎁🎉🎊🎈#movienightpartner #firsttime #gettingcarded #21 #mcm #studmuffin #beachday

12. The currency all looks the same.
#Carven #LaRedoute #Moscow #Zurich #artcollective #dollars #followmyjourney #followmyartlife #likemylifestyle

13. TV shows with commercial breaks that last longer than some scenes.

On American TV, a 40-minute episode actually lasts an hour with all the commercials. That’s 20 minutes of my life I’ll never get back…
14. Being able to use your debit card without entering your PIN, just with your signature.

17. Stores and restaurants that are open 24/7.

18. People who fill your bags at the supermarket.
The CW / Via ukmix.org
19. When someone says “how are you?” but they really mean “hello” and actually DGAF how you are.

20. Deep-fried food covered with sauces galore.

21. People who drink their coffee while walking.

People Think Trump’s Feuding With "Hamilton" To Distract You From This Other Stuff
Mike Pence attended a Broadway performance of Hamilton Friday night, and was met with widespread boos from the audience. Afterwards, a member of the cast spoke directly to Pence from the stage.
Tonight, VP-Elect Mike Pence attended #HamiltonBway. After the show, @BrandonVDixon delivered the following statement on behalf of the show. pic.twitter.com/Jsg9Q1pMZs
— Hamilton (@HamiltonMusical) November 19, 2016
“We, sir — we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us,” said actor Brandon Victor Dixon, who plays Aaron Burr.
“We truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us,” Dixon said. “This is one American story told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds, and orientations.”
The audience broke into applause following the speech.
On Saturday morning, Donald Trump responded on Twitter, saying the vice president-elect was “harassed” by the cast of Hamilton and demanding an apology:
Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 19, 2016
Dixon, who gave the speech, responded to Trump, saying “conversation is not harassment,” and expressed appreciation that Pence listened.
@realDonaldTrump conversation is not harassment sir. And I appreciate @mike_pence for stopping to listen.
— Brandon Victor Dixon (@BrandonVDixon) November 19, 2016
Lin-Manuel Miranda, the show’s creator and original star, said he was proud of Dixon and the cast “for leading with love.”
Proud of @HamiltonMusical. Proud of @BrandonVDixon, for leading with love. And proud to remind you that ALL are welcome at the theater.
— Lin-Manuel Miranda (@Lin_Manuel) November 19, 2016
He also said he was “proud to remind you that ALL are welcome at the theater.”
And Javier Muñoz, the show’s current lead, retweeted a fan’s tweet to Pence that Muñoz is a “proud, gay, HIV+ man.”
LIVE YOUR TRUTH! OWN YOUR POWER & STRENGTH! NEVER LET ANYONE MAKE YOU FEEL SMALL! I LOVE YOU❤️😘❤️😘❤️😘 pic.twitter.com/gzqBSd2Ppl
— Javier Muñoz (@JMunozActor) November 19, 2016
Christopher Jackson, who played George Washington, said the cast makes him “so very proud.”
Proud of my @HamiltonMusical peeps. Y'all make me So Very proud.
— Christopher Jackson (@ChrisisSingin) November 19, 2016
In response to widespread criticism of the booing, Josh Gad, former star of Book of Mormon, said “this is what happens when you run on a platform of hate.”
As a member of the theater community, I have a message I feel compelled to share re: @HamiltonMusical pic.twitter.com/dhax0BEXjY
— Josh Gad (@joshgad) November 19, 2016
In a separate tweet demanding an apology, Trump also said the theater should “always be a safe and special place.”
The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 19, 2016
Hours later, Trump continued to tweet about the incident calling it “very rude and insulting.” He deleted the tweet minutes later.
Twitter / Via Twitter: @realdonaldtrump
Many have been mocking this sentiment, comparing it to frequent condemnation of “safe spaces” by conservatives.
Look at these pathetic snowflakes with their demands for safe spaces. https://t.co/X3EXvjS6c3
— Owen Jones (@OwenJones84) November 19, 2016
Donald Trump asking for safe spaces because Mike Pence got booed is the most meta thing yet. https://t.co/I7jLm1YMIX
— Arnessa (@Rrrrnessa) November 19, 2016
Trump and Pence want safe spaces. Need those adult coloring books at Trump Tower asap. https://t.co/juf9IHfiHw
— Jon Lovett (@jonlovett) November 19, 2016
But other people said the entire feud was a classic Trump move to distract people from bigger concerns, such as the $25 million settlement of the Trump University case and Ivanka Trump, who may soon be running his businesses, sitting in on a meeting with the Japanese prime minister.
I settled the Trump University lawsuit for a small fraction of the potential award because as President I have to focus on our country.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 19, 2016

Mike Pence took a break from government transition work Friday night to attend a Broadway performance of Hamilton, but the musical ended with the cast directly addressing the vice president-elect and asking him to “work on behalf of all of us.”
It seemed to be a tense outing from the get-go for the Indiana governor, who received a tepid welcome at the New York theater where witnesses said Pence was booed as he entered and walked toward his seat.
Then at the close of the musical, with the entire cast assembled on stage, Pence was addressed directly by a member of the cast.
“This is one American story told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds and orientations.”
The audience erupted in cheers after Dixon spoke to the vice president-elect.

