I found my login for this blog! Yay!
I am working on full whump lists for this show :)
Ironside s3e5- "A Bullet for Mark"
I just need to share this. This old episode of Ironside from the late 1960s has become probably my favorite whump episode of anything ever. And I watch a LOT of shows.
It has everything! Caretaker/whumpee role reversal, deeply concerned friends, surprisingly concerned minor characters, a serious wound treated seriously with lengthy hospital waiting and uncertain updates about his condition (etc.), secondary attempts on his life, important conversations and introspection by other character?? It's just so good. I have honestly watched this episode about 20 times in the last couple of months and I do not get tired of it.
You, too, can watch this episode if you like these vintage whumps! The entire show is actually free to watch on this site...

The Six Million Dollar Man: Appreciation Post
Just wanted to vent/draw attention to the amazing show that was the Six Million Dollar Man. Staring Lee Majors (one of my favorite oldies whumpees) as the Air Force Pilot and astronaut Colonel Steve Austin, the Six Million Dollar Man was not only a groundbreaking show in the genres of super heroes, science fiction, and secret agents, it was also an amazing treasure trove of creative, original, and *frequent* whump!
The premise of the show is just about as whumpy as you can get: after a horrible air accident, Colonel Austin is critically injured, suffering the loss of both legs, his right arm, and left eye, among other injuries. The only way to save his life and limbs is through the implantation of a set of bionic body parts which turn him into the first Cyborg. Austin wakes up to a completely different existence and is forced to face life as this “monster” who is barely human any more. After the initial drama, Steve goes on to become a special agent for the OSI for whom he participates in a very imaginative selection of missions. Because of the uniqueness of his bodily technology, there is a whole untapped world of whumpy scenarios involving malfunctions, illnesses, and otherwise mortal injuries - all relating to the bionics (let alone the fact that he’s a government agent and is exposed to the traditional car accidents, bullets, knives, punches, etc).
In just a brief brainstorm session I was able to come up with at least 13 separate episodes which all feature fairly significant whumpy story lines (without including any punches, pistol-whippings, etc- of which there are many!). Steve is subjected to amnesia, severe concussion, frequent hospitalizations, blindness, poisonings, bullet wounds (to human and bionic parts alike), bionic malfunctions, and so much more!
Have any of you watched this show? If so- favorite episodes?

Yes! If you’re looking for vintage whump... well this is the right place to find it! I do almost entirely new gif sets that I create of oldies whumpy scenes that either I love, or people have submitted! Feel free to suggest things for me to watch! I’ll definitely look into that show you mentioned Anon! I made a massive list of coming gifsets the other night so there are a lot of things coming!!
It would be awesome if you could continue to expand on your #vintage, there is an absolute treasure trove of it out there in particular a show I came across called The Invaders, it is just full of the main character (a mighty fine looking man BTW ) getting snatched, beat up, drugged up and the list goes on (insert evil grin).
Oo nice! And I’ll do that! I’m a big fan of vintage shows and whumpy pics and gifs are rare indeed. @vintagewhump and @classicwhump put out some great content and have confirmed that they take requests! Check them out if you haven’t already. :)

Update!
Hey all! As you’ve probably I’ve been pretty slow on both of my blogs the last several weeks. I haven’t posted anything on here in probably as much as a month.. maybe more??
There is a reason to this!
Just under 3 weeks ago, I moved away from home and into my new college home! Yes, I have started college! (Yes, in case you are shocked, VintageWhump is only 18 lol). And let me tell you- it is a very busy time!! Especially now living in very close proximity with a roommate, it has been hard to find any time for fandom in general, let alone the whumpy parts of fandom. I can’t exactly play exceptionally whumpy episodes or work on gifsets or stories of whump without the possibility of her seeing or asking what it is (our beds are like 2 and a half feet apart!
Anyway, I’ve just learned that my roommate will be out of town for the weekend, starting tonight and through mid-day Monday, so I will be able to get some time to myself to work on fandom ventures! Expect some fics, gifsets, posts, idk SOMETHING to be coming at you from one or both of my blogs!
Thanks for your patience in this time and keep the requests coming (to both of my blogs!) and I will try to watch the things you send me whenever I can get to them!
