something about this new café near the embankment...

just passing by it, you looked through the window and it seemed to you that you saw an angel. you rubbed your eyes slightly, maybe you were too exhausted after the school?

no, the angel was still there.

you couldn't even continue focusing on this, your stomach growled. fortunately, no one was around so it wasn't awkward, but that was the sign to visit this new strange café. no, it didn't look strange, but the atmosphere it was radiating... ok, maybe it is your exhaustion, whatever, you entered the building and saw a girl and a guy, this girl stood looking at you coming in, this is the girl who graduated from school a couple of years ago, nothing special. but the guy was sitting, probably watching tiktok, based on the viral sounds that were popping up in everybody's fyp page recently.

the girl wasn't really smiling or greeting, she looked like she was already doing you a favor by serving you today. nevermind. you walked up to the counter and before looking at the menu from above you looked at the guy with blonde hair, you noticed the freckles on his face that were a little specific. that girl pulled you out of your thoughts by saying

"hello, what would you like?"

"umm..." you quickly began to run your eyes over the menu

"one piece of brownie and ice americano with milk please"

at these words the angel boy looked up at you and as soon as your eyes met, he quickly looked down again in slight shyness

"alright, take a seat, everything will be ready in a few minutes" that annoying voice disturbed you again, but you just ignored and sat near the window, looking at other students leaving the school

"Yongbok, your first order, come on"

"alright..." his voice was deep and you were completely taken aback by this

you quickly reacted to this little conversation and saw as the blonde boy stood up, checking his pulse by touching his neck. maybe he's nervous since it's his first time? probably.

you were checking your phone and here your order comes

"your one piece of brownie and ice americano please" - he smiled, and that smile of his was enlightening your whole day, he seemed even a bit excited

"is the americano with milk or...?"

"oh, I'm so sorry, i forgot about this, I'll fix it right now" - he ran away, while that girl was staring at him all frustrated. then he came back to you with a slight smile on his face

"here's your ice americano with milk now, I'm sorry again, miss"

"no, no, it's okay, thank you very much..."-you looked at his badge-"Yongbok... yeah, thanks"

"oh, you're welcome... and i feel sorry about the way she spoke to you earlier..." - he whispered, giving a nervous smile and walked away, what a cutie

the silence between this girl and him is too loud. poor thing Yongbok.

anyway, you're finishing everything in 10 minutes and walk away, smiling to Yongbok, he smiles back.

on your way back home you tried to find his social media, but only found this

well this looked a lot like him, but... felix lee? alright maybe it's just his twin...

whatever. on the next Tuesday you visited that café again, ordering the same.

this time you were in there for quite longer, doing your little project. that was the sign for him, he decided to sit in front of you with a smile

"hey..."

"hi?" you were surprised by the sudden greeting, especially with deep voice, but you suddenly knew who that was. that angel.

you moved your laptop a bit to see him.

"well... uh- i see you like brownies, right?"

"umm, yes, they are delicious, as if some kind of five star michelin cooked it..."

"oh, haha, well, thanks for that, uh- how can i call you, miss?"

"why do you call me miss? you could be older than me" - you said with a smile

"oh, my bad, you're right, i could be older, maybe i am"

you chuckled.

"you can call me y/n"

"oh, y/n... beautiful name for a cute girl like you... so... y/n... how old are you?"

"I'm seventeen"

"oh, I'm eighteen... so you were... right"

"looks like i was... so you're... Yongbok?"

"well, i don't actually like this name... i prefer when people call me Felix... i was born in Australia, that's why... but my parents are korean actually, so I'm a korean boy, haha"

you can see slight blush spreading on his face and he checks his pulse once again

"ooh... yeah- yeah, sure, why not?"

"then can i get your number so we-we could text each other and arrange a walk?"

"sure, of course... here!" - you write your number in his phone and he does the same in yours

"then, good, y/n, thank you very much, I'll text you after my shift when I get home, alright?"

"yes, perfect, thank you too, Felix"

"goodbye-e-e, be careful"

"i will be, goodbye!"

you and Yuna have been friends since elementary school. she was always kind to you and you treated her the same way, she helped you with problems and supported you, you did the same, your friendship was almost ideal. since you reached high school, Yuna has become popular among boys and not only boys. you weren’t jealous of her being so popular, but you were jealous, because Yuna, by her kindness and lack of ability to say “no,” hung out with many people, and they, in turn, covered you from Yuna’s eyes with their attention. your despair reached such a level that you thought if only Yuna wasn’t so perfect that popularity wouldn’t overtake her and sweep her off her feet, at least she didn’t get star fever. so the weeks went by, when you texted her

“well, when will we meet?”

she always answered

“sorry, kitty, I’m busy all week, I won’t be able to meet :(”

you got tired of it and gradually you began to distance yourself from her.