It was unclear if Pence caught most of the statement. The Associated Press reported he ducked out before the address and Dixon, as he began, noted that the president-elect was already walking out. “I hope you will hear just a few more moments,” he said.
A show spokesperson, however, told the New York Times that Pence stood in the hallway outside the theatre entrance and heard the speech.
On Saturday morning, Donald Trump himself had heard of the drama, tweeting criticism of the cast and demanding they apologize:
Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 19, 2016
The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 19, 2016
Dixon, the actor who spoke to Pence from the stage, then respond to Trump on Twitter:
@realDonaldTrump conversation is not harassment sir. And I appreciate @mike_pence for stopping to listen.
— Brandon Victor Dixon (@BrandonVDixon) November 19, 2016
Hours later, Trump continued to tweet about the incident and called the cast “rude and insulting” although he deleted it minutes later.
Twitter / Via Twitter: @realdonaldtrump
Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s former campaign manager, also criticized the cast’s actions, as did former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich:
This is so true. And @mike_pence deserves respect and a peaceful night out with his nephew and daughter. #yourvicepresident https://t.co/h38lcamWLg
— Kellyanne Conway (@KellyannePolls) November 19, 2016
The arrogance and hostility of the Hamilton cast to the Vice President elect ( a guest at the theater) is a reminder the left still fights.
— Newt Gingrich (@newtgingrich) November 19, 2016
Some people in the audience also speculated that lyrics of the musical appeared to be sung directly at Pence, a question that seemed to be answered once the cast addressed Trump’s running mate at the end of the performance.
The New York Times reported that the director, producer, and cast of the musical decided to write a statement to the vice president-elect once they learned he would be attending.
The show’s Pulitzer Prize-winning creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, said he was proud of the cast’s actions:
Proud of @HamiltonMusical. Proud of @BrandonVDixon, for leading with love. And proud to remind you that ALL are welcome at the theater.
— Lin-Manuel Miranda (@Lin_Manuel) November 19, 2016
The Secret Service motorcade was the first hint someone from the Trump campaign might be headed to see Hamilton Friday night.

Once inside, video captured in the theater showed the vice president-elect greeted with a series of applause and distinct boos.

— David K (@dkipke12) November 19, 2016
Several people in the audience tweeted pictures of Pence and his security team taking a seat.
One witness called it an “unreal scene.”

At #Hamilton. Mike Pence is here and the entire theater just booed him.
— Shannon (@TheStagmania) November 19, 2016
The awkwardness didn’t stop there.
The jeering and cheering continued and apparently reached a pitch when actor Rory O’Malley, an out gay man who plays King George in the musical, sang the lyrics to a reprise of “You’ll Be Back”
During "You'll Be Back (Reprise)" they had to keep pausing the song while people jeered Pence on every line. https://t.co/ZSIG7qnfiM
— Shannon (@TheStagmania) November 19, 2016
The song includes the lyrics:
“Oceans rise Empires fall It’s much harder when it’s your call All alone, across the sea When your people say they hate you Don’t come crawling back to me”
A Broadway show that focuses in significant part on Alexander Hamilton’s immigrant experience was an unexpected choice of entertainment for the conservative vice president-elect.
In March 2015, Pence signed Indiana’s Indiana’s Religious Freedom Law, which opponents and businesses criticized as allowing discrimination against LGBT people. The outcry — which went national — led to a revision to protect against discrimination, which Pence also signed.
Later in 2015, Pence was one of many governors who opposed Syrian refugees coming into his state. This past month, a federal appeals court slammed Pence for actions he took in support of that opposition.
Dixon’s statement might have struck a personal chord for the diverse cast, whose main character — previously played by Lin-Manuel Miranda — is now being played by Javier Muñoz, an HIV-positive, out gay man from a Puerto Rican family.
But the play also strikes on other issues that have been targeted by the Trump campaign, such as immigration, with Hamilton often highlighting his rich immigrant background.
According to audience members, one of the show’s lines was greeted with particularly loud applause and cheers Friday: “Immigrants, we get the job done!”
I'm at #Hamilton and so is Mike Pence. Crowd booed him like crazy, and gave a standing O at the line "immigrants we get the job done" 1/2

Trump Takes Credit For Keeping Ford Factory In US, But It Was Never Moving To Mexico - http://werecommend.xyz/trump-takes-credit-for-keeping-ford-factory-in-us-but-it-was-never-moving-to-mexico/

