ㅤYou approached Heeseung as he stood at his locker, his friends grouped around him. Their heads are thrown back in laughter, caused by something on Heeseung's phone.

ㅤ"Heeseung," You call, stopping a couple of steps away from the group of boys. They looked up from the phone, startled. The sudden attention caused your already nauseating anxiety to spike, but you're determined to see this through. "Can I talk to you?"

ㅤHeeseung shares a look with his friends, the lingering mirth from whatever they'd watched is still in his eyes. "Sure." He shrugs. . . but he doesn't make any move to leave his friends. You're unaware of the way your shoulders cave in but Heeseung follows the movement with his eyes.

ㅤ"I mean alone." You clarify, the anxiety churning in your stomach as you say it. He shouldn't be this intimidating, not after last night, but he is. "I want to talk to you alone."

ㅤ"Okay," He says, his voice compliant. It puts your nerves at ease. You give him a small smile as he gestures for you to lead the way. You're glad he's agreed to talk, you'd noticed that he'd been avoiding you--or maybe not, maybe you were overthinking this, maybe you'd put unnecessary expectations onto him. Even so, you lead him to the empty chemistry lab near Heeseung's locker.

ㅤYour relief shrivels up as you shut the door behind Heeseung. Shit, you didn't think this far. You'd only planned to ask him to talk to you... Fuck.

ㅤHeeseung clears his throat, his hands in his pockets. "What'd you wanna talk about?"

ㅤ"Oh," You mumble, too aware that your hands are shaking. "Um, I had a question." It doesn't escape your knowledge of how lame you sound right now.

ㅤ"A question?" Even Heeseung realizes how stupid that sounds.

ㅤ"Yeah, about. . . um, last night." You look at Heeseung as you say the last part, just in time to see the shift in his eyes. Your heart sinks as he looks away from you, shaking his head. When he looks back, his eyes are cold. It's cutting, the sudden shift. You take a step back, but nothing can put space between you and the arrogance in his eyes.

ㅤ"Last night?" He repeats. Whatever words you had, they shrivel up in your throat, coating your tongue in ash. He laughs, a cutting sound that lacks the mirth he'd shared with his friends. Your shoulders tense at the noise. "Please, Y/n, what did you think that was?"

ㅤYour tongue is glued to the roof of your mouth. Your insides feel like they're being squeezed. What the fuck is happening?

ㅤHeeseung's lips curve in a smirk at your silence. "You think a kiss means I like you?" His question is mocking, the raise of his brows, even more so. "You were gonna ask me what we are, weren't you, Y/n." Your silence is enough of an answer. He takes a step towards you. Another and another. Until he's towering over you, looking down his nose at you.

ㅤ"Don't be so fucking naive, Y/n. I only talked to you 'cause of a bet. And you fell for it." He laughs again, this noise a self-pleased huff. There's a lump stuck in your throat, your eyes stinging with the threat of tears. You don't think you've ever felt like this, like your stomach was opened up and all your organs were scooped out.

ㅤ"I got 200,000 won outta it, so I've got you to thank, don't I?" He brushes your shoulder as he walks past you, to the door. You watch as he turns around, his fingers wrapped around the door's knob. "And, Y/n? You don't mean shit to me so stop acting like a lost puppy."

ㅤThen, he turns the knob and leaves the door ajar behind him. The echoes of his friends' laughter bounce down the empty hallway.

"Y/n. It was just a bet. A tiny little harmless bet."

ㅤYou slowly woke up, you were in a dark room. With nothing but a mattress on the floor. You feel as if you were tied up to something, your vision is limited and you can barely move to see where you're at.

ㅤThere was no sound, but you felt his presence. And then he came into the room, hearing his footsteps come closer and closer until you could see his figure right in front of you. The little light that was in the room shone upon him.

ㅤHe was covered in all black, and his eyes were locked onto you. His presence was very menacing. "Good morning, sweetheart. Did you miss me?" He says as he sits on the mattress next to you.

ㅤYou could see how your hands were tied to the bed, keeping you from leaving. But the strong rope didn't stop you from at least trying to get away. "Not at all." You say, glaring at him but he only finds your little glares cute.

ㅤ"What a shame, you should be thanking me for giving you a place to sleep, darling." He says, as he unties you from the bed and pulls the rope from your wrists. "You may not want to be with me, but we both know you don't have a choice, do we, love?" He asks you in a cold, sarcastic tone.

ㅤ"It would be in your best interest to not resist anymore, you know the consequences if you keep fighting.." He stops, staring down at you. He raise his hand to your face, caressing your soft cheek. He tucks some of your hair behind your ear,

"Don't push me to hurt you, please."

ㅤIt was almost midnight as you walked towards Jay's office. Most employees had gone home already, but you had to work a little later than usual. All the lights were off except for his office and the cubicle you worked in. The small knock at Jay's door caught his attention, to which he spoke out a quick "come in." Before going back to flipping through papers.

ㅤOnce invited into his office, you open the door and walk in. Surprised to see he was still hard at work.. "Mr. park, why haven't you gone home yet? It's very late.." You say with a more softer voice, sounding stupid since you did the same. "I could ask you the same question." Jay says, raising an eyebrow at you and squinting his eyes.

ㅤTo his surprise, you were wearing a formal skirt-he wasn't exactly surprised about the fact you were just wearing a skirt, but more about the fact that you're wearing a skirt in this weather. "May I ask why you're wearing a skirt? It's cold outside, adding the fact that it's pouring out there." Jay's eyes scan your outfit, not judging but more confused.

ㅤ"Oh, my skirt? Uhm.. you might not believe me but I thought it would be nice out today, I forgot to check the weather for the night and only checked for the morning." You mumble, adjusting your skirt by pulling it down. "Are you not cold?" He asked, tilting his head and furrowing his eyebrows. "That's absurd. Check the weather thoroughly from now on."

ㅤHe says, sounding like a protective dad or boyfriend. "Okay, yes.. I will. but, Mr. Park. when are you going to go home? You should go home especially if you haven't eaten dinner yet!" You say, sounding concerned which made him smile a little bit. The smile was subtle, and before you could notice the smile he went back to a straight-poker-face.

ㅤ"Don't worry about me. You should go home. Leave, go home, now." Jay ordered, pointing to the door behind you with his pen. You quickly bow in goodbye before leaving, the door closing behind you. "Did she even bring an umbrella.. or a coat at least?" He mumbled to himself, subconsciously worrying for your health.

ㅤAfter an hour or two, Jay eventually came downstairs, exiting the elevator and entering the lobby. He stopped when he saw you standing by the window, peering out and just staring at the rain. "What the hell.." He mumbled, making his way to you and tapping you on your shoulder. "Y/n, you shouldn't be here."

ㅤYou look at him in surprise when he taps your shoulder, adjusting your purse strap. "Oh- well.. I was waiting for the rain to stop so I could go to the bus station-" You attempted to explain yourself but the look on Jay's face told you to shut up. "Are you stupid? I'm genuinely curious as to how you got this job.."

ㅤ"The rain doesn't stop until the morning," He took a pause to look at his expensive watch. "The last bus has left by now," He stopped once more to look you up and down. "And you're wearing a skirt and some heels. Please, use your brain." Jay sighs, putting his bag down and taking off his coat before wrapping it around your shoulders.

ㅤ"Wear this so you don't get cold.." Jay's voice softens, adjusting the coat around you before buttoning it up. Your cheeks were slowly gaining a redder color, but you couldn't help but admit how warm it was.. and how it smelt like his cologne. "Oh- thank you.." You mumble, his big coat engulfing you in warmth.

"I'll drop you off home, don't catch a cold.."