Yuna began to notice this when, entering class in the morning, you didn’t even look in her direction, left alone greeting. she thought maybe you were in such a mood just from the upcoming exams, from this whole wave of tension from teachers and parents with the words “push up” but you didn’t even text her, didn’t talk and completely disappeared from social medias, you didn't even liked her posts! something was wrong here, it couldn't be because of school, because during PE lessons she began to notice that you were wearing more closed clothes and long sleeves, Yuna is sensitive and noticed that you're obviously hiding something, but she didn't want to ask about it, knowing how easily you can get emotional.

when all this popularity around Shin died down, she invited you to go out, but you didn't even look at her messages. summer has come, for you it was the worst summer, you missed Yuna’s sweet face and her pleasant voice, her kind and caring soul. she texted and called you repeatedly, but you ignored all her messages and calls, leaving as soon as she came to your house. her popularity among her peers increased again, as there was much more time to hang out, but Yuna began to reject most of the invitations and was homesick, falling into apathy and even depression, she was missing you under her arms to hug, snuggle up to. it was even worser for you, because with this distancing you realized that your feelings for Yuna were clearly more than friendly, since childhood. those feelings of butterflies in your stomach when talking to her are for a reason.

so, one day she decided to take everything into her own hands and came to your house, realising that your parents had flown to another country on vacation, and you were left on your own. the very minute you saw her in your hallway, you started to get dressed and put on your shoes to leave this time too, but she grabbed your wrist, you wrinkled your face in pain and she noticed this, lifting up your sleeve, exposing your arm, which was covered in short but deep cuts, she gasped and let go of your hand, there was horror in her eyes, she was silent and even began to tremble a little, her face turned pale, after a couple of minutes in silence, you stood with your back to her, she spoke

“y/n, what the fuck is this?!”

you didn’t say a word, then she turned you to her by your shoulder, saying louder

“bitch, what is this? who promised me that she would never do this? who hurt you so much that you did this? why are you ignoring me for months? what's going on?"

she bombarded you with questions, hysterical, tears instantly forming in her eyes, just like in yours.

"maybe it's you?"

"what?" Shin held her breath, her eyes widening.

"maybe it's all because of you?"

your voice shook as the first tear slid down your cheek. she lowered her hand and didn't touch you anymore, just looking bottomlessly into your eyes

"tell me what I did"

"TELL ME IMMEDIATELY"

she grabbed your shoulders again.

“with your fucking fans you completely forgot about me. what happened? always when I texted you to at least spend a little time with me, you answered: «not now, y/n», «I’m busy, sorry», «sorry, kitty, on this week I can't» and this went on for several months! fucking several months! how do you think I felt? we literally grew up together! and you leave me like that?"

"y/n, I understand, listen to me now. I couldn't just turn people down, that would have been rude of me! I'm sorry, forgive me for not making you a priority like I should have! you're right, we've grown up together, I'm so sorry, baby, I really am. but now, I'm turning down everyone just to see you, and then I find out that you're hurting yourself because of me? baby, you could have at least texted me. you know that I will always support you, I would find time."

tears continued to fall from your eyes, which broke Yuna's heart even more, she opened her arms, inviting you

"can I hug you? please, I've been wanting to for so long."

you snuggled and hugged her, she kissed your forehead and continued the hug. one thing she didn't understand was that she had been giving you false hope throughout your entire friendship. but how can you tell her about this? you pulled away from her, looking at the floor.

"what's the matter, baby?" - she gave you a worried look.

"nothing, it's just hot to hug in the summer."

you lied, but Shin decided not to dig into it.

"okay. how about we eat some ice cream and watch something on TV, huh? sounds good?"

you nodded, Yuna is still the same, what a relief…

“that's it, go choose what we’re going to watch, and I’ll get the ice cream.”

you were lying on your parents’ bed, watching some kind of comedy that didn’t attract your attention, all the time you were thinking about how to confess to Yuna. Yuna was engrossed in the film and apparently liked it. after finishing the movie, it was dark outside. she suggested to take a walk like before and you went out, talking about simple topics, when she asked

“are you sure there’s nothing else that you're mad about?”

“yes”

“baby, are you absolutely sure?”

“I’m not mad at you”

“okay, are we good then?”

"yes, but..."

"but?"

“forget it”

“tell me, I want to know”- she took your hand, clearly interested.

“I don’t know how to say it. how do you look at same-sex relationships?”

you left her in absolute shock, red from her ears to her cheeks.

you have already come to terms with the refusal when she turns you by the waist and kisses you on the lips, after a couple of seconds of realization you break away and say, with burning cheeks

“Shin Yuna, are you outta your mind? why'd you kiss me in the center of the city in front of everyone?”

“so that everyone can see that you’re my girlfriend, baby” - she said with a smug smile, looking at you being embarrassed was her amusement.

“completely crazy” - you hit her on the head gently, as a joke, but it hurt a little.

"ouch, y/n!" - she laughed.

“stupid” - you turned away with an annoyed face.

"baby, why are you acting out? turn around and give your girlfriend a kiss"

"never. no. you didn't deserve it."

“come on, stop playing with me, you can see that I love you too, baby y/n”

“I’ll reimburse you for it. I’ll reimburse you for the money you spent and you’ll stay with me, okay? just stay with me.”

the next morning, your doorbell rang, somehow dressed and running to the door from the second floor, you saw Miyeon in the peephole and opened the door for her