Trump Takes Credit For Keeping Ford Factory In US, But It Was Never Moving To Mexico
Brian Bohannon / AP
President-elect Donald Trump took credit Thursday for keeping a Ford auto factory in Kentucky from moving to Mexico, but the automaker did not have any plans of shuttering the plant.
Trump made the announcement on Twitter Thursday night, saying he received a call from Ford Chairman Bill Ford about keeping the plant in Kentucky, insinuating there were plans to move it to Mexico.
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/799432403727028224
Trump followed up about 15 minutes later saying he “worked hard with Bill Ford to keep the Lincoln plant in Kentucky.”
However, a contract that was signed between Ford and the United Auto Workers union would have prevented Ford from closing the plant, Reuters reported.
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/799435824622252032
In a statement, Ford confirmed it was looking at plans to move production of the Lincoln MKC vehicle out of the Kentucky plant, per a contract signed with the UAW in 2015.
However, the plant — which also produces the Ford Escape — would not have lost any jobs, UAW Vice President Jimmy Settles told the Courier Journal.
The paper also reported the production of the MKC was likely to move to Chicago, not Mexico.
“We have shared our commitment to continue investing in the U.S. and creating American jobs — building on the $12 billion we have invested in our U.S. plants and the nearly 28,000 U.S. jobs Ford has created in the past five years,” Ford said in a statement.
The company said it “confirmed” to the president-elect the Lincoln vehicle would continue to be made in Louisville.
“We are encouraged that President-elect Trump and the new Congress will pursue policies that will improve U.S. competitiveness and make it possible to keep production of this vehicle here in the United States,” the statement read.
Ford has said it plans to shift small-car production to Mexico, but that no plants would be closed in the US as a result.

President-Elect Donald Trump on Friday is expected to nominate US Senator from Alabama Jeff Sessions to the attorney general post in his cabinet, according to CBS News.
He is also expected to nominate Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo to the top CIA post, the Associated Press and other news outlets reported. Pompeo reportedly accepted the nomination, NBC News reported.
Both nominees will need to be confirmed by the Senate.
Trump met with Sessions, a Republican, at Trump Tower in New York City on Thursday, and was pleased with his past experience, according to a statement from his transition team.
“While nothing has been finalized and he is still talking with others as he forms his cabinet, the President-elect has been unbelievably impressed with Senator Sessions and his phenomenal record as Alabama’s Attorney General and US Attorney,” the statement read.
“It is no wonder the people of Alabama re-elected him without opposition.”
Mike Pompeo Jacquelyn Martin / AP
Pompeo, who is a three-term Kansas representative, is one of the most vocal critics of the Obama administration’s deal with Iran that eased oil and financial sanctions on the country in exchange for dismantling large portions of its nuclear program.
He also served on the House Select Benghazi Committee where he wrote additional reports on Hillary Clinton, criticizing her actions as Secretary of State during the 2012 attack in Libya that killed four Americans.
“Before, during and after the attacks of September 11, 2012 in Benghazi, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton put politics ahead of people, pulling out all the stops to cover up the fact that she didn’t act when American lives were on the line,” Pompeo wrotein his report.
After the Boston Marathon bombing, Pompeo blamed Islamic leaders in the US for not condemning acts of terrorism in the country and for being “potentially complicit” in those acts.
California Representative Adam Schiff, a ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, congratulated Pompeo on his nomination.
“Mike is very bright and hard-working and will devote himself to helping the Agency develop the best possible intelligence for policy makers,” Schiff said in a statement sent to BuzzFeed News.
“While we have had our share of strong differences – principally on the politicization of the tragedy in Benghazi – I know that he is someone who is willing to listen and engage, both key qualities in a CIA Director,” he added.
Sessions, who was among the first US senators to endorse the president-elect, served as Alabama attorney general in 1994 and was elected to the US Senate in 1996.
In 1986, when he was a US attorney, Sessions ran for a federal judge position but was ultimately rejected after employees and other colleagues alleged that he had made racist statements about civil rights groups.
Thomas Figures, who at the time worked in Sessions’ office, testified at one of the 1986 Senate Judiciary Committee hearings that Sessions had called organizations like the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) “un-American.”
Figures, who is black, also said that Sessions had called him “boy” on multiple occasions, and made jokes about the Ku Klux Klan.
He said that he did not come forward about Sessions’ statements earlier because he feared retaliation.
“I felt that if I had said anything or reacted in a manner in which I thought appropriate, I thought I would be fired,” he said at the hearing, according to CNN.
Sessions denied the allegations, but the Senate Judiciary Committee ultimately voted against his appointment, 10-8.
On Thursday, it was reported that Trump had offered the role of National Security Adviser to Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn. Flynn had advised Trump through his campaign and was once considered a potential running mate.

