(Different anon here, responding to a previous one): “if i play devil's advocate, maybe many people are unaware he's actually a bull.” I mean, that’d be pretty embarrassing considering his last name literally just means “bull” but I suppose anything’s possible with this fandom.
There are people who think he’s Gaston more than the Beast. Yeah, it’s possible.
i know it would be offensive/derogatory to refer to a faunus as the animal they are, e.g. blake as just "the cat", so wouldn't it be considered a microaggression to refer to a faunus as an animal they aren't?
i often see people in the RWBY fandom calling adam a goat when he's actually a bull. if i play devil's advocate, maybe many people are unaware he's actually a bull. his horns are pretty unique after all, they're not shaped like a bull's horns, it would be easy to confuse him for a goat. still--he's the only faunus character i see being treated this way by the fandom. it's irksome
Yeah, that could easily be a microaggression in-universe. Especially choosing animals with historically negative associations (rats, donkeys, come to mind).
It’s irksome but it’s fandom ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Which is a flippant way of saying it might rankle a bit but it’s not going anywhere. People who don’t know are justified in being mistaken because of his misleading design. People who know he’s a bull think it’s funny, and Adam is already a punching bag of a character so what’s one more jab?
