A$AP Rocky Speaks On A$AP Yams' Death
A$AP Rocky speaks at length on the death of A$AP Yams for the first time.
If you've followed A$AP Rocky's career, you know A$AP Yams has always loomed over it. From creative decisions, to promotion, to production choices, Yams was always around. The two were also good friends, or "brothers" as Rocky described their relationship in a recent Instagram post, so it was clear that the rapper would be deeply affected by Yams' sudden passing. Billboard caught up with Flacko, following the screening of his acting debut, "Dope", as well as a short musical performance at Sundance.
"That performance --that was just going to stop me from crying," he said, explaining why he decided to cut his set short. "I had to address it, because the whole time I was rapping and I wasn't into it, which is sad, but I just gotta keep it real. I can't front. It's even harder knowing that I gotta fly out in less than an hour just to go bury him. That's the part that eats at me."
Rocky later cleared up assumption-based rumors that Yams had passed from a drug overdose. "People were saying that Yams overdosed on drugs --he didn't overdose on any drugs," he explained. "I feel like people feel that way because that's all he's in pictures doing. When you see A$AP Yams you see Hennessey or purple drink, you see some type of controlled substance or illegal narcotic."
As far as the rapper's next project, Yams is still serving as executive producer, alongside celebrated musician Dangermouse. "I'm really intrigued for people to hear how that combination sounds. Yams manifested his powers into it."

Fiend drops the visuals for "Passenger Seat".
Fiend's reinvention as a Jet Life artist has been surprisingly successful. The rapper has found his own lane within the hazy smoke jams the collective is known for, complimenting the nostalgia-inducing production with a bassier delivery than his peers.
His most recent record finds him leaning into some nice baritone melodies, recalling Z-Ro's distinctly deep croon. He pairs the song with a perfectly minimal video, as we view the rapper through an old TV screen. Fiend has a new mixtape on the way, titled Music For Our Kind, which should impact soon. Kanye West Accepts Visionary Award At 2015 BET Honors, Introduced By Dame Dash
Kanye West was introduced by Dame Dash at the 2015 BET Honors, where he was presented with a visionary award.
The BET Honors awards are filmed over a month in advance, and now with the instantaneous nature of Twitter and Instagram, it's hard to keep the winners under wraps for more than a matter of seconds. Thanks to social media, we already know quite a bit about Kanye West receiving the Visionary award, which like everything Kanye does, seemed to be a pretty memorable moment.
First off, it was Dame Dash -- who once worked with Kanye at Roc-A-Fella and has since trashed him in interviews -- who introduced Mr. West. He had mostly nice things to say, but did make sure to confirm that the two do not entirely see eye to eye, which made him a strange selection for the duties.
Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Common, and Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian all sung the rapper's praises in a video that aired shortly after Dame's piece. Ye then took the stage, and delivered a characteristically colorful speech, touching on creativity, and making a joke about Kim's history of dating "broke black dudes".

Kanye West's Next Album Will Be Entirely Co-Produced By Paul McCartney
Ibn Jasper confirms that Paul McCartney will serve as the co-producer for Kanye West's next album.
The last few updates on Kanye West's new album have involved Paul McCartney. Most recently, Ty Dolla $ign revealed that he had worked on nine songs with Kanye and Paul, but when it comes to Mr. West, we knew there was no way of knowing how many (if any) of those collaborations would make the final cut.
According to Ibn Jasper, Kanye's close friend and barber of almost 20 years, Paul will co-produce the entirety of the album, so we're likely to hear a good deal of those tracks Ty was talking about.
Ibn also cleared up the confusion over whether the just-released "FourFiveSeconds" was now a Rihanna song or would be saved for Yeezy's album. The answer is both, as the Roc Nation-signed artists will each put the song on the final tracklist of their respective releases.

Lil Wayne teams with Migos for "Amazing Amy".
Lil Wayne began his "Free Carter V" campaign with the release of Sorry 4 The Wait 2, but things got a little more serious with news breaking today that Weezy is preparing to sue Cash Money label head (and father figure) Birdman for $8 Million over the delay.
Now, we've been graced with a brand new track, though it's not immediately clear what it's intended for. Wayne drops a few "sorry for the wait" references that suggest it's an outtake from the tape, but so far there's been no confirmation. ATL MVPs Migos show up to provide both some incredible ad-lib work and a couple triplet-heavy verses.