Viral Fake Election News Outperformed Real News On Facebook In Final Months Of The US Election - http://werecommend.xyz/viral-fake-election-news-outperformed-real-news-on-facebook-in-final-months-of-the-us-election/

Viral Fake Election News Outperformed Real News On Facebook In Final Months Of The US Election
BuzzFeed / Getty Images
In the final three months of the US presidential campaign, the top-performing fake election news stories on Facebook generated more engagement than the top stories from major news outlets such as the New York Times, Washington Post, Huffington Post, NBC News, and others, a BuzzFeed News analysis has found.
During these critical months of the campaign, 20 top-performing false election stories from hoax sites and hyperpartisan blogs generated 8,711,000 shares, reactions, and comments on Facebook.
Within the same time period, the 20 best-performing election stories from 19 major news websites generated a total of 7,367,000 shares, reactions, and comments on Facebook. (This analysis focused on the top performing link posts for both groups of publishers, and not on total site engagement on Facebook. For details on how we identified and analyzed the content, see the bottom of this post. View our data here.)
Up until those last three months of the campaign, the top election content from major outlets had easily outpaced that of fake election news on Facebook. Then, as the election drew closer, engagement for fake content on Facebook skyrocketed and surpassed that of the content from major news outlets.
BuzzFeed News
“I’m troubled that Facebook is doing so little to combat fake news,” said Brendan Nyhan, a professor of political science at Dartmouth College who researches political misinformation and fact-checking. “Even if they did not swing the election, the evidence is clear that bogus stories have incredible reach on the network. Facebook should be fighting misinformation, not amplifying it.”
A Facebook spokesman told BuzzFeed News that the top stories don’t reflect overall engagement on the platform.
“There is a long tail of stories on Facebook,” the spokesman said. “It may seem like the top stories get a lot of traction, but they represent a tiny fraction of the total.”
He also said that native video, live content, and image posts from major news outlets saw significant engagement on Facebook.
Of the 20 top-performing false election stories identified in the analysis, all but three were overtly pro-Donald Trump or anti-Hillary Clinton. Two of the biggest false hits were a story claiming Clinton sold weapons to ISIS and a hoax claiming the pope endorsed Trump, which the site removed after publication of this article. The only viral false stories during the final three months that were arguably against Trump’s interests were a false quote from Mike Pence about Michelle Obama, a false reportthat Ireland was accepting American “refugees” fleeing Trump, and a hoax claimingRuPaul said he was groped by Trump.
BuzzFeed News
BuzzFeed News
This new data illustrates the power of fake election news on Facebook, and comes as the social network deals with criticism that it allowed false content to run rampant during the 2016 presidential campaign. CEO Mark Zuckerberg said recently it was “a pretty crazy idea” to suggest that fake news on Facebook helped sway the election. He later published a post saying, “We have already launched work enabling our community to flag hoaxes and fake news, and there is more we can do here.”
This week BuzzFeed News reported that a group of Facebook employees have formed a task force to tackle the issue, with one saying that “fake news ran wild on our platform during the entire campaign season.” The Wall Street Journal also reported that Google would begin barring fake news websites from its AdSense advertising program. Facebook soon followed suit.
These developments follow a study by BuzzFeed News that revealed hyperpartisan Facebook pages and their websites were publishing false or misleading content at an alarming rate — and generating significant Facebook engagement in the process. The same was true for the more than 100 US politics websites BuzzFeed News found being run out of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
This new analysis of election content found two false election stories from a Macedonian sites that made the top-10 list in terms of Facebook engagement int he final three months. Conservative State published a story that falsely quoted Hillary Clinton as saying, “I would like to see people like Donald Trump run for office; they’re honest and can’t be bought.” The story generated over 481,000 engagements on Facebook. A second false story from a Macedonia site falsely claimed that Clinton was about to be indicted. It received 149,000 engagements on Facebook.
All the false news stories identified in BuzzFeed News’ analysis came from either fake news websites that only publish hoaxes or from hyperpartisan websites that present themselves as publishing real news. The research turned up only one viral false election story from a hyperpartisan left-wing site. The story from Winning Democratsclaimed Ireland was accepting anti-Trump “refugees” from the US. It received over 810,000 Facebook engagements, and was debunked by an Irish publication. (There was also one post from an LGBTQ site that used a false quote from Trump in its headline.)
The other false viral election stories from hyperpartisan sites came from right-wing publishers, according to the analysis.
Ending the Fed
One example is the remarkably successful, utterly untrustworthy site Ending the Fed. It was responsible for four of the top 10 false election stories identified in the analysis: Pope Francis endorsing Donald Trump, Hilary Clinton selling weapons to ISIS, Hillary Clinton being disqualified from holding federal office, and the FBI director receiving millions from the Clinton Foundation. These four stories racked up a total of roughly 2,953,000 Facebook engagements in the three months leading up to Election Day.
