studyblr challenge ⋆。°✩ day 11/30: a photoset detailing your routine for the day
It's spring break which means I have the time and energy to do this prompt! Yesterday I made myself a big breakfast before my intern shift at the ED. It was an uneventful day. That being said, I did walk into the supply closet and encounter a nurse doing a face ice bath with a basin in the sink. This is the exact type of chaotic energy I expect from emergency department staff.
After my shift my dad took me to rescue my car from the mechanic :') it's kind of far so that took the rest of my afternoon pretty much. I was really tired so I went to bed early (9ish) and slept 9 hours!
productivity challenge ⋆。°✩ day 14/100
yesterday I journaled and went to my ED shift but other than that my car drama kind of threw off my day. I was waiting around at the house for the tow truck to show up for 2 hours and couldn't go to the gym :( So that's my biggest priority today. After that maybe I'll go get some work done at the coffee shop for a change of scenery :3

studyblr challenge day 10/30 - who is your favorite professor and why?
I absolutely adore my bio prof this semester; I don't know her well/personally (the class has 300 students) but she got her PhD in biology education and is clearly passionate about creating curriculum that is engaging and actually useful. I've learned so much in this class and I respect the amount of effort she's put into it a lot.
productivity challenge day 13/100
it's the friday before spring break :') I felt so spacey today and was feeling down about not getting everything done that I wanted, but I have lots of time next week to get caught up. I did manage to:
go to class
get groceries
do laundry
get some work done for research
journal
before the end of the week I need to:
submit two assignments for my Quantity Food Production class
submit paperwork for state EMT license

March 23rd, 2024 - casual/miscellaneous post today
-
Gradually emerging from the fever dream that was my 8 week EMT night course. 0/5 do not recommend, but it's over now and I have my EMT now so it was worth it :')
Trying to get back into my routine, will hopefully start posting again.
Currently just trying to catch up academically with my major classes though. Still wanted to post a little update since it's been a few weeks (or months).

happy new year! winter break to-do list: print paperwork for EMT School & call about payment method book flights finish pre-trip checklist write thank you notes do CPR renewal do inventory restock for work write new year reflection
productivity challenge ⋆。°✩ day 11/100
There's an apple watch challenge to close all 3 rings the first week of 2024! Today I went on a 3 mile walk/hike. 1 day down, 6 to go! I also binged the book How to Stay Married by Harrison Scott Key right before the end of the year and am now starting Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. Continuing my streak of silly little memoirs. The average goodreads challenge goal for 2024 is 47 books (??!!). Seeing as I'm not deranged, I'm aiming far below the mean with a 12 book goal for the year (aka one a month). I think I ended 2023 with 13 or 14 and I was really happy with that!

studyblr challenge ⋆。°✩ day 7/30: the best advice someone has given you
action precedes motivation.
upon googling this quote I found it attributed to various people so I'm not going to bother sourcing it.
Anyway...I got a new journal from my sister Christmas and I am so so excited about it! It's super structured and has tons of prompts in it so I'm already kinda overwhelmed, but I'm not going to let myself be intimidated! I wanted something that would guide me into journaling more so I hope it will help. I will take it with me everywhere so, if nothing else, I can at least pose as the type of person who journals regularly.
productivity challenge ⋆。°✩ day 10/100
I went on a big hike last week, and then it was Christmas, so I haven't worked out in a bit. I got back to my usual routine today and did some cardio. I also went to work and did some post-Christmas organizing. I spent way too much time doodling in the new journal lol but hopefully tomorrow I'll get back to my to-do list for the rest of winter break.

studyblr challenge ⋆。°✩ day 6/30: a photo showing how you relax + a summary of the last 3 days
12/18 Something great about having a final the week before Christmas: campus is dead, and you can have the whole garden to yourself for last minute cramming. After my chem final I celebrated the end of the semester by going to see Wonka at a drive-in theater with my boyfriend :)
12/19 Got breakfast at a new (to me) coffee shop with my friend Zoe! Also started reading This is How You Lose the Time War and finished Happy-Go-Lucky (two books that could not be more different than each other, and including them in the same sentence is honestly jarring).
12/20 Did lots of errands, had a good shift interning at the PACU, and went to work! Long but good day.
productivity challenge ⋆。°✩ days 7-9/100
academics: ✩ bio exam ✩ food science exam ✩ food production quiz ✩ chem final (chem review 1, 2, 3, 4) excited to finally scrap this to do list lol spanish: 50 flashcards solo casi una hora de CI total los últimos tres días.

Hey kids, take it from an old forest hag: it's totally okay to half-ass your hobbies
... trace that picture for your journal
... like old cars without knowing how to fix them
... watch the movies without reading the comics
... super glue the part of the model
... learn one (1) way to make a braid
... watch how-to videos for every step of the recipe
... google every second word in that article
... use the automatic setting on your camera
And don't be ashamed. Real life isn't school. The all or nothing mentality is not healthy. Don't gate-keep yourself from stuff that might be fun. Shrug, grin, do it. It's good I promise.

16.12.2023 // day 2/100 of productivity - I completely forgot about doing this 100 day challenge (oops) so I'm starting it again now since my exams are coming up in just a few months! I spent the day working through some of the harder topics and drew out some diagrams to help me understand them.

studyblr challenge ⋆。°✩ day 5/30 - a photo of your favorite book my favorite books I read this year
The Wisdom of Insecurity by Alan Watts
“If the universe is meaningless, so is the statement that it is so. If this world is a vicious trap, so is its accuser, and the pot is calling the kettle black” ~ Although I don't adore the label "self help", I suppose that is what this book is. It doesn't exactly give concrete advise, so much as offer an alternative way of looking at the world. He does this by drawing from teachings from Eastern philosophy, but neatly packages the ideas in a way that is accessible to your average Western reader.
The In-Between by Hadley Vlahos
“While I still don't have all the answers, the one thing I can tell you for certain is that there are things that defy medical explanation, and that in between here and whatever comes next, there is something powerful and peaceful” ~ This hospice nurse's memoir, in spite of being about death, feels like a warm hug to read. I definitely cried more than once while reading it though.
The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
“Once you name something, it stops you seeing the whole of it, or why it matters. You focus on the word, which is just the tiniest part, really, the tip of an iceberg” ~ Joined the bandwagon late on this one. I like psychological thrillers in theory, but lately I prefer to read more uplifting things; my mood is easily affected by my current read. Luckily, I was able to binge this book in one day, and the ending made getting through the negative elements absolutely worth it.
