Okay I dont think I'll be having a popular post again anytime soon but it would be nice if some of yall did not reblog with stuff that contradicts what I said in the first place 🙏

Like I'm not trying to sound like a b*tch specially bc a lot of yall like followed me overnight (that's crazy lmao) but like 😬any form of hazel having golden eyes is a continuation of it being racist

Hazel can have brown eyes just to have brown eyes...they don't need to be brown but they look gold in the sun and I dont need to hear the justification that they're gold in the first place just bc shes a daughter of pluto. Pluto's eyes are black for crying out loud, are you trying to tell me they're gold because of gold bars???

I'm not trying to drag this out further than it needs to be bc I would like to go back to posting about percy being a black dude so let me explain:

Hazel having gold eyes is racist. Black girls do not have golden eyes. I don't have golden eyes. What it means is that it treats Hazel like someone that's exotic, like in order to be special you have to be different. Like you're so fine you're not like them other girls. (sorry for this example I know it's more of a flirting thing and Hazel's 13 but you get what I mean? Yes? I don't have another thing to compare it to.) A common feature of black girls is having brown eyes! My eyes are are brown, my mother eyes are brown, my friends' eyes are so brown they might as well be black.

So that tackles onto another point, Hazel's eyes do not need to be shining in the sun looking gold because like for what reason? It's another whole thing like just let her eyes be brown.

Also Hazel having cinnamon red hair is dumb, I could chalk it up to a lace front or a wig but like what 13 year old got a lace front.....just make the hair black good grief see reasons above

Care to elaborate on Percy’s crush on Beckendorf?

YES this is my true passion. i have too many thoughts so this is wildly half-baked but it’s what i’ve got

beckendorf is older and so many things that percy wants to be, but he’s also someone percy can deeply relate to and that is a recipe for a small bi boy to develop one hell of a crush. i don’t think it’s a raging “i want to date him” crush, but it’s there. 

beckendorf is the first person to show kindness to tyson. he’s a leader. he’s got plans for a normal life after the war, which is something percy desperately wants for himself. beckendorf got his girl and is one of the only people percy talks to about annabeth. i love their friendship, but it also has major “do i like him or do i want to be like him” vibes. by tlo i think they’re firmly Peers but for earlier books i 100% see percy harboring a crush he has no idea how to handle

also percy described beckendorf as having muscles like a pro ballplayer’s like oh sweetie ur bisexual is showing