Ending the Fed gained notoriety in August when Facebook promoted its story about Megyn Kelly being fired by Fox News as a top trending item. The strong engagement the site has seen on Facebook may help explain how one of its stories was featured in the Trending box.
The site, which does not publicly list an owner or editor, did not respond to a request for comment from BuzzFeed News.
Like several other hyperpartisan right-wing sites that scored big Facebook hits this election season, Ending the Fed is a relatively new website. The domain endingthefed.com was only registered in in March. Yet according to BuzzFeed News’ analysis, its top election content received more Facebook engagement than stories from the Washington Post and New York Times. For example, the top four election stories from the Post generated roughly 2,774,000 Facebook engagements — nearly 180,000 fewer than Ending the Fed’s top four false posts.
A look at Ending the Fed’s traffic chart from Alexa also gives an indication of the massive growth it experienced as the election drew close:
Alexa / Via alexa.com
A similar spike occurred for Conservative State, a site that was only registered in September. It saw a remarkable traffic spike almost instantly:
Alexa / Via alexa.com
Alexa estimates that nearly 30% of Conservative State’s traffic comes from Facebook, with 10% coming from Google.
Along with unreliable hyperpartisan blogs, fake news sites also received a big election traffic bump in line with their Facebook success. The Burrard Street Journalscored nearly 380,000 Facebook engagements for a fake story about Obama saying he will not leave office if Trump is elected. It was published in September, right around the time Alexa notched a noticeable uptick in its traffic:
Alexa / Via alexa.com
That site was only registered in April of this year. Its publisher disputes the idea that its content is aimed at misleading readers. “The BS Journal is a satire news publication and makes absolutely no secret of that or any attempt to purposely mislead our readers,” he told BuzzFeed News.
Large news sites also generated strong Facebook engagement for links to their election stories. But to truly find the biggest election hits from these 19 major sites, it’s necessary to go back to early 2016.
The three biggest election hits for these outlets came back in February, led by a contributor post on the Huffington Post’s blog about Donald Trump that received 2,200,000 engagements on Facebook. The top-performing election news story on Facebook for the 19 outlets analyzed was also published that month by CBS News. It generated an impressive 1.7 million shares, engagements, and comments on Facebook. Overall, a significant number of the top-performing posts on Facebook from major outlets were opinion pieces, rather than news stories.
The biggest mainstream hit in the three months prior to the election came from the Washington Post and had 876,000 engagements. Yet somehow Ending the Fed — a site launched just months earlier with no history on Facebook and likely a very small group of people running it — managed to get more engagement for a false storyduring that same period.
“People know there are concerned employees who are seeing something here which they consider a big problem,” a Facebook manager told BuzzFeed News this week. “And it doesn’t feel like the people making decisions are taking the concerns seriously.”
How We Gathered the Data
BuzzFeed News used the content analysis tool BuzzSumo, which enables users to search for content by keyword, URL, time range, and social share counts. BuzzFeed News searched in BuzzSumo using keywords such as “Hillary Clinton” and “Donald Trump,” as well as combinations such as “Trump and election” or “Clinton and emails” to see the top stories about these topics according to Facebook engagement. We also searched for known viral lies such as “Soros and voting machine.”
In addition, created lists of the URLs of known fake news websites, of hyperpartisan sites on the right and on the left, and of the more than 100 pro-Trump sites run from Macedonia that were previously identified in BuzzFeed News reporting. We then looked for the top performing content on Facebook across all of these sites to find false stories about the election.
We conducted our searches in three-month segments beginning 9 months from election day. This broke down as February to April, May to July, and August to election day.
Even with the above approaches, it’s entirely possible that we missed other big hits from fake news websites and hyperpartisan blogs.
To examine the performance of election content from mainstream sites, we created a list that included the websites of the New York Times, Washington Post, NBC News, USA Today, Politico, CNN, Wall Street Journal, CBS News, ABC News, New York Daily News, New York Post, BuzzFeed, Los Angeles Times, NPR, The Guardian, Vox, Business Insider, Huffington Post, and Fox News. We then searched for their top-performing election content in the same three-month segments as above.
It’s important to note that Facebook engagement does not necessarily translate into traffic. This analysis was focused on how the best-performing fake news about the election compared with real news from major outlets on Facebook. It’s entirely possible — and likely — that the mainstream sites received more traffic to their top-performing Facebook content than the fake news sites did. As as the Facebook spokesman noted, large news sites overall see more engagement on Facebook than fake news sites.