Listen To Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney's New Song, "FourFiveSeconds"
Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney have unveiled their new collaboration, "FourFiveSeconds".
We've been hearing about this record for a minute now, and Rihanna has decided to drop it out of the blue on her website today. For now, you'll have to head there to listen to the acoustic guitar-led record. Early reports suggested that the song would land on the Kanye record, but the fact that it showed up on RiRi's site rather than Ye's suggested it may have jumped ship to R8.
The song is certainly a departure for both Kanye and Rihanna, once again bearing the influence of Sir Paul we heard on "Only One". The easy-listening direction of Ye's new work likely won't sit all that comfortably with fans looking for Yeezus 2, but if there's anything we know about Kanye it's that his moves truly can't be predicted.

Nipsey Hussle Reportedly Sold 60 Copies Of His $1000 Mixtape, "Mailbox Money"
Nipsey Hussle made $60,000 off of 60 copies of "Mailbox Money."
Nipsey Hussle, we have to hand it to you, you're a marketing genius. After the L.A. rapper announced that he'd be selling physical copies of his December mixtape Mailbox Money (which was available for free in digital form) for $1000, Hussle claims that he's sold 60 copies as of last Tuesday.
Speaking to The Guardian, Hussle said, “It surprises me, as much as I believe in it. Every time I get a transaction, I get a text on my phone, and I’ve been hitting them back. The feedback and the connection I have with these people help me understand the psychology of the person paying $1,000 for some songs that, realistically, you could download for free.”
Smart move by Nip, who'd previously sold copies of 2013's Crenshaw for $100 each. Will his next project cost $10,000?

Bobby Shmurda Gets A Gun Charge Dismissed
Bobby Shmurda has one of the five charges against him dropped.
Finally, some good news for Bobby Shmurda. After the Brooklyn native and 12 other members of his crew were arrested and indicted in a high-profile incident last December, Shmurda's attorney is now saying that one of the five charges against Shmurda will be dropped. In an interview with Revolt, Howard Greenberg said that the “Brooklyn D.A. office announced that the gun case in Brooklyn will be dismissed in about two weeks."
The case in question stems from an incident in which Shmurda fired a gun into a crowd outside of a barbershop, and led to a "Reckless Endangerment" charge. With this out of the way, Shmurda still has to deal with charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia, both of which occurred after police aided his Brooklyn residence last year, as well as two counts of conspiracy.

Lil Wayne To Sue Birdman For $8 Million
Lil Wayne puts his money where his mouth is, demanding Birdman pay him $8 million and free him from Cash Money.
After almost two months of Lil Wayne complaining about his record label, it looks like he's finally doing something legal about it. The Cash Money/Young Money MC will target CEO Birdman in a suit that will ask for both $8 million and Wayne's freedom from the label.
TMZ reports that Birdman owes Lil Wayne that $8 mil as an advance for Tha Carter V that hasn't been paid yet. In addition to this, Wayne is alleging that Birdman is violating their contract by continually withholding release of the project.

Trouble shares visuals for "Tell U Dat."
Back in June, ATL's Trouble dropped a track by the name of "Tell U Dat." Today, a video has arrived.
The track, produced by Spiffy, features some of the best piano playing you'll hear in hip-hop this side of Zaytoven's work on his and Future's new Beast Mode tape, with the embellished melody providing the track with a rather baroque sound. Over this nice backdrop, Trouble drops some dope bars and adapts his flow to fit the nuances of the slick instrumental.
The video itself was shot on the streets of ATL, as well as inside of a strip club.

CBS Analyst, Greg Anthony Arrested In Prostitution Sting
One of the voices of college basketball, Greg Anthony, has been suspended by CBS indefinitely following his arrest on solicitation charges.
A CBS spokeswoman says "Greg Anthony will not be working again for CBS this season."
The CBS analyst, and former Knicks' guard, was booked last night in the District of Columbia and charged with soliciting a prostitute- he was scheduled to call today's Big-10 game between Michigan State and Maryland in College Park, Marlyand.
The 47-year old faces a misdemeanor solicitation charge that is punishable by up to 180 days in jail. Anthony was swiftly released late last night, though no further details have surfaced.