Trump’s Revenge - http://werecommend.xyz/trumps-revenge/
New Post has been published on http://werecommend.xyz/trumps-revenge/
Trump’s Revenge
They laughed at him. They taunted him. They snubbed him and sneered at him. And then, in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, he won.
Taking the stage at the New York Hilton ballroom just before 3:00 a.m., President-elect Donald Trump squinted reverently out on a sea of suit coats and red caps, the very model of grace in victory. “For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people,” he said, “I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help, so that we can work together and unify our great country.”
But the brief moment of magnanimity belied the more personal — and visceral — triumph Trump was celebrating that night: the ultimate humiliation of his haters.
Indeed, from the madcap launch of his improbable presidential bid to the mad-dash sprint in his final days, Trump’s campaign was a vehicle powered by personal grievance — a score-settling crusade against the politicos who’d shunned him, the business rivals who’d dismissed him, and the media elite who’d mocked him. A Queens-born billionaire who had long burned with resentment for the Manhattanites who treated him like a nouveau-riche rube, Trump was able to marshall millions this year in his scorched-earth revenge march toward the White House. When it was over, the totality of his payback was undeniable: his doubters were disgraced, his loyalists were vindicated, and Trump himself had won access to the the most exclusive club in American history.
But what if all that isn’t enough?
“The interesting psychodrama that I think rattles around inside Donald’s head is that he ultimately despises the establishment, yet desperately wants to be courted and approved by it,” said Trump biographer Timothy O’Brien. And no singular moment of validation — not even winning the presidency — will sate his bottomless need for retribution against critics and enemies.
“He’s just that insecure,” said O’Brien. “And that’s never going to change.”
Christopher Gregory / Getty Images
From the very beginning of Trump’s campaign, the stated strategy was to win over aggrieved voters by railing against the key institutions of American life. In a series of early internal memos obtained by BuzzFeed News, the rationale for Trump’s candidacy was laid out in blunt terms: “The voters are in an angry mood and they completely distrust politicians, congress, the media, and other institutions.” Trump was viewed as “incorruptible because of his personal wealth,” and therefore the only candidate willing to “take on the entire system.”
“It is very important that Trump continue to say that the system is broken, that the system is rigged against the citizens,” an adviser wrote in one 2015 memo. In another, an aide succinctly summed up Trump’s message as “us vs. them.”
In a quaint bit of early advice for the trash-talking candidate, a consultant suggested in a memo, “Instead of attacking any individual opponent, I recommend that you attack them as a class — ‘career politicians.’” Instead, of course, Trump spent the next year lashing out at his rivals by name, often in the most bitterly personal and incendiary terms possible.
When Sen. Lindsey Graham called him a “jackass,” for example, Trump responded by reading out the senator’s personal cell phone number at a campaign rally. When Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren needled him on Twitter, Trump took to calling her “Pocahontas” — a reference to her family’s claim of Native American ancestry — and egged on his gleeful crowds as they responded with faux-Indian war chants. The opponents that most got under Trump’s skin were branded with taunting nicknames: “Low-energy Jeb” Bush, “Liddle Marco” Rubio, “Lyin’ Ted” Cruz, “Crazy Megyn” Kelly.
Shortly after entering the race, Trump faced a firestorm of criticism after attacking Sen. John McCain’s record as a P.O.W. “He’s not a war hero,” Trump said. “He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.” Pundits pounced, Republicans piled on, and Trump refused to apologize. But even as he oozed pure bravado on the campaign trail, he privately obsessed over how the dig was playing with the insiders on cable news. According to Sam Nunberg, a former Trump adviser who was later fired, the candidate called him one day in the pre-dawn hours, fretting about whether he should make amends with McCain. Trump had woken early to watch TV coverage of the controversy, and was increasingly anxious about the dire pundit chatter. Nunberg advised him to stay defiant — and when the dust had settled, Trump’s supporters remained.
It was a pattern that persisted throughout the election, as Trump channeled his own strange form of status anxiety and class warfare into a world-stunning political movement. The enemies he compulsively railed against — from politicians, to journalists, to financial titans — were the same people that Trump’s base felt most victimized by. As long as he kept his sights trained on those targets, even the most petty insults flung from the stump became boons to candidacy.
Of course, Trump wasn’t always so calculating in the way he meted out retribution. He liked to say that he was a “counterpuncher” — that he only lashed out when he was attacked. But he seemed to make no distinction between a primary opponent on a debate stage and a private citizen who opposed his candidacy. When a Muslim Gold Star Family spoke out at the Democratic National Convention against Trump’s treatment of their faith, he spent days feuding with them. And when a former Miss Universe contestant appeared in a Clinton ad chronicling Trump’s demeaning treatment of her, he responded by doubling down on his complaints about her weight. There was no political calculus driving these episodes — in both cases, they sent his poll numbers spiraling — but Trump felt he had been treated unfairly, and he couldn’t help but hit back.
In the end, Trump’s most satisfying victory might be his humiliation of a media establishment that thoroughly underestimated him at every turn. While Republicans have complained of press bias for decades, Trump treated journalists like enemy insurgents to be distrusted and destroyed. At his rallies, he kept reporters confined to gated pens in the back, and led his crowds in a ritual booing of the “dishonest media.” Often, he arrived at the podium infuriated by a cable news segment he had just watched on his plane, and kicked off his remarks with barbed criticism of the coverage.
Some in the political media responded to these attacks with a certain measure of glee. When the conservative National Review published a special issue titled “Against Trump” shortly before the Iowa caucuses, the candidate spent a week assailing the magazine from the stump as a “failing publication that has lots its way.” Editor Rich Lowry was said Trump’s eruption came as no surprise. “He does this thing with people where he’ll attack you really harshly and say you’re stupid or a loser, and then if you say anything favorable about him, he’ll praise you to the hilt.” Lowry recalled sitting in his living room one night shortly after the issue came out, excitedly monitoring coverage of the fallout on Twitter and TV. “Like any journalist, when you target someone and he or she takes real umbrage, you’re happy.”
Of course, it was Trump who ultimately got the last laugh, and the day after the election, the National Review — the self-proclaimed guardian of the conservative movement — was forced to run an editorial congratulating a politically promiscuous president-elect with authoritarian flirtations. “We hope he now proves us doubters wrong,” the editors wrote.
Simon Maina / AFP / Getty Images
While the tone of Trump’s victory speech was conciliatory, the mood at his election night party was decidedly not. VIP supporters in suits and high heels broke out in chants of “LOCK HER UP!” as they watched the returns come in on Fox News. High-level surrogates who had spent the past year being ridiculed for their support of Trump — from Rudy Giuliani to Jerry Falwell Jr. — roamed the electric ballroom holding boastful, told-you-so press gaggles. Minutes before the candidate took the stage, Sean Spicer, the chief strategist for the Republican National Committee and one of Trump’s most rabid defenders, approached me and demand that my colleagues and I “eat crow.”
Their inclination to gloat was, perhaps, understandable. But within 24 hours — as tens of thousand of anti-Trump protesters began pouring into city streets across a raggedly divided country — a more urgent question came to the surface: How will the president-elect respond?
On Thursday night, he answered with a tweet: “Just had a very open and successful presidential election. Now professional protesters, incited by the media, are protesting. Very unfair!”

Robert De Niro responds to Trump win: 'I feel like I did after 9/11' - http://werecommend.xyz/robert-de-niro-responds-to-trump-win-i-feel-like-i-did-after-911/
New Post has been published on http://werecommend.xyz/robert-de-niro-responds-to-trump-win-i-feel-like-i-did-after-911/
Robert De Niro responds to Trump win: 'I feel like I did after 9/11'
Robert De Niro has not had a change of heart about Donald Trump since the businessman and former reality TV star became president-elect.
In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the actor said of Trump’s victory, “I feel like I did after 9/11.” He added, “We’ll just see what happens. There will be many, many, many, many, many people watching.”
De Niro has long been critical of Trump’s political aspirations. Back in 2011, he likened Trump to a car salesman with “a big hustle,” and in August he described Trump as “totally nuts” and unfit to lead America.
Last month, an outtake from a celebrity endorsement video emerged showing De Niro going off on Trump, calling him “blatantly stupid,” “a punk,” “a dog,” “a pig,” “a con,” and “a bulls‑‑‑ artist,” among other things. He also said he’d “like to punch [Trump] in the face.”
On Wednesday night, however, De Niro admitted to Jimmy Kimmel that last wish probably won’t come true.
“I can’t do that now — he’s the president,” De Niro said in a late-night appearance. “And I have to respect that position, even though we all know what he, anyway. We have to see what he’s gonna do, and how he’s really gonna follow through on certain things. As we even see now, in a lot of cities, a lot of people are getting very upset and protesting.”

22 Things You’re Doing Wrong Without Realizing It - http://werecommend.xyz/22-things-youre-doing-wrong-without-realizing-it/
New Post has been published on http://werecommend.xyz/22-things-youre-doing-wrong-without-realizing-it/
22 Things You’re Doing Wrong Without Realizing It
1. You unload canned drinks into your fridge one at a time.
imgur.com
Here’s the right way to do it: You can unload an entire case of soda or beer in just a few seconds by opening both sides of the box and pushing the cans through as you slip the box out.
2. You take aluminum foil out of the package and tear it off.
funsterz.com, BuzzFeed, barcoo.com
Here’s the right way to do it: On almost every box of aluminum foil, there’s a perforated tab on either side. Punch those in to keep the roll in place in the box, and just take as much foil as you need with ease.
3. You break pieces off a Toblerone bar outward.
Twitter: @Toblerone, youtube.com
Here’s the right way to do it: It’s way easier and neater to push the piece in toward the other pieces.
4. While cooking, you always put the cooking spoon beside or on the pot.
Twitter: @DirectAppliance, fuckyeahlifehacks.tumblr.com
Here’s the right way to do it: Most pots have a small hole on the handle. You can use it as a little holster for your spoon.
5. You put the hair clip into your hair with the corrugated side facing up.
Twitter: @seventeensvt526, Coprid / Getty Images
Here’s the right way to do it: The corrugated side should be facing the scalp, so that the hair clip can get a better grip on the hair.
6. You pour Tic Tacs from the package into your mouth, or into your hand.
Twitter: @IrisVogt, Twitter: @oxruon
Here’s the right way to do it: On the underside of most little Tic Tac doors, there is a small indentation. With this, you can elegantly take out just one Tic Tac.
7. You eat your cupcake as it comes.
Twitter: @YouTubeIndia, Twitter: @akwesq
Here’s the right way to do it: If you want to avoid a mess, tear the top half of the cupcake off, and stick the bottom bit of cake on top. Now you’ve got yourself a tidy little cupcake sandwich.
8. You always pluck the stem off of your strawberries with your fingers.
youtube.com
Here’s the right way to do it: Use a straw or chopstick to poke up through the strawberry and totally remove the stem.
9. You hold your burger with one hand when you eat it.
Twitter: @derridalicious, youtube.com / Via foodbeast.com
Here’s the right way to do it: Your thumbs and pinkies belong on the bottom of the burger. The rest of your fingers stay on top. This way, the toppings will never slip out again.
10. You cross out something with a straight line.
reddit.com
Here’s the right way to do it: If you really don’t want someone to be able to read what you’ve crossed out, write over mistakes with other words or scribbles. It makes your errors much harder to decipher.
11. You cut your bread from top to bottom.
Twitter: @TrendsOfNigeria
Here’s the right way to do it: Turn your bread upside down before you slice it. It gives you a larger and more even cutting surface.
12. You simply put your straw into the can.
Twitter: @Zindagimuskraye
Here’s the right way to do it: Put the straw through tab on the can, and turn it so the straw is held in place. That way the carbonation won’t keep constantly lifting the straw out of the can.
13. You hold a piece of pizza straight.
io9.com / Via quora.com
Here’s the right way to do it: Give the crust a bit of a pinch when you pick it up. The slice will stay horizontal and your toppings will stay put.
14. You pour your Chinese takeout out of the containers it comes in before eating it.
Twitter: @DpArtino5, youtube.com
Here’s the right way to do it: if you unfold the takeout container, it becomes a little paper plate you can eat it off of.
15. You struggle to untie a plastic bag that you’ve tied to something.
jumaklavita / Via reddit.com
Here’s the right way to do it: Twist the free end of the loop and push it through the knot to untie it easily.
16. You pour your juice with the opening on the bottom.
youtube.com
Here’s the right way to do it: If you pour your juice from the top, it’s easier to control the flow and cut the flow off neatly and quickly.
17. You put your roll on the wall with the free end on the inside.
CC BY-SA / creativecommons.org / Via de.wikipedia.org, Twitter: @OroroPro
Here’s the right way to do it: The free end belongs on the outside of the roll. Look, the original patent from1891 even says that’s the right way to do it.
18. You throw your shopping bags into the shopping cart.
nikkeberger / Via instagram.com, Twitter: @LifeHacks
Here’s the right way to do it: Look for little tabs on the cart, right behind the child seat. You can actually hang bags off of them to really optimize for space inside your cart as you’re wheeling it out to your car.
19. When you want a cool beverage quickly, you throw your drink in the freezer and hope for the best.
Twitter: @Inte, BuzzFeed
Here’s the right way to do it: The fastest way to cool down a bottle is to wrap it in a wet paper towel and put it in the fridge (or freezer, if you’re really desperate).
20. When you reheat leftover pasta, you just throw it all in as one heaping pile of noodles.
Twitter: @CorinneKenward, OMGpolly / Via reddit.com
Here’s the right way to do it: When reheating, try spreading your pasta out into the shape of a doughnut. It’ll heat up much more evenly.
21. You try jamming your hand in the Pringles can, or pouring it out to get to your chips.
youtube.com
Here’s the right way to do it: Fold up a piece of paper into a sleeve, and slip it into the can alongside the chips. Then tilt the can and pull the paper sleeve out to get at your chips much more cleanly.
22. You just take a wild guess at what side of the car your gas tank is on every time you pull into the gas station.
jassy_in_pictures / Via instagram.com
Here’s the right way to do it: There’s usually an indicator on the gas gauge that shows what side the gas cap is on. Take a look.
